1. June 29th Stop Stick News: Man taken into custody after multi-county police chase – Indiana

On Sunday afternoon, Porter County police took a man into custody after a multi-county chase. The incident began when officers pulled over a blue Nissan near 450 E and US Highway 30 because its license plate indicated it was stolen. Instead of cooperating, the driver, 28-year-old Keon Starr, sped away from the scene and headed eastbound on US Highway 30 into Starke County. During the pursuit, police estimated that Starr reached speeds of up to 100 mph. To halt the reckless driver, Starke County deputies deployed stop sticks at the intersection of US 30 and State Road 23. This tactic succeeded, deflating the Nissan’s rear tires just before 3:30 PM and allowing officers to apprehend Starr.

Portland police arrested Valeria Rodriguez-Velazquez after she allegedly tried to flee from a traffic stop. The incident began when an officer pulled Rodriguez-Velazquez over for driving with improper license plates. However, as the officer approached her car, she suddenly sped away and ran two red lights in the process. To stop her flight, officials deployed stop sticks, successfully disabling her vehicle and taking her into custody. Consequently, she now faces several charges, including engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment.

3. June 29th Stop Stick News: Police detain 2 after deploying spike strip near Portland International Airport – Oregon

On Saturday, Portland authorities detained two people who allegedly fled from police near Portland International Airport. The incident began when Portland Police Bureau officers responded to Interstate 205, south of the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge, to stop a reckless driver who was trying to elude them. According to PPB spokesperson Kevin Allen, the suspect drove at a “very, very high speed,” ran signals, and passed other cars dangerously. In response, officials deployed spike strips to deflate the vehicle’s tires. Despite the damage, the driver continued down the highway onto Northeast Marine Drive before finally pulling into the airport’s economy parking lot, where police apprehended the occupants.

4. June 29th Stop Stick News: Authorities ID Victims of Alleged Pomoma Homicides – California

On Saturday, authorities identified 24-year-old Veronica Lopez and 48-year-old Richard Brady as the victims of a fatal apartment shooting. Paramedics pronounced the couple dead at the scene. Following the shooting, 48-year-old suspect Robert Galtman fled the area in a black Kia sedan. When California Highway Patrol officers spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, Galtman refused to yield, triggering a pursuit. For the next hour and a half, aerial footage captured the chase as it wound through the Newhall, Fort Tejon, and Antelope Valley areas before crossing into Kern. To end the danger, CHP Antelope Valley units successfully deployed a spike strip and used a pursuit intervention technique (PIT maneuver) to stop the car. Finally, officers safely took Galtman into custody around 7:10 p.m. on Thursday.

5. June 29th Stop Stick News: Driver in custody after leading police on chase through Elkhart County – Indiana

Early Saturday morning, Elkhart County police arrested a driver following a 30-minute pursuit in Goshen. The incident began shortly before 5 a.m. near Steppingstone and Willow Way when officers attempted to pull the driver over for speeding. Instead of pulling over, the driver fled, prompting a high-speed chase through the area. To end the pursuit, officers successfully deployed stop sticks near the Brookside Manor mobile home park and took the driver into custody. Fortunately, officials reported no injuries from the chase, though the suspect did request an ambulance after his arrest.

The incident began when a man dressed in dark clothing entered the station, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. Following the robbery, the police department posted a suspect description on social media, prompting a crucial tip from the community. Acting on this lead, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle near Arby’s by 2:45 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver fled, triggering a pursuit through the city. According to Winchester Police Chief Travis Thompson, officers quickly deployed spike strips near the cemetery on Lexington Avenue, successfully disabling the vehicle and ending the chase.

On Wednesday, Cannon County deputies and Woodbury police arrested Tyler Beasley, a suspect wanted on felony warrants, after a pursuit through Cannon County and Woodbury in a stolen vehicle. The incident began after Metro Nashville Police reported the vehicle stolen, which investigators noted Beasley had previously used to flee police in Smyrna and La Vergne. When a deputy spotted the vehicle on John Bragg Highway and attempted a traffic stop, Beasley fled into Woodbury, drawing additional deputies and city officers into the chase. During the pursuit, Beasley nearly struck a police vehicle and damaged multiple sheriff’s office vehicles. Finally, Woodbury police deployed spike strips, flattening three of the vehicle’s tires and forcing Beasley to a stop.

8. June 29th Stop Stick News: DUI Suspect Leads Two-Hour Pursuit Across San Diego – California

During the early morning hours of June 11, 2026, a suspected DUI driver led law enforcement on a lengthy pursuit across San Diego County. The incident began on the westbound 8 Freeway near Lake Jennings when California Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull the vehicle over. Instead of stopping, the driver fled, triggering a chase that lasted for more than two hours. As the pursuit wound through multiple areas of the county, officers repeatedly deployed spike strips in an effort to deflate the suspect’s tires and bring the dangerous chase to an end.

9. June 29th Stop Stick News: Woman wanted in domestic case arrested after chase in Grayson, Marshall counties – Oklahoma

On Tuesday, Sabrina Daugaard, 32, led authorities on a high-speed chase through Grayson and Marshall Counties, resulting in her arrest. The pursuit began that evening when Daugaard, who was wanted in connection to a domestic situation involving children, fled from Grayson County authorities and headed toward Marshall County on US-377. As the pursuit crossed county lines, Marshall County deputies joined the chase to assist. Shortly after, deputies successfully deployed spike strips on the Marshall County side of Willis Bridge, forcing her vehicle to a halt and taking her into custody. Following the arrest, authorities booked Daugaard into the Marshall County Detention Center. According to Marshall County Sheriff Donald Yow, Daugaard now faces multiple charges.

10. June 29th Stop Stick News: Speedway Trespass Call Sparked 100 MPH Chase That Ended at Sheriff’s Office – Ohio

A pursuit that ended in one of the last places most fugitives would to stop: the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office parking lot. The incident began at the Speedway in Lucasville. Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched after employees reported a man was refusing to leave. They identified the man as Chester Harrison and banned him from the business. A deputy followed Harrison as he left the area. That’s when, according to reports, Harrison suddenly sped away. Deputies say the vehicle quickly reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Spike strips deployed Law enforcement agencies coordinated efforts to stop the fleeing vehicle. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers deployed spike strips. In one of the more unusual endings to a police pursuit, Harrison eventually pulled into the parking lot of the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
