I-94 pursuit results in arrests  Minnesota

Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in catching the driver occupants of a stolen vehicle near Fergus Falls, on Sep. 24.

According to a statement from Fergus Falls Police Chief Kile Bergren, at around 3:50 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol was advised of a driving complaint on westbound Interstate 94 involving a silver Toyota Avalon driving erratically and at a high rate of speed. The caller also indicated that it appeared the occupants were smoking marijuana. The MSP advised officers that the vehicle was listed as a stolen car and was involved in a pursuit earlier in the western part of the Minneapolis metropolitan area.

Police have arrested two teenage boys in an allegedly stolen car traveling at nearly double the speed limit in Melbourne’s north this morning. Fawkner Highway Patrol members spotted a stolen Mitsubishi Lancer traveling at more than 140km/h on the Tullamarine Freeway at Moonee Ponds shortly after 12am.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the city of Cornelius got information that a wanted person had been seen near her home and then got into the passenger seat of a car. The passenger was 26-year-old Ana Juarez Santoyo of Cornelius and she was wanted for an incident in early September when she threatened to shoot an adult and four children. Deputies later identified the driver as 24-year-old Bianca Gonzalez Vargas who also lives in Cornelius.

A woman was arrested and a vehicle stolen in Portland was recovered Sunday following a string of hit-and-runs in Clark County. Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency dispatchers received calls around 10:50 a.m. about a reckless driver involved in multiple hit-and-runs. The vehicle was first reported at the intersection of Northeast 99th Street and Highway 99, according to a Clark County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A Laurel woman was issued a no-contact order with Laurel Elementary School after she allegedly slashed the tires of two school employees after a school-related disagreement, and threatened a school official. Several days later, Laurel officers spotted 36 year old Crystal Brummell parked near the school, but when officers attempted a traffic stop she drove off, but officers broke off the chase.

A 34-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour early this morning, according to a Cheyenne Police Department spokesman. Capt. David Janes says the incident started when police spotted a white GMC pickup driven by 34-year-old Nathan Morgan doing a ‘burnout” and driving recklessly in the area of Converse and 11th Street around 1:20 am this morning [Sept. 24].

Police said they first saw the vehicle driving erratically on the Princes Freeway in Laverton, about 30 kilometres south-west of the CBD, just before 7:30pm. The air wing unit monitored the vehicle as it approached the Duncans Road intersection at Werribee, where it was allegedly observed travelling at 233kph. The speed limit on that section of road was 100kph.

According to an FPD news release, police responded to the Berry Farms neighborhood at 5:10 a.m. after a citizen reported seeing vehicle burglaries, but FPD said that the suspects moved to the Stream Valley neighborhood before they arrived.

There, according to investigators, a fire truck valued at around $500,000 was stolen while it was parked in front of the Gloversville fire department.

Montavious Lewis, 17, was indicted on one count each of fleeing/attempting to elude an obstruction of an officer. Back in May, Lewis reportedly carjacked a work truck in Sparta and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Milledgeville. The incident occurred during the lunch rush downtown, where a number of people were celebrating graduations and the beginning of the holiday weekend. As the chase came barreling toward town, Milledgeville Police Department officers were in the process of laying “spike strips” on Ga. 22 at the river bridge when the truck came into view.

An Omak teen was trying to outrun Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office Deputies on Sep. 20. At 5:11 p.m., a deputy saw a white car cross over into the opposite lane while going southbound Old Highway 97 through Malott. When spotted, the 19-year-old driver Clement Joseph slowed down to try and avoid a speeding ticket, but was caught going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The Ford refused to stop and the deputy pursued it onto the Blue Ridge Parkway, crossing into Nelson and Rockbridge counties.

MILTON, Del. – Two people are behind bars after police say they fled from an attempted traffic stop early Thursday morning. Just before 1:30 a.m., a trooper on patrol in the Milton area observed a silver 2021 Nissan Altima traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound Coastal Highway, north of Cave Neck Road. The trooper reportedly tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver ignored the trooper’s emergency equipment and accelerated away on southbound Coastal Highway. Another trooper in the Lewes area was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to disable the Altima, which eventually came to a stop in the area of the Crab House restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.

That should be an obvious no-no, but it didn’t stop 30-year-old Chelsea Horsley from allegedly taking a joyride in a vehicle belonging to the Shelby Police. Citing the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Fox 46 is reporting an officer with the department stopped and exited his vehicle to talk to someone around 11 p.m. on September 4th. As this was happening, Horsley allegedly got into the vehicle and took off.

Two suspects are in custody after a high-speed chase through several northwest Iowa counties. According to the Le Mars Police Department, at about 8:45 Monday evening, an officer tried stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation. Police say the vehicle did not stop and a pursuit began. The vehicle reportedly fled up Highway 75 onto Highway 60 where officers deployed stop sticks deflating the vehicle’s tires and stopping it just south of Sheldon.

A man sought on traffic charges following a Friday night incident in Smithton was apprehended Saturday morning in Columbia after fleeing from his vehicle following a pursuit. At about 10:45 p.m. Friday, Columbia police were alerted to a blue 2001 Honda being pursued by Smithton police on Route 158 near Route 3. Columbia officers deployed stop sticks on Route 3 in an attempt to slow the fleeing vehicle, and the attempt was successful as at least one of the tires was punctured.
