An 18-year-old man was arrested after he led officers on a chase that included driving the wrong way on Interstate 77 Tuesday night, police said. The incident began at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, when a Parma police officer spotted a white Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on Brookpark Road near Ridge Road, according to police. The officer checked the vehicle’s temporary registration and found the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license, police said. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle with lights and sirens activated. Police said the driver of the Fusion sped away, reaching speeds up to 100 mph, according to the report. Finally, an officer working traffic control in a construction zone deployed stop sticks, which ended the pursuit.

San Diego County deputies arrested 41-year-old Laura Partida, who now sits behind bars on $1.025 million bail after executing a chaotic crime spree through Rancho Santa Fe. The incident began when 4S Ranch Sheriff’s Substation deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle parked oddly across a driveway with its engine running. Inside, they found Partida talking to herself after she had crashed a stolen vehicle into a guardrail. Immediately following that crash, she stole a second car from a good Samaritan who had stopped to help. When deputies moved in, Partida backed around a patrol cruiser to escape. Although deputies deployed a spike strip directly in front of the vehicle, she ran over it anyway. Consequently, she rammed her way through a nearby neighborhood and struck a resident twice before deputies finally cornered her inside a stranger’s garage.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the case began when a deputy stopped Walker on U.S. 1 after observing his Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling approximately 70 mph in a posted 35-mph zone. During the traffic stop, deputies learned that Walker’s driver’s license was suspended indefinitely. They determined that the truck’s registration had expired and there was no valid insurance on the vehicle. While deputies were still investigating those violations, Walker drove away from the stop. Deputies pursued Walker for 10 miles with emergency lights and sirens activated. Walker averaged approximately 109 mph or higher during the pursuit, including while traveling through areas with speed limits of 35 mph. Deputies deployed spike strips, which deflated the truck’s two front tires and brought the pursuit to an end. Walker refused to get out of the vehicle. Deputies removed him from the truck and took him into custody.

7. September 8th Stop Stick News – Billings man sentenced to 14 years for trafficking meth with firearm – Montana

Source: United States Attorney’s Office District of Montana | Curated By: Keri Leggett

Federal court documents detail that Long periodically traveled to Colorado to purchase methamphetamine, which he subsequently resold in Billings. Through their investigation, law enforcement discovered that Long trafficked meth while using a firearm for protection. In June 2025, officers executed a search warrant on his residence and seized three guns and ammunition, violating his status as a convicted felon prohibited from owning firearms. Later, in July 2025, officers tracked Long’s vehicle on another Colorado trip and attempted a traffic stop in Big Horn County. Long immediately fled, forcing officers to deploy a spike strip to halt his vehicle. During the high-speed pursuit, Long tossed three pounds of meth from his car onto the highway, which officers later recovered alongside an additional firearm, meth, and fentanyl found at his house.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona announced that federal prosecutors charged 293 people with immigration-related offenses during a single week of enforcement operations. According to court filings, Border Patrol agents spotted a Honda Accord heading south on Federal Route 19 toward the Mexico border on Aug. 21, before watching it return north shortly after.
