VENETA, Ore. – A chase that involved law enforcement through Veneta early on Friday ended in the arrest of a 43-year-old Junction City man on multiple charges and an outstanding warrant, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said that a deputy attempted to pulled over a motorist who was allegedly driving through Veneta at high speed just after midnight on November 8. The driver, identified as Timothy Robert Graham, reportedly refused to stop and allegedly tried to elude the pursuing deputy, authorities said. Sheriff’s officials said that spike strips successfully deflated one of the tires on Graham’s vehicle before a deputy forcibly stopped Graham with a PIT maneuver in the 80900 block of Territorial Road. While Graham and another occupant were initially detained, Graham’s passenger was released and provided with a ride from the scene, authorities said.
LCSO officials said that Graham was cited for multiple traffic violations and was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail, where he faces charges that include attempt to elude by vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and felon in possession of a restricted weapon. Graham also had a Klamath County warrant for failing to appear in court on an unlawful use of a vehicle charge. Jail records show that Graham is still in custody as of November 11, 2024.
On Monday around 3:18 am, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a phone call from a female complainant requesting a civil standby to obtain some personal items from an address on Loflin Road in the Florence area after a domestic dispute.
While deputies were enroute to the residence, the female caller stated that the suspect, Jason Salter, had attempted to assault her with a chainsaw and carjacked her vehicle then fled the location in her silver Toyota Camry.
After a deputy spotted the carjacked vehicle, he attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which time the suspect failed to yield and a motor vehicle pursuit ensued. The Florence Police Department, Richland Police Department, and Pearl Police Department assisted as the vehicle traveled north to Hwy 80 then fled west into the City of Jackson.
After the successful use of spike strips the vehicle lost a tire and crashed at the intersection of Hwy 80 and Gallatin Street. After the crash the suspect resisted and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after the deployment of a taser.
The suspect was treated by medical personnel on scene then cleared and transported to the Rankin County Detention Center.
A woman who was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend in El Monte was released after a 21-mile freeway pursuit through Los Angeles and Orange counties that at one point slowed to a crawl.
According to the El Monte Police Department, the man showed up at the woman’s place of work in the 10300 block of Lower Azusa Road just before 6 p.m. Saturday. The two argued before the man forced the woman into her car and drove away, police said. The woman called a friend, who tracked the car via the Find My app on her iPhone and contacted law enforcement.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department helicopter located the car on the 5 Freeway in the area of Commerce and notified the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP attempted a traffic stop, but the man continued to drive, leading law enforcement on a chase for more than 20 miles.
“Spike strips were utilized to puncture the vehicle’s tires which caused it to become inoperable and yield” near the 405 Freeway and Westminster Avenue, police said in a statement.
But first, multiple law enforcement vehicles slowly tailed the vehicle as it inched onward in a slow-speed pursuit, KCAL-TV News footage showed, until the car finally came to a stop.
Police have arrested a man and woman in East Keilor this morning after they entered a dead-end street in a stolen vehicle.
Members on patrol in the Sunbury van first spotted the Landcruiser on the Calder Freeway about 2.30am.
Officers checked the vehicle which came up as an outstanding stolen serial, believed stolen from an airport carpark on 3 November.
The Air Wing was called into assist members on the ground as the vehicle travelled through Sunbury, Taylors Lakes and into Keilor Park.
Police successfully deployed stop sticks on Keilor Park Drive however the driver continued to drive and shredded several tyres.
The driver turned into Clarks Road in East Keilor which was a dead-end street so with no where to go, the pair surrendered to police.
A 28-year-old man from Bacchus Marsh and a 30-year-old woman from Sunbury were arrested and have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possess drugs believed to be methamphetamine and ecstasy and going equipped to steal.
They have been bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 30 April.
QUAPAW, Okla. — A high-speed chase that began in Joplin ended, ironically, at a tire shop in Quapaw after police deployed stop sticks, deflating the vehicle’s tires.
The folks at Karnes Pro-Tire and Auto thought they just had a new customer as this red SUV came rolling in with two flat tires. But they got a surprise when nearly ten officers sped in behind the vehicle, realizing it was actually the end of a high-speed chase.
Authorities say Logan Morang, 33, is suspected in a robbery and believe the vehicle was stolen.
The chase went down I-44 and exited at mile marker one, just before the Oklahoma state line. They went into Baxter Springs and then south, stopping just inside Oklahoma at Karnes.
Witnesses watched as Morang argued with police, finally getting out and running into the shop.
LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A shooting suspect in a minivan evaded law enforcement during an erratic and lengthy chase through Los Angeles County but was ultimately apprehended on the 5 Freeway after a successful spike strip attempt.
The chase, which lasted more than an hour, ended with a standoff on the 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road in the Castaic area. Several California Highway Patrol officers approached the suspect and arrested her without incident.
At one point during the standoff, the suspect exited the minivan holding a dog that was in the passenger seat during the pursuit.
Los Angeles police say the suspect may be connected to a shooting in Echo Park that wounded two people.
AIR7 was over the pursuit just before 4:40 p.m. Thursday as the female driver fled in a minivan on the northbound 170 Freeway in North Hollywood.
The pursuit almost ended in Sun Valley when police cornered the suspect, but she made a U-turn and maneuvered past several police cars.
From there, the suspect got on the 5 Freeway and entered the Santa Clarita Valley.
The chase eventually came to an end after the suspect drove over a spike strip that flattened at least one tire.
Three people were arrested last week when state troopers and area police officers shut down two street takeovers in New Haven.
The arrests came Friday as New Haven police, officers from area departments and Connecticut State Police partnered for a detail aimed at proactively preventing street takeovers, according to the New Haven Police Department.
Around 11:15 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Shelton Avenue and Bassett Street and spotted a blue Crown Victoria surrounded by a circle of spectators, police said.
Police noted that multiple thefts of municipal Crown Victorias have been reported around the state in recent weeks. One of them is believed to have been involved in several incidents, including one reported on Oct. 19 when Interstate 95 was shut down at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge.
When officers tried to stop the vehicle the driver took off, prompting officers to deploy stop sticks and a Starchase GPS device, police said. Police pursued the vehicle until its right rear tire came off the car at the entrance to Interstate 91 North.
The driver abandoned the car and took off running, police said. He was apprehended after a foot chase and has been identified as 18-year-old David Reyes of Wolcott, according to police.
ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A Missouri man arrested in Freeborn County with over 300 grams of cocaine is pleading not guilty.
A trial is now set to begin on March 31, 2025, for Kevin Eugene Jordan, 37 of Kansas City, MO. He is charged with first-degree possession of cocaine, receiving stolen property, and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified around 2:25 am on September 8 of a reportedly stolen vehicle driving with its lights off on southbound Interstate 35. A deputy says he located the suspect vehicle, pulled in behind it, and turned on his emergency lights. The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect vehicle continued to drive without its lights on, switching from lane to lane, and going speeds ranging from 70 to 120 miles per hour.
Law enforcement deployed stop sticks, which the vehicle drove over near the junction of Interstate 35 and Interstate 90. The suspect vehicle continued down the road until a deputy was able to force it into the west ditch.
State troopers arrested an Ohio man and rescued an abducted child following a wild chase Saturday that started near Overton and ended about 80 miles away near Arnold.
Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said the patrol received information Saturday afternoon from the Columbus, Ohio police that a man suspected of child abduction might be traveling west on I-80 in Nebraska.
The child, a three-year-old, was believed to be in the vehicle, which was a GMC Sierra, the Ohio police said.
Troopers saw the vehicle and tried to pull it over near Overton, but the suspect refused to yield and a pursuit ensued.
Thomas said the Sierra reached speeds around 100 mph and passed vehicles on the shoulder of I-80. Out of concern for the child and other motorists, troopers dropped pursuit and issued alerts to other law enforcement.
A short time later, Dawson County 911 received a report of the suspicious vehicle northbound on Cozad Road into Custer County. The vehicle turned west onto NE Highway 40 near Callaway. Troopers deployed spot sticks, but the driver kept going. A trooper reengaged the pursuit.

A deputy then conducted a “pursuit intervention technique” (PIT) to stop the vehicle in the 80900 block of Territorial Road.
Two occupants were initially detained.
