2. July 20th Stop Stick News – Warrants issued for suspect who evaded capture following pursuit, crash in Mt. Juliet – Tennessee

The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) has warrants out for a suspect who reportedly fled on foot after a pursuit on Wednesday night. MJPD reported that the suspect’s identity was uncovered and warrants have been issued following Wednesday’s pursuit through town and subsequent search. MJPD alerted residents at about 7:45 p.m. about an active pursuit within the city limits and to be cautious when traveling. A short time later, MJPD said officers were able to successfully deploy spike strips, and the suspect crashed on Golden Bear Gateway. The suspect then ran from the scene, launching a search in the area.

3. July 20th Stop Stick News – Suburban man jailed after driving car toward cop during Grant Park ‘sideshow’ – Illinois

A 20-year-old Burbank man is accused of nearly running over a Chicago police officer while fleeing an illegal sideshow. Footage recorded by passengers in the car is now being used as evidence. Alexander Zavala is charged with felony aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and misdemeanor mob action. The incident unfolded at 3:02 a.m. Sunday as cops responded to a large gathering of cars that had taken over an intersection. Someone had opened a fire hydrant while drivers performed donuts and reckless maneuvers. Zavala was allegedly driving a black Chrysler 300 owned by his front-seat passenger with two people in the back. All four were wearing masks. The officers arrived in a marked police vehicle and began deploying spike strips as drivers tried to flee. The owner, got into the passenger seat and told Zavala, that police were “spiking people” before telling him to drive.
