CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Camden County man is facing multiple charges after leading deputies on a high-speed chase in Currituck County.
Deputies say they attempted to pull over a car on Highway 158 near Powells Point for a traffic violation earlier today.
A high-speed chase began after the driver, Koen Bryant, failed to stop, with speeds exceeding 100 mph.
According to deputies, the chase ended after stop sticks were deployed after the car crossed over the Wright Memorial Bridge.
The 20-year-old was charged with the following:
- Felony speeding to elude arrest
- Misdemeanor speeding in excess of 80mph
- Failure to heed lights and sirens
- Reckless driving
- Failure to maintain lane control
- Center turn lane violation.
Bryant was taken to the Currituck County jail and is under a $7,500 secured bond.
