The driver, identified as Nestor Morantes Segura, 33, of Bogota, Colombia, was arrested. Stop Sticks End Pursuit of Corvette

9. July 13th Stop Stick News – Corvette Driver Crashes Fleeing Cops, Tells Them He’ll ‘Simply Buy Another One’– Arkansas

Source: Carscoops | By: Stephen Rivers

A routine traffic stop over an expired registration turned into a triple-digit interstate pursuit that crossed state lines, ended with stop sticks, and culminated in a foot chase. According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), the driver of a Chevrolet Corvette reached speeds as high as 156 mph. Somehow, none of that seems all that surprising for the area. What was surprising was what authorities say he told them after the chase was over. An ASP incident report obtained by NEA Report puts the start of the pursuit on the morning of June 15, along northbound Interstate 55 in Mississippi County, Arkansas. Trooper Arellano reportedly spotted a red Corvette with its license plate cover. Those aren’t illegal in Arkansas so long as they don’t obscure the plate or reduce its reflectivity. A registration check allegedly revealed the tag had expired several months earlier.

His friend drove him to the meeting spot where he got into a white Kia occupied by four people he knew from the area. “He jumped in the backseat and immediately had a gun pointed at his face,” Romero said. They began going through the teen’s pockets, taking about $150 and a watch before forcing him out of the vehicle. Investigators later found the watch was a fake Rolex.
