A 19-year-old Santa Fe woman is facing a felony charge of child abuse and misdemeanor charges of aggravated battery on a household member and aggravated drunk driving after she allegedly crashed her boyfriend’s car into a ditch after biting his neck.

Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Deputy Hansel Felix arrested Brianna Willebrand on May 8, after being called to a crash off of U.S. Highway 84/285.

In a criminal complaint for her arrest, Felix wrote that he spotted the vehicle she was reported to be driving, a gold SUV, crashed on the side of the road and he and another deputy got out and approached it. She appeared passed out behind the steering wheel, with the vehicle on, he wrote.

“When Willebrand saw me approaching, she raised the volume of the radio,” he wrote.

Felix instructed the other deputy to get the spike strips and put them behind her car’s rear tires in case she drove off. He then approached the driver’s side and had her get out, he wrote.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen SUV on Saturday afternoon ended with the arrest of three suspects, including two 17-year-old males and 18-year-old Donald King. The incident also led to the recovery of a stolen handgun and wallet linked to separate theft cases.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Violent Crimes detectives first spotted a stolen gray Acura MDX speeding out of a 7-Eleven parking lot on White Bridge Road. Officers began tailing the SUV while waiting for backup. The vehicle raced north on Briley Parkway before exiting onto Ashland City Highway, where the suspects, aware of the police presence, began driving recklessly at high speeds.

A police helicopter tracked the SUV from above as it briefly stopped at an apartment complex on Clarksville Pike, then sped off again. Officers deployed spike strips, successfully disabling the vehicle near E Fairview Drive, where all three suspects fled on foot.

ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office arrested four men from D.C. in connection to a retail burglary in Lexington Park on Sunday.

Around 4:20 a.m., deputies were called to a business located at the 21000 block of Great Mills Road for a commercial burglary alarm. The business provided deputies with video surveillance, giving them more insight into the suspects and their getaway car, a Honda.

Shortly after, deputies spotted a car matching the description traveling in the Mechanicsville area. The car fled when deputies attempted to stop it, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies then deployed a stop stick, the car stopped and multiple people ran away on foot. The sheriff’s office deployed its drone unit to search from the air, while a Charles County K9 team and other units worked the ground. Several of the suspects were eventually apprehended.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Documents are revealing the details that led up to a police chase in Horry County earlier this week.

Horry County Police Department was called to 48 Avenue North in the Myrtle Beach area for a disturbance on Wednesday.

A police report and arrest warrants obtained by WMBF News state that patient Melissa Hakoun, 36, reportedly assaulted a victim in the lobby area of a doctor’s office.

Hakoun is charged with failure to stop for blue lights, driving under suspension, grand larceny and assault and battery third-degree.

According to the warrants, Hakoun grabbed the victim’s arm and pinned them back, where she then stole the keys out of his pocket, and left the scene in his car.

Documents say a witness captured video of Hakoun driving away in the victim’s car.

The Horry County Police Department told the Loris Police Department about the situation as Hakoun’s lives in Loris.

Police said that Loris police saw Hakoun in the car, which led to a police chase outside the city and into the county.

The chase reportedly ended on Socastee Boulevard after officers deployed stop sticks.

5. Stop Stick News: Policing runs in the family during cross-border crackdown – Australia

A major cross-border police operation led to 16 arrests over the weekend – and at the heart of the action was a unique family connection, with four relatives from Victoria and NSW Police working side-by-side to help keep the community safe.

Operation Hawker ran from Friday 30 May to Sunday 1 June, targeting cross-border criminal activity and reducing road trauma in the Mildura region. Local police were supported by Victoria Police’s Air Wing, Dog Squad and specialist units from both states.

Among those leading the charge was Acting Inspector Matt Pascoe from Victoria Police, who worked alongside his brother, son and daughter – each playing a vital role in the high-visibility enforcement effort spanning both sides of the border.

Victoria Police’s Air Wing played a critical role in tracking fleeing offenders from the sky, often guiding police units on the ground to locate alleged offenders.

On Saturday 31 May, police tracked an unregistered Ford Falcon that was allegedly driving dangerously in the Merbein and Cardross areas. The driver allegedly drove through a fence while evading police. His vehicle was brought to a stop by police in Cardross after they used stop-sticks. The driver allegedly tried to flee on foot however was swiftly arrested by members from both Victoria Police and NSW Police. A 39-year-old Merbein man was arrested and charged with for alleged offences including dangerous driving, stolen number plates, drug possession, and breaching a court order. He was remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates Court on 1 July. His passenger, a 53-year-old Mildura woman was also arrested and released pending further enquiries.
