Police officer attacked with box cutter Australia

A MAN has been charged for allegedly attacking police with a box cutter in Frankston last month. At around 6.30pm on 22 March, police attended an address in Foame Avenue believing a stolen white Jeep to be there. They attempted to arrest a man, who then allegedly assaulted them. The man allegedly slashed one police officer with a box cutter before fleeing in the Jeep. Both police officers were taken to hospital.

Police chased the car through Cranbourne, and stopped it using stop sticks on Cranbourne Road. The man was arrested after a chase on-foot, police say.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with 28 offences – his charges included assault emergency worker whilst on duty, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, intentionally exposing emergency worker to risk by driving, driving after being given a direction to stop, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, theft of motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, and arson. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 17 June.



Teens arrested after crime spree using stolen Mooroolbark car – Australia

A vehicle, allegedly stolen from a Mooroolbark property in late March, was used by teens as an escape car before being picked up by police.

Five teenagers, aged between 15 and 17-years-old, were arrested and charged under Operation Trinity after a string of alleged offending and an extended follow through Melbourne on Wednesday morning.

The Nissan X-Trail was said to have been stolen from the driveway of a Mooroolbark house on 29 March. It was used by the teens to attended a convenience store in High Street, Armadale about 10.40pm on 2 April.

Some of the children allegedly stole the store attendant’s car keys before stealing his MG wagon parked outside the store.

Texas National Guard member charged with human smuggling – Texas

(NewsNation) — A Texas National Guard soldier, deployed to Eagle Pass as part of Gov. Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, was arrested Sunday for allegedly attempting to smuggle a migrant over the U.S.-Mexico border.

Texas’ Department of Public Safety confirmed in a statement to NewsNation that Savion Johnson, 26, is charged with evading arrest, smuggling of persons and unlawful carry of a weapon.

Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe said the soldier turned around when he approached a pop-up tactical Border Patrol checkpoint off Highway 674 that had only been operational for a few days.




Massive Crackdown on Youth Gang Activity: 50 Arrested in Melbourne’s West Ahead of School Holidays – Australia

In a concerted effort to combat youth gang activities and repeat offences among young people, Melbourne’s western suburbs witnessed the arrest of 50 individuals by the police. This operation, particularly focused ahead of the school holidays, aimed at enhancing community safety and security by preemptively targeting known offenders.

A notable incident during this operation occurred in Werribee, where a woman was walking home near Heaths Road and Rosella Avenue around 12:05 am on March 30. An unknown male, wielding a hammer, allegedly approached her, stole her handbag, and then fled in a grey Mitsubishi Lancer. The victim, fortunately unharmed, called emergency services. Police quickly spotted the vehicle, and after a brief pursuit aided by the Air Wing and the deployment of stop sticks, arrested a 35-year-old man from Rockbank. Found in the vehicle were a hammer and other stolen items. Charged with armed robbery, the suspect is scheduled to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on June 21.



Chicago Man’s Chase on Interstate 57, Route 17 Leads to Crashes, Ending in Will County – Illinois

Kankakee County, IL – A dramatic police pursuit through Kankakee and Will counties, involving a stolen SUV from University Park, resulted in several collisions, a high school lockdown, and the arrest of a Chicago man. The chase started after agents from the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force located the stolen vehicle at a Momence residence. As agents approached, the driver, identified as 25-year-old Brice A. Mixon of Chicago, rammed an agent’s vehicle and initiated a high-speed escape.

Mixon’s desperate attempt to evade capture led him through several towns, onto Route 17 and Interstate 57, causing multiple collisions with innocent motorists’ vehicles. The pursuit caused a temporary lockdown at Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School, ensuring the safety of students as the chase unfolded nearby. Eventually, law enforcement used stop sticks to disable the vehicle in Will County, leading to Mixon’s apprehension after a brief foot chase.

Ross County Pursuit Ends in Arrest Following Stolen Vehicle Incident – Ohio

In a series of events that unfolded on April 3, 2024, law enforcement agencies were engaged in a pursuit stemming from a stolen vehicle incident near the Ross County/Jackson County line.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when the Ohio State Highway Patrol terminated a pursuit after identifying a stolen vehicle, a Silver Nissan Sentra with Ohio license plates, previously reported by the Wellston Police Department.

The pursuit escalated as the vehicle, described as a grey Nissan Sentra, was spotted westbound on US 35 near the US 50 exit ramp in Ross County. Ross County Sheriff’s deputies and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers mobilized in pursuit, with officers deploying stop sticks in an attempt to halt the vehicle.

Mulga murder suspect shot by police following chase identified – Alabama

An alleged murder suspect was hospitalized Thursday afternoon following a chase and shootout with police in Jefferson County.

Around 10:30 a.m., deputies performing a welfare check in Mulga found 46-year-old Lakechia Bryant lying on the floor of a home at 216 2nd Avenue, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She had been shot during a reported domestic assault, according to the Coroner’s Office.

Hours later, around 1 p.m., police were notified that a potential suspect was within the Adamsville city limits, according to the Adamsville Police Department.

Officers deployed a spike trap, which successfully deflated the vehicle’s tires but did not stop the suspect, who continued to drive at a low speed before crashing near Glascow Hollow Road and Cherry Avenue in Graysville

Bedford man arrested in N.H. accused of going more than 100 mph on I-93 – Massachusetts

A Massachusetts man is accused of driving more than 100 mph on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire over the weekend and failing to stop for police, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement.

Jonathen Petrie, 32, of Bedford, faces charges of reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and resisting arrest, and other “violation-level offenses,” police said.

At 2:29 a.m. on March 30, a New Hampshire State Police trooper saw a car traveling at a speed of more than 100 mph and “failing to maintain its lane of travel” on I-93 in Londonderry.

The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, which was going north on the highway, but the driver continued at a high speed and refused to pull over, according to the statement.

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from multiple other law enforcement agencies, arrested a Lincoln man following a pursuit that crossed three counties overnight.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Monday, NSP was notified that Butler County Sheriff’s Deputies were in pursuit of a Toyota Rav4 that had fled when a deputy attempted to check on it as it was stopped on the side of the road. A trooper was able to locate the pursuit as it was traveling westbound on Highway 92.

The pursuit traveled through Polk County and into Merrick County, where NSP took over the primary position in the pursuit. In Merrick County, the Central City Police Department was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle. The Toyota then came to a stop west of the Highway 14/Highway 92 intersection.

Updated:Police Pursuit Ends with Arrest After Suspect Flees in Stolen Vehicle (Video) – Washington

Update April 4th: This is video from King County Sheriff Air Support (KCSAS) of the pursuit on I-90 April 3rd between Factoria and North Bend.

Bellevue PD called for KCSAS TO help after they initiated a pursuit of a stolen car that rammed their patrol cars near Factoria. They caught up to the pursuit in Snoqualmie. Snoqualmie PD successfully used a spike-strip and managed to disable the car.

The suspect managed to escape from the first car and steal a second vehicle in Snoqualmie and continued to flee – at one point driving the wrong way on I-90. The suspect eventually crashed the car in North Bend and fled on foot where he was arrested.
