1. May 25th Stop Stick News: ISP Fort Wayne troopers report on two weekend pursuits – Indiana

Last Saturday night, a police chase began in Michigan and crossed into Indiana after 21-year-old Jefferson Ridgway fled authorities. Consequently, Ridgway crashed twice before Indiana State Police ultimately arrested him. Meanwhile, a separate incident unfolded early Sunday morning when a trooper attempted to pull over David Garcia for erratic driving in Fort Wayne. Instead of stopping, Garcia fled the scene. In response, police deployed stop sticks near Creighton and Barr, which successfully slowed his vehicle down. Although the flattened tires forced him to stop, Garcia then attempted to flee on foot; however, officers quickly caught and arrested him.

2. May 25th Stop Stick News: Nevada Domestic Assault Suspect Caught And Arrested – Nevada

Monday morning, May 18th, 2026, Nevada Police were dispatched to a hotel in the 2400 block of Marvel St. regarding a domestic assault that possibly involved a firearm. Officers responded to the area and observed what appeared to be a confrontation occurring in the parking lot. As officers began arriving on scene, the alleged suspect entered a black Chevy Silverado and attempted to leave the location. Nevada Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver failed to yield, initiating a pursuit. The driver fled northbound on I-49, where Nevada Police, and Vernon County Deputies continued the pursuit. The pursuit eventually entered Bates County, where Bates County Deputies successfully deployed stop sticks on the interstate north of Rich Hill and near Highway 52, ultimately disabling the vehicle.

3. May 25th Stop Stick News: Youngstown police use spike strips to stop suspected stolen car during chase – Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said police early Saturday had to use spike strips to stop a car that had been reported stolen from Columbiana County. The man police said was driving the car, 34-year-old Korey Koran, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, and receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. Reports said police tried to pull the car over about 2:25 a.m. on McCartney Road near Fincastle Lane, but it failed to stop and led officers on a chase reaching up to 75 miles per hour to the West Side. Police put out spike strips at North Belle Vista and Mahoning Avenues and managed to puncture two of the car’s tires, reports said.

4. May 25th Stop Stick News: Kissimmee Deputies Hunt Suspects After Spike-Strip Stop On U.S. 192 – Florida

What started as a late-night traffic stop on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway quickly turned into a footrace, and Osceola County deputies are still looking for the people who ran. The sheriff’s office said that around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, deputies tried to stop a vehicle on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway near Inspiration Drive. Spike strips were deployed, puncturing the car’s tires, but the occupants bailed out and took off on foot. Investigators later reported finding drugs inside the abandoned vehicle, and as of Sunday no one had been arrested. According to WESH, deputies first spotted the vehicle around 11:15 p.m. in the same area and used spike strips in an effort to safely bring it to a stop. The outlet reports that while the strips did their job on the tires, deputies never got the chance to get the people in the car into custody before they ran.

5. May 25th Stop Stick News: Suspect in custody after chase, tense standoff in South Gate – California

Officers responded to a possible domestic violence suspect around 7:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department, which triggered a short pursuit. Consequently, the chase ended at what appeared to be an apartment complex on Elizabeth Street. During the tense standoff that followed, the suspect acted erratically and waved what appeared to be a butcher knife. In response, police shot him with a less-than-lethal round. However, AIR7 captured footage as the suspect got back into a car and drove it over a spike strip that police had set up at the end of the driveway, advancing toward the patrol units. Ultimately, the suspect surrendered after about 20 minutes, and officers took him into custody.

6. May 25th Stop Stick News: Summerville man arrested after leading deputies on multi-agency pursuit – South Carolina

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday, a high-speed vehicle pursuit reaching 80 mph traveled from Orangeburg into Dorchester County. Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies took the lead in the chase at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 178. As the pursuit continued, responding deputies strategically positioned themselves along the route. They successfully deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Highway 78 and Highway 178, which punctured both passenger-side tires of the suspect vehicle. The driver, 47-year-old Timothy Jackson Chadwick of Summerville, was subsequently arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights.

Three Monroe County residents face drug charges following a traffic stop in Geneseo, according to reports from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. The incident began when sheriff’s deputies conducted an initial traffic stop, but the driver suddenly drove away. In response, deputies deployed stop sticks to flatten the vehicle’s tires. Following the pursuit, authorities charged passenger Masure Evans, 33, of Rochester, with multiple offenses. Specifically, these include third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

8. May 25th Stop Stick News: Lansing man, woman arrested after driving the wrong way on I-69 in Calhoun County – Michigan

Early Saturday morning on May 16, a deputy spotted a vehicle traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-69 near Tekonsha. When the deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver swerved around the patrol car and continued driving in the wrong direction. Due to the immediate danger of a head-on collision, authorities deployed spike strips near F Drive South. The vehicle struck the spike strips, causing three of its tires to deflate, and came to a stop shortly afterward. A man and a woman from Lansing were subsequently arrested.

9. May 25th Stop Stick News: Suspect’s 7-year-old son found in back seat after dangerous police chase in Nashville – Tennessee

A police chase began in Nashville on Thursday after detectives tried to pull over a suspect with an outstanding warrant. Consequently, the driver fled at high speeds, turning off his headlights and driving into oncoming traffic to elude capture. As the Chevrolet approached Foster Avenue, police deployed spike strips. Immediately after hitting them, the driver turned the car right onto Foster Avenue, and someone threw a black bag from the window. Thanks to the deflation device, the vehicle couldn’t get far; ultimately, it stopped a little over a block past the spike strips, near Lyle Lane. At that point, the driver and front passenger stepped out, and officers detained them without incident. Furthermore, inside the vehicle, police discovered the driver’s 7-year-old son in the back seat.

10. May 25th Stop Stick News: Man who led police on 100 mph chase now in custody – Michigan

A Coldwater man who led police on a multi-state pursuit last month reaching speeds over 100 mph on I-69 is now in the Branch County Jail. Authorities have charged 39-year-old Mason Holbrook with felony fleeing and eluding, along with registration violations. The incident began around 9:45 p.m. on April 27 when Branch County deputies attempted to stop Holbrook’s black Ford Thunderbird for a license plate violation on Fiske Road near Newton Road. However, Holbrook refused to pull over. Instead, he led deputies on a pursuit south on Fremont Road, west on Copeland Road, and eventually onto southbound I-69. As the chase crossed the state line, Indiana State Police troopers deployed “stop sticks” near the I-80/90 Toll Road on-ramp. Despite hitting the tire-deflation devices and riding on rims, Holbrook continued to the Toll Road exit at the 356 mile-marker before finally abandoning the vehicle.
