NE Portland street takeover leads to arrests, tows, gun Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A multi-agency response to a Northeast Portland street racing takeover led to a number of arrests late Saturday night, police said.

The takeover near Northeast 102nd and Glisan brought hundreds of people — most of them onlookers — to the site. Calls about reckless driving and speed racing brought a heavy police response to the area.

Portland police officers were aided by Gresham police and the Oregon State Police.

People who live in the neighborhood told KOIN 6 News they’re tired of the street racing.

“It’s been happening for long enough now that like there doesn’t seem to be a strategy for how to stop it,” Click said.

Illinois man arrested for suspicion of drug trafficking after leading Utah officers on pursuit – Utah

THOMPSON SPRINGS, Grand County — A man from Illinois was arrested on Tuesday after leading Grand County sheriff’s deputies on a lengthy pursuit that ended at a freeway exit near Thompson Springs.

Patrick Brown, 27, was arrested Tuesday after deputies stopped him for failing to signal for a full two seconds and following a vehicle too closely. After stopping, deputies “could immediately smell a moderate odor of raw marijuana,” according to a police affidavit.

After checking Brown’s license and finding out it was suspended in Illinois, deputies attempted to arrest Brown, leading to a pursuit “at speeds of approximately 120 miles per hour.”

Deputies lost sight of Brown’s vehicle, then a passing motorist called dispatch and “observed the suspect vehicle turn into an emergency crossover and drop items onto the (roadside),” according to the affidavit.

Arrests made after stolen U-Haul tracked down in chase: Police – Ohio

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio– Two men from Cleveland are facing charges after police say they led officers in Trumbull County on two separate chases overnight.

What started as a Flock camera alert about a stolen U-Haul truck ended in the arrest of two Cleveland-area men. It all began around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Liberty.

“The officers attempted to stop that U-Haul truck that was entered stolen, and the driver decided not to stop,” said Liberty Township Police Captain Ray Buhala.

Police dash camera video shows the truck taking off North on State Route 11. Police say the chase reached speeds up to 80 miles per hour. It eventually ended when the driver ran across State Route 82 near Mahoning Avenue after going over stop sticks.

Man tased after wild incident on Interstate 29 near Brookings – South Dakota

BROOKINGS COUNTY — Tasers were used to subdue a Sioux Falls man following a high-speed chase on Interstate 29 on Tuesday night that included him trying to drive off in a deputy’s vehicle, according to a Wednesday news release from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan Gapp, 28, is facing 10 charges stemming from the incident. They, per information from a probable cause statement from the Brookings County State’s Attorney’s office, are:

• Aggravated eluding

• DUI 1st

• Ingestion of a controlled drug or substance as felony

• Reckless driving

• Possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated

• Commit or attempt to commit a felony with a firearm

• Resisting arrest

• Obstructing an officer, jailer or firefighter

• Maximum speeds on interstate (26 mph and over)

• Lane driving

Swan River Stolen Truck Stopped By Spikes – Canada

A stolen vehicle out of Swan River has led to arrests with numerous charges.

On April 4, 2024, at approximately 9:40 am, Swan River RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from Swan River. A suspect was reported to have entered a home, stolen keys, and then stole the homeowner’s vehicle.

The vehicle was seen on Valley Road at Highway 10, but refused to stop for police. The vehicle was later brought to a halt by a spike strip further down Highway 10.

two passengers were arrested and charged. the driver, 32-year-old Trisha Cook, has been charged with Breaking and entering, Theft of a Truck, two counts of flight from an officer, and driving under the influence to name some of the 8 charges and several tickets.

Iowa man arrested in Sturgis after pursuit that utilized new spike strips – South Dakota

STURGIS, S.D. – An Iowa man has been charged with Aggravated Assault against Law Enforcement, Aggravated Alluding, and ten more violations after a pursuit in Meade County early on April 8th.

A Meade County deputy observed a pickup truck driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-90 early Monday morning and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Andrew Carlson of Iowa then drove through the median and entered into the westbound lanes of the interstate, reaching speeds of 85 to 90 miles per hour.

Deputies informed Sturgis Police officers of the pursuit, and officers worked alongside deputies to set up spike strips near mile marker 32. The suspect tried to avoid the spikes and drove at a Sturgis officer. The officer moved out of the way, and the spike strips successfully deflated the tires of the pickup. Carlson continued to drive into Sturgis and came to a stop in front of a car dealership on Junction Avenue. Carlson then surrendered.

Wright Facing Kidnapping Charge In Incident In Which Girl Jumps Out Of Moving Car – Tennessee

Charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and vandalism have been filed by Chattanooga Police against 50-year-old Antonio in a case in which deputies engaged in an early morning pursuit after a girl jumped out of a moving vehicle to safety.

Wright was earlier charged by the county with felony evading arrest, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with the Chattanooga Police Department to what was originally dispatched as a person shooting into an apartment near the 6800 block of Spence Lane.

Southwest Washington man accused of firing on churches, leading deputies on I-5 chase – Washington

A string of drive-by shootings at Vancouver churches ended in a police chase down Interstate 5 early Tuesday morning, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

No one was hurt, but police arrested 23-year-old Aleksey Suturin of Vancouver on allegations of shooting a weapon from a moving car, first- and second-degree malicious mischief and attempting to elude police. Deputies said Suturin was wearing body armor at the time of his arrest and had a Sig Sauer handgun along with multiple 9mm pistol magazines.

The travail began around 1:40 a.m. when someone called 911 to report gunfire in the Walnut Grove area of Vancouver and then called back to say it was coming from the direction of Adventist Community Church on Northeast St. Johns Road. Deputies later found bullet holes in the front of the church and 9mm bullet casings in the parking lot.
