“Stop Stick Hit of the Month: June” is Stop Stick Ltd.’s program to recognize outstanding performance results from the successful deployment of the Stop Stick® Tire Deflation Device in ending pursuits. In fact, every month, hundreds of reports are received nationwide, documenting successful deployments of Stop Sticks®. Furthermore, these reports detail stories of exceptional police work and the proper deployment of the Stop Stick Tire Deflation Device to bring pursuits to a safe conclusion.
Therefore, below are the departments nominated from the hundreds of submissions and those selected as the “Hit of the Month: June 2025.”

Stop Stick® Hit of the Month: June – Flock Camera Hit leads to Precision Stop Stick® Deployment Quickly Ending a High Speed Pursuit, Before it Could Get Out Of Hand.
We proudly name Lt. M. Melton of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office as our June Stop Stick® Hit of the Month winner. Specifically, his flawless deployment on June 25 safely ended a high-speed pursuit, leading to the capture of a suspect with an arrest warrant in a stolen vehicle.
Stop Stick Hit of the Month: June – A Coordinated, Safe Intervention
The incident began when the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office received a Flock Camera alert. Following this alert, deputies quickly located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver immediately fled, thereby initiating a high-speed chase that reached speeds of up to 110 mph.
Meanwhile, as the suspect sped away, Lt. Melton had already positioned himself at a safe location approximately one mile ahead of the pursuit. While remaining in constant communication with the pursuing deputy, he first retrieved his Stop Stick tire deflation device and then deployed it to the opposite shoulder of the road.
Flawless Deployment and a Safe End
Lt. Melton’s precise timing was key. Indeed, he deployed the Stop Stick just as the stolen vehicle approached, and this action consequently flattened all four of its tires. As a result, with no way to continue the chase, the suspect quickly gave up.
Due to the successful deployment, the vehicle came to a complete stop less than a mile after hitting the Stop Stick, allowing for the safe apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
In conclusion, we want to congratulate Lt. Melton and the entire St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Ultimately, this deployment is a prime example of how coordinated efforts, advanced technology, and the tactical use of Stop Stick can quickly and safely end even the most determined attempts to elude capture.

We’re proud to recognize the outstanding actions of Officer Cope with the Forest City Police Department. Specifically, his Stop Stick deployment led directly to the safe termination of a high-speed pursuit involving an intoxicated driver and a neighboring agency.
The Pursuit Begins
Early Sunday morning on June 22, the Shelby Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle, as they suspected the driver was under the influence. However, upon attempting the traffic stop, the suspect vehicle did not comply with the officers’ flashing lights, instead prompting a pursuit. The suspect led Shelby Police on a lengthy chase, fleeing down Hwy 74 at nearly 100 mph. As a result, the officers continued the pursuit with caution.
Stop Stick in Action
County Communications requested assistance from the Forest City Police as a pursuit entered their jurisdiction. In response, Officer Cope quickly drove ahead to a safe location to deploy Stop Sticks. After advising other officers to back off, he deployed the sticks, consequently flattening both of the vehicle’s left-side tires. As a result, the driver pulled over a mile later and was taken into custody without further incident. Ultimately, this successful deployment demonstrates how Stop Sticks can safely end a dangerous pursuit when a suspect refuses to comply, thereby saving lives.

Stop Stick® June 2025 Runner-Up: Red Bank Police Help Bring a Fugitive to Justice
This month, we’re proud to recognize the quick thinking and multi-jurisdictional teamwork that brought a dangerous fugitive to justice. In light of this, we are honored to name Officer M. Glenn of the Red Bank Police Department as a runner-up for our Stop Stick® Hit of the Month award.
Stop Stick Hit of the Month: June: A Coordinated Effort
On the afternoon of June 23, Red Bank Police were called to assist the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force in a pursuit of a suspect wanted on numerous felony warrants. In the initial phase of the pursuit, the suspect’s reckless, high-speed driving had forced Hamilton County Deputies to call off their chase. However, a vigilant dispatcher intervened and advised Red Bank Officers that the fugitive was headed their way.
As a result of this timely information, Det. Dennis observed the suspect’s vehicle. He noted that the vehicle was recklessly weaving in and out of oncoming traffic at speeds of 101 mph, ultimately showing a complete disregard for the safety of others.
Strategic Deployment and Safe Termination
A suspect’s dangerous pursuit ended after Red Bank Officer Glenn used a Stop Stick, flattening the vehicle’s left tires. Although the suspect tried to continue fleeing, they crashed after nearly causing a head-on collision. Following a brief foot chase, officers arrested the suspect on nearby train tracks. Consequently, the suspect now faces additional felony charges for evading and reckless endangerment. Ultimately, this successful operation is a testament to the Stop Stick’s role in safely ending a dangerous pursuit and saving lives.

This month, we’re proud to recognize a swift and safe intervention by the Oakley Police Department. In particular, our nominee for the Western Region is an officer who responded to a domestic incident and is being recognized for preventing a dangerous escape using Stop Stick®.
Stop Stick Hit of the Month: June: A Critical, Timely Deployment
The incident began when Oakley Officers received a call about a domestic dispute. Upon arriving, they found a woman had used her vehicle to pin another individual between two cars. As officers moved to intervene, the suspect fled the scene in reverse, thereby prompting a pursuit.
With foresight and tactical coordination, a responding officer anticipated the suspect’s escape route and deployed a Stop Stick along the road. Ultimately, the deployment was a success, as it flattened three of the suspect’s tires as she drove over the device.
Ending a Dangerous Pursuit
The pursuit continued for several miles at much lower speeds due to the flat tires. Ultimately, and with her escape thwarted, the suspect finally pulled over and surrendered to pursuing officers without further incident.
According to the reporting officer, “Once again, one of our vehicle pursuits was made much safer due to Stop Stick’s use.” Indeed, this deployment serves as a powerful reminder that Stop Stick provides a critical tool for ending dangerous situations quickly and safely, protecting both the public and law enforcement officers.
