2. Georgia Man Taken Into Custody After A High-Speed Chase Through Carroll County On Highway 141 Tuesday Evening – Georgia

A Georgia man was taken into custody following a high-speed pursuit with law enforcement on Highway 141 yesterday (Tuesday) evening. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:57 p.m., a Guthrie County Sheriff Deputy clocked a 2020 Toyota Camry, operated by 58-year-old Paul Bolin of Athens, GA, at 83 miles per hour (mph) in western Guthrie County.

Bolin passed the fully marked squad car and continued westbound on Highway 141 at a high rate of speed. The deputy began pursuing the Bolin vehicle, reaching speeds of 97 mph. The chase continued for roughly ten minutes, with Bolin driving through the stop sign located at the Highway 71 and 141 intersection, before a successful deployment of stop sticks by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office around Falcon Avenue ended the pursuit.

When approached by law enforcement, Bolin identified himself as “God,” and has a .22 caliber pistol in the center console. A criminal history search reported that Bolin has no active no warrants and was not a felony but was disqualified from possessing a firearm. Bolin is charged with control of a firearm by a felon, and eluding both class D felonies, as well as speeding and failure to obey a stop sign.

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The St. Joseph County Prosecutors Office has officially charged 24-year-old Shykeena Smith with felony Resisting Law Enforcement after she led Mishawaka Police officers on a chase through the city on July 8.

MPD says officers were responding to a report of an ongoing group of shoplifters at the Kohl’s department store on Grape Road.

“Dispatch advised one group of suspected shoplifters had just left the store and were leaving the scene in a gold Chevy Malibu,” MPD officials said. “Officer Laudeman of MPD located the vehicle on Hickory just north of Catalpa heading south as he was heading north. Laudeman turned his police vehicle around and activated his lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle.”

Authorities say the Malibu was occupied by two black females and continued to travel at high rates of speed, continuously disregarding red lights and stop signs as well as weaving in and out of traffic.

“Eventually, a South Bend officer deployed stop sticks near Esther and McKinley, deflating the passenger side tires of the vehicle, which continued to flee from police,” MPD officials said. “Eventually the vehicle was located unoccupied in the 1400 block of Wayne Street in South Bend. The total path of the chase was approximately four miles from Mishawaka into South Bend.

Smith was identified as the driver as was later located in the backyard of 1440 Sunnymede, where she was taken into custody.

LISBON, Wis. —

Five people have been arrested after a chase that began in Lisbon involving two stolen vehicles, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s department said they received a report of a vehicle that was just stolen from Glacier Pass in the village of Merton around 4 a.m. Deputies investigating another incident in Lisbon saw the stolen vehicle and an additional vehicle speeding southbound on Highway 164. Deputies then began to chase both vehicles.

Brookfield police successfully deployed stop sticks on both fleeing vehicles, according to the sheriff’s department. A Waukesha County Deputy performed a pursuit intervention technique maneuver to stop one of the vehicles, which was reported stolen out of Milwaukee. A 15-year-old and two 17-year-old boys were arrested. The stolen vehicle from Merton continued eastbound on Capitol Drive, where a Brookfield officer performed a PIT maneuver to end the chase. A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man ran away but were eventually arrested and taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

The two stolen vehicles, two guns, $510 in cash, fentanyl, MDMA/Ecstasy, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered, according to the sheriff’s department. Charges are being forwarded to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office.

7. Two men charged following pursuit – Australia

About 4:30pm yesterday (Thursday 18 July 2024) officers attached to Riverina Police District approached a vehicle on the Hume Highway, Tarcutta.When they attempted to stop the vehicle, it allegedly left the scene and was seen crossing onto the incorrect side of the roadway.

Following inquiries, the vehicle was located at Mates Gully Road, Tarcutta, a short time later and a pursuit was initiated. It will be alleged during the pursuit, the vehicle reached speeds of up to 180 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. Stop sticks were utilised and the vehicle came to a stop.

The driver – a 29-year-old man, and the passenger – a 25-year-old man, were arrested and a search was conducted of the vehicle with police allegedly locating a substance believed to be methylamphetamine.

Both men were taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where the 25-year-old man was charged with specially aggravated break, enter and steal and two counts of assault causing ABH in company.

8. Police pursue suspects across border into Monroe County overnight – Michigan

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says two male suspects from Toledo, a 23-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested and taken to jail after leading police on a chase into Monroe County early on Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s office says the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Washington Township police notified them of a pursuit crossing into the border into Michigan on I-75 around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The suspects were driving a stolen vehicle, according to a press release.

After the chase continued off the expressway, police eventually deployed stop sticks near South Telegraph Road and Third Street, south of Monroe in LaSalle Township.

Police were able to detain the suspects after the car was stopped.

The sheriff’s office says a gun thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit was later recovered.

The suspects are facing charges for fleeing and eluding as well as receiving and concealing stolen property.

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — A Friday morning pursuit ended up with law enforcement finding 48 pounds of fentanyl pills.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 21-year-old Levyn Angulo-Ayala. He was charged with vehicular eluding, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and special offender importation.
It all began around 6:30 a.m. when an MCSO deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a car heading east on Interstate 70 near mile marker 23 near Fruita.
After the deputy stepped out of his car, the vehicle allegedly took off at a high speed. The deputy pursued the vehicle but eventually ended the pursuit due to safety reasons, according to the sheriff’s office.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper deployed stop sticks near the mile marker 22 on I-70 in an attempt to disable the car. Despite the tires being flattened by the sticks, Angulo-Ayala allegedly continued down the interstate at a high speed before taking the Fruita exit.
The vehicle continued into town before stopping near the intersection of North Cherry Street and West Pabor Avenue, according to the MCSO.

Angulo-Ayala reportedly fled on foot before peacefully surrendering to Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies, CSP troopers and Fruita Police Department officers.
Following a search of the vehicle, deputies found around 220,000 pills.
Anuglo-Ayala was remanded to Mesa County Detention Facility.

10. Police chase crosses multiple counties, ends with two arrests in northwest Indiana – Indiana

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — Two people from Illinois are behind bars after a police chase Friday evening.

Indiana State Police say a trooper witnessed a vehicle traveling 71 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on US-20 near County Road 400 E.

The trooper tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off, heading west on US-20.

The chase went onto I-94 from LaPorte County through Porter County and into Lake County.

Officials say they tried to stop the vehicle multiple times with stop sticks and were unsuccessful until the vehicle hit the sticks near the Portage exit.

The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Roberto Valencuela, stopped the vehicle near the Lake Station exit where he was arrested.
