Tracking the Wanted: Suspect in custody after standoff on Newport Highway near Mead – Washington

MEAD, Wash. – One person is in custody following a standoff on Newport Highway near Mead Monday afternoon.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to an altercation in the area of US-2 and Deer Park-Milan Road just before noon on Nov. 13. SCSO said the suspect threatened to shoot the victim, who was ‘fearing for their life.’ The suspect then got in their car and drove towards the victim, almost hitting them.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the suspect, who refused to follow commands and drove off.
SCSO stopped the suspect a second time around 12:30 p.m., near US-2 and East Day Mt Spokane Road. Deputies used spike strips to keep the suspect from taking off again as they were refusing to comply with verbal commands. Crisis negotiators were called to the scene but were also unsuccessful.
‘Chemical agents’ were then used in another attempt to get the suspect out of the vehicle, but he still refused to exit. SCSO did not elaborate on what these chemicals are.

Tracking the Wanted: NJ man charged in chase that spanned Halifax, Nash counties, sheriff’s office says– North Carolina
HALIFAX, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been charged following a chase Friday morning that started in Halifax County and ended in a wreck off of Interstate 95 in Nash County.
On that morning, Halifax County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sherrod responded to the area of I-95 southbound near the 170 mile marker due to a call from a concerned citizen about a white minivan traveling at a high rate of speed.
Sherrod noticed a white Honda Odyssey driven by 38-year-old Scott Kercher, of New Jersey, coming up behind him. The van changed lanes and passed Sherrod at more than 100 mph, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sherrod attempted to stop Kercher at which time Kerchers sped up and continued southbound with speeds reaching 120 mph, the sheriff’s office said.
Kercher continued south on I-95 passing into Nash County. When he reached the U.S. 64 interchange, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office had spike strips set up and waiting.

The Omaha Police Department identified the man arrested after a robbery call led to a chase in Omaha Sunday. The Omaha Police Department says the robbery happened shortly after 11:15 a.m. at the Kwik Shop near 155th and Blondo Streets. Investigators say the suspect, Georgi Crisafulli, 32, used a gun and got away with cash. Omaha Police say officers eventually found Crisafulli’s vehicle, a dark blue Nissan Rogue, and tried to pull it over. It says he refused to stop leading to a chase. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says a newly hired lateral deputy from Columbus Police was able to use stop sticks on the vehicle near 144th and Blondo. The chase ended near 150th and Fort Streets. Omaha police say charges are pending. The Nebraska State Patrol also assisted DCSO and OPD.

An armed robbery suspect was taken into custody following a police pursuit on Interstate 94 through Lake County that ended near Six Flags in Gurnee Saturday evening.
The suspect was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a CVS store near 87th Street and Cicero Avenue in Chicago, according to police radio traffic.
The male suspect fired a single shot during the armed robbery, officers at the scene reported.

Tracking the Wanted: Two arrested in Baldwin County after high speed car chase, drugs thrown out of vehicle – Georgia
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) — Two were arrested in Baldwin County Saturday night after a high speed car chase, with both the driver and passenger now facing felony charges.
A Washington County Deputy reportedly clocked a vehicle traveling at 63 mph in a 45 mph construction zone, while patrolling the area of Highway 540 and Lamars Creek Road.
When the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped away, reaching speeds of over 100 mph.
After contacting the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County 911 was able to set up spike strips, which were successfully able to disable the vehicle in Baldwin County.

Tracking the Wanted: DUI Driver Rams Snoqualmie Police Vehicle, Flees From Officers – Washington

At about 10:09 AM, Snoqualmie Police officers responded to SE 96th St at 351st Ave SE for a Welfare Check. Officers were told the driver of a Toyota SUV with a broken-out back window was slumped over and unresponsive. Officers arrived and located the vehicle in the middle of the road.
The first officer on the scene deployed a Terminator stop stick and took evidentiary photos of the driver passed out behind the wheel and with visible drug paraphernalia. The driver awoke and reversed into a marked patrol vehicle, nearly running over a patrol sergeant. The suspect driver then fled from officers. With reasonable suspicion of DUI, a pursuit ensued within state law and department policy.

A pursuit suspect was arrested after a high-speed chase in Ventura County on Friday night. It’s unclear what the man was initially wanted for as California Highway Patrol units trailed closely behind the vehicle. The chase started on the southbound 5 Freeway, down the Grapevine and eventually ended on the westbound 126 Freeway after authorities successfully deployed a spike strip to disable the vehicle’s front tire. Tracking the Wanted: Akron, Indiana, man who was wanted in multiple counties arrested by Indiana State Police – Indiana
KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. — An Akron, Indiana, man who was wanted in multiple counties has been arrested by state police.
According to a press release, 51-year-old Robert Workman led police on a chase before he was ultimately arrested. Troopers initially identified a Cadillac Escalade Workman was driving on Interstate 70 near mile marker 114.
ISP indicated that its troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Workman sped away. The chase began in Henry County and ultimately ended Hancock County.
ISP reported that its deputies deployed stop sticks, flattening both of Workman’s passenger side tires. Despite his tires’ condition, Workman continued to drive with flats.
Police indicated that both of the Escalade’s passenger side tires eventually flew off, but Workman continued to drive the vehicle on its rims. Near mile marker 87, the Escalade lost its axles and became immobilized.

Tracking the Wanted: 2 Arrested On Multiple Charges After High-Speed Chase Early Friday Morning– Tennessee

Two people were arrested early Friday morning after a high-speed chase.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Highway 27 South. The vehicle was a red 2006 Honda Accord.
As the deputy exited his patrol vehicle and approached the stopped vehicle, the driver, later identified as Cody Ratcliff, began to drive south at a high rate of speed. The deputy returned to his vehicle and a pursuit began.
Ratcliff exited Highway 27 South via the Harrison Lane exit where he drove east to the Middle Valley (Hixson) area. Several times deputies lost sight of the vehicle in this area, but it was eventually located again on Highway 27 South. Not only was he driving the vehicle recklessly with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour, but he continually turned off his vehicle’s lights in an attempt to make it difficult for deputies to see him posing great risk to motorists and law enforcement.
A Red Bank Police Department officer was able to successfully use spike strips to stop the vehicle on Highway 27 near the Signal Mountain Road exit. Once the vehicle was spike stripped, Ratcliff attempted to exit Highway 27 via the Manufacturer’s Road exit, but he crashed on the off-ramp.

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — Sand Springs police arrested 28-year-old Keith Clayton this morning after a high-speed chase.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office named Clayton as a most wanted suspect in September for charges of knowingly concealing stolen property, attempted second-degree burglary, and drug charges.
At around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, a Sand Springs officer ran the tag of a vehicle, which came back reported stolen.
After attempting a traffic stop on Clayton, he sped off, police said. During the chase, speeds reached 100 miles per hour.
Deputies attempted to stop Clayton using spike strips, flattening his tires.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol performed a pit maneuver, and after a short foot chase, officers arrested Clayton on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony eluding.

Tracking the Wanted: Man Arrested after Multi-Agency Police Pursuit – Washington

A man accused of stalking his former partner was recently arrested after a pursuit involving authorities from multiple counties.
According to a press release by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported burglary on the 2200 block of Swaisy Drive in Linda in the early hours of November 2. The victim reported to deputies that her ex-boyfriend had broken the back door’s glass to gain entry but had left the scene before their arrival.
The victim identified the suspect as 52-year-old Tawn Saephan of Sacramento. Soon after police arrived, Saephan reportedly returned to the residence in a silver Toyota Camry but fled when he noticed law enforcement at the scene. Officers pursued Saephan from the scene.
At the same time, other deputies deployed a spike strip at Erle Road and Lindhurst Avenue, which damaged the Saephan’s vehicle but failed to stop him. Saephan continued southbound on Highway 70 at speeds reaching 90 mph. The pursuit ran for over 45 miles and approximately 50 minutes, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including Sutter and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Sutter County Sheriff’s deputies placed a second spike strip at SR-99 and Howsley Road, nearly deflating the suspect’s tires down to the rims.
