A woman is in custody after leading Olivia police on a high-speed chase Tuesday evening. A police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near Highway 212 and 14th Street in Olivia. The officer made the stop and the vehicle initially pulled over but shortly after stopping, the driver accelerated and fled westbound on Highway 212. Other law enforcement were called in for assistance. The suspect vehicle continued west of Olivia reaching speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. A Renville County Sheriff’s Deputy successful deployed stop sticks and the vehicle eventually came to a stop. A responding deputy was forced off the road by the vehicle to avoid a collision. The driver was arrested without incident on felony charges and was taken to the Renville County jail where she is awaiting arraignment.
A Kansas City, Kansas, woman was arrested early Thursday after leading law enforcement through west Lawrence, Kansas, in a chase.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy first attempted to pull the vehicle over around 12:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 59 four miles south of Lawrence after noticing it was speeding. The driver, a 39-year-old KCK woman, did not pull over and fled after the deputy turned on lights and sirens.
The woman drove “recklessly” through Lawrence and on highways nearby, the sheriff’s office said.
She also drove through a yard in the 1800 block of Sweetwater Court and into oncoming traffic on the South Lawrence Trafficway near Bob Billings Parkway and Iowa Street.
Deputies were able to stop her using a “tactical-vehicle intervention” on Kansas Highway 10 between Iowa Street and Haskell Avenue. Lawrence, Kansas, police also assisted by deploying stop sticks to deflate the vehicle’s tires.
A deputy with the Kalamazoo County Sheriffs Department is being heralded after he spotted and stopped a wrong-way driver on US-131, the busy expressway that connects Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
The incident occurred in the overnight hours of March 26.
The deputy was driving southbound on US-131 approaching the D Ave exit. At about :35 in the video you can see a pair of headlights in the northbound lanes heading the same direction as the sheriff patrol – southbound.
The deputy activates his lights and speeds to an access point where he could get ahead of the wrong-way driver.
As he’s driving to attempt the intercept, several cars can be seen properly heading northbound and towards a potential collision with the improperly southbound-headed car.
At 2:05 in the video, the deputy can be seen striking the driver’s vehicle with stop sticks and saying ‘good hit, good hit’ meaning the tires were flattened leading the driver to pull over.

BARNESVILLE – The man accused of stealing multiple cars, breaking into homes, and leading police on a multi-county chase ending in our area is facing homicide charges in Connecticut.
Isaac Cintron, 32, of New Haven, Connecticut, was charged in the death of a 43-year-old New Haven man on Christmas Eve last year.
According to New Haven Police, Heriberto Cotto was found with gunshot wounds around 8pm on Dec. 24, 2024. He was pronounced dead at a New Haven hospital.
New Haven Police said the two men had been in an argument prior to the shooting.
About a week later, on Dec. 30, Butler Township (Luzerne County) Police attempted to stop Cintron driving a stolen car in their area.
He fled instead, firing shots at police. He then broke into a home and stole another car, according to State Police at Hazleton.
That car was seen on Interstate 80 and state troopers attempted to pull it over. A pursuit ensued, ending on Route 54 in the Barnesville area.
Spike strips were set on Route 54 between Marian Avenue and Fairview Drive, ending the pursuit.
Ohio police apprehended a fugitive wanted on multiple outstanding warrants following a high-speed crash Saturday, marking the 29th time the suspect had been arrested.
The pursuit between Alliance police and a suspect identified as William Woolf, 41, began at about 7 p.m., WOIO-TV reports. Dashboard and body camera footage released Tuesday captured the chase and the arrest.
During the pursuit, Woolf reached speeds of 105 mph. He also threw objects at the officers’ cruisers, including a tire iron and even chocolate milk.
Woolf continued fleeing on two flat tires. Police deployed spike strips, which disabled Woolf’s vehicle.
The chase ended when Woolf crashed into a sign and his car stopped in a field. Officers descended on the vehicle, and he was taken into custody.
A man was arrested after a vehicle pursuit Tuesday as deputies sought a suspect in a home invasion along with threats made at a credit union in Monroe County, Michigan.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office got involved about 10:30 a.m., after staff at Monroe County Community Credit Union on North Dixie Highway in Frenchtown Township reported someone made threats to them and demanded money, according to a press release from the department.
That suspect drove off in a silver Chevrolet Impala before a deputy arrived.
In the meantime, someone matching the suspect’s description and vehicle description was reported to be involved in a home invasion that morning in the 8700 block of Swan Creek Road.
The deputy then saw the vehicle near the credit union branch, on North Dixie Highway near the Woodland Beach subdivision. While the suspect initially pulled over during a traffic stop, the sheriff’s office said, he quickly drove off.
That deputy started a pursuit northbound on North Dixie Highway.
Another deputy set out stop sticks at the intersection of North Dixie Highway and Pointe Aux Peaux Road, damaging both front tires of the suspect vehicle.
The man continued driving at a slower speed, with two flat front tires, until he reached Trombley Road in Berlin Township. Officers said that’s where they took him into custody without further incident.
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Jermaine Daniels, 43, on charges of fleeing and causing a child to be endangered.
On March 24, around 9 p.m., officers saw a grey Chevrolet Malibu without an illuminated registration light.
Officials attempted to complete a traffic stop after the car crossed the Whitman Street Bridge when he fled the scene, according to court records.
Authorities deployed stop sticks at Montegue and West, causing the vehicle to stop. There was a 7-month-old child not in a car seat, court documents show.
Daniels told officers he was fleeing because he did not have a valid license.
He is charged with aggravated fleeing, not having a registration light, driving on a revoked license and causing a child to be endangered.
WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — A Creedmoor man with a revoked license was arrested after a chase in Wake Forest that ended in front of a high school, officials said.
The incident began as a traffic stop around 2:30 p.m. along Durham Road in Wake Forest, according to the Wake Forest Police Department.
The driver fled from police and drove at least 15 mph over the speed limit, according to an arrest warrant.
Officers later set up spike strips to deflate the tires of the car driven by the suspect, police said.
After deploying the tire deflation devices, the driver stopped at 12300 Old Falls of Neuse Road, which is the entrance to Wakefield High School.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said a 19-year-old man late Saturday led city police on a chase from the South Side to Warren in a car that had no back tires.
Pearce was arrested about 10:20 p.m. on Bane Avenue SW in Warren after a chase that began almost 30 minutes earlier at Mineral Springs Avenue and Volney Road.
Reports said Pearce was driving a stolen car that was chased by Boardman police, who ended the pursuit when the car entered Youngstown. City police picked up the car at Mineral Springs Avenue and Volney Road but it would not stop, reports said.
Reports said when city police picked up the chase, the car only had one back tire.
Police put out stop sticks at Glenwood Avenue and Mercer Street and blew out the second back tire, but the car still would not stop. Instead, it headed west up Mahoning Avenue to North Meridian Road before turning and heading north.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department’s crackdown on intoxicated driving continued during the weekend of March 21-23, as five drivers were arrested on charges of DUI 1st.
One of the incidents saw a 38-year-old White female brought into custody for DUI 1st and possessing an open container. Upon being pulled over on Beaucastle Road — following the suspect’s verbal altercation with a neighbor and alleged commission of animal abuse — the subject was apprehended after an initial unsuccessful attempt.
When approaching the black Mercedes-Benz SUV, police encountered an argumentative and non-cooperative individual who declined to roll down her window or provide a license and registration. She went as far as locking her doors, prompting Mount Pleasant officers to place stop sticks under the vehicle.
