8. September 28th Stop Stick News – Teen avoids serious punishment in Massachusetts high-speed chase – Massachusetts

Source: WJAR10 | By: Brian Crandall

A Connecticut teenager resolves a court case in which he was accused of leading police in Massachusetts on a high-speed chase. A Mattapoisett officer estimated the driver to be going about 90 mph at one point, twice the speed limit. Kreidel entered a plea to admission to sufficient facts on a reckless driving charge. It is not a guilty plea, but it means Kreidel acknowledged there were enough facts to prove the case. Kreidel is under administrative probation/supervision for six months. The charge would likely be dismissed if he stays out of trouble and completes the Massachusetts Brains at Risk program. Police body camera video showed officers throwing spike strips across the road to stop the car driven by Kreidel that night. An officer wrote the driver made “many dangerous maneuvers at high speeds” and “it’s hard to believe the vehicle did not roll over.”

Consequently, the driver increased her speed to about 120 mph, according to the sheriff’s office.
