1. Stop Stick® Roundup: Man in custody after U-Haul police chase; video shows woman running from the truck beforehand – Pennsylvania

On a Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania, a pursuit involving a U-Haul truck sped into Cranberry Township. The incident began around 2:40 p.m. when the vehicle fled along Franklin Road. Earlier that day, witnesses spotted the same truck at a tobacco store in Butler. In that bizarre encounter, a woman and man entered the store while employees gestured for them to leave.
As the chase entered Cranberry, local officers quickly moved into a tactical position. To terminate the pursuit, an officer deployed Stop Stick® devices near Peters Road. The intervention worked perfectly, successfully disabling the fleeing U-Haul. Consequently, the vehicle came to a stop near Myoma Road.
Immediately following the stop, officers detained the unidentified driver. Fortunately, no Cranberry officers reported any injuries during the high-stakes operation. With the suspect in custody, authorities can now investigate the full timeline of the day’s events.
On a Saturday afternoon in McPherson, local police and sheriff’s deputies collaborated to recover a stolen vehicle. The incident began at 4:04 p.m. when authorities spotted the car traveling south on I-135. Shortly thereafter, the stolen vehicle entered the city at Kansas Avenue.
In an attempt to stop the driver, officers initiated a traffic stop on South Champlin Road. However, the suspect refused to pull over and sped south on Centennial. As the pursuit left the city, a sheriff’s deputy moved into a tactical position ahead of the car.
To end the chase, the deputy successfully deployed Stop Stick® devices across the roadway. The spikes punctured the tires, effectively slowing the vehicle down. Because of this intervention, officers were able to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion. Following the stop, authorities took the driver and passenger into custody for multiple offenses.

3. Stop Stick® Roundup: 110 mph chase ends with stop sticks as deputies arrest man in stolen Jeep Compass – South Carolina

Late Thursday night, Dorchester County deputies arrested a 24-year-old man after a dangerous multi-county pursuit. The incident began around 10:38 p.m. when patrolling deputies spotted a stolen red Jeep Compass. To initiate the stop, authorities activated their blue lights and sirens once backup arrived.
However, the driver—identified as Romelle Allen Mazyck—accelerated and fled into Charleston County. During the escape, Mazyck merged onto Interstate 26 and reached speeds of 110 mph. As the pursuit continued, he exited the highway and began weaving recklessly through heavy traffic.
To protect the community, Berkeley County deputies quickly coordinated a plan to intercept the vehicle. In a tactical move, they deployed Stop Stick® devices along North Main Street. The deployment was successful, striking both the front and rear driver-side tires. Consequently, the stolen vehicle slowed to a halt, and deputies took Mazyck into custody without further incident.

4. Stop Stick® Roundup: Man arrested for reckless driving after Hwy. 80 standoff – California

On a Friday morning near Truckee, California Highway Patrol officers arrested a man following a reckless pursuit and standoff. The chaos began around 7:52 a.m. when witnesses reported a driver throwing items out of his moving car. In response, officers initiated a pursuit as the suspect sped westbound on Highway 80.
To protect other motorists, authorities deployed a spike strip about 30 miles west near Nyack. The tactical hit successfully disabled the vehicle and forced the driver to stop. However, the suspect refused to exit the car, triggering a tense hour-long standoff. Because of the danger, officials temporarily closed all westbound traffic on the highway.
To resolve the situation, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office arrived with a K-9 unit and a drone. With the help of this technology, officers eventually removed the man from the vehicle. Following the arrest, emergency crews transported the suspect to a local hospital for evaluation. Shortly thereafter, crews reopened the highway to normal traffic.

5. Stop Stick® Roundup: Woman arrested after high-speed chase in stolen SUV – Texas

On a Wednesday night in Portland, Texas, a 38-year-old woman sparked a high-speed chase in a stolen SUV. The incident began when the Texas Department of Public Safety attempted a routine traffic stop. Immediately following the signal, the driver fled and led officers across San Patricio County.
As the pursuit intensified, the SUV traveled from Portland toward Gregory on US Highway 181. Shortly thereafter, authorities confirmed that the suspect had stolen the vehicle from Corpus Christi. While passing through Taft, the driver managed to elude local police units. In response, four San Patricio County deputies coordinated a strategic plan to stop the threat.
To conclude the chase, deputies deployed two sets of deflation spikes near the Sinton exit. This tactical maneuver worked perfectly, successfully puncturing three of the vehicle’s tires. As a direct result, the SUV came to a full stop. With the vehicle disabled, deputies arrested the woman without further incident.

Let’s be candid. Of all the places a person could imagine a police chase ending, the jail is likely the last. As unbelievable as it sounds, that is exactly what happened on February 12 in South Bend. The incident began when Washington State Patrol Trooper Thomas Beck attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding.
Initially, the driver—29-year-old Tia C. Storey—pulled her vehicle over. However, she refused to roll down her window and tried to slip her documents through a crack. Suddenly, she accelerated away from the trooper. In response, the Pacific County 911 Communications Center alerted units that a pursuit was heading northbound on US Highway 101.
To intercept the fleeing driver, South Bend Police Sergeant Luis Gonzalez positioned himself south of town. He successfully deployed spikes, puncturing the vehicle’s tires as it sped toward South Bend. Meanwhile, Raymond Police Officer Jayden Madrid prepared a second set of spikes around a blind corner. Despite the damage, Storey continued driving until she reached the Pacific County Jail. At that point, the pursuit ended, and authorities took her into custody right at the facility’s doorstep.

On a Tuesday morning in San Diego, authorities arrested a 34-year-old woman following a high-stakes pursuit that shuttered portions of Interstate 15. The incident began around 7:30 a.m. when police received a report of a possible trailer theft on Balboa Avenue. Upon locating the vehicle, officers contacted the driver—identified as Panayiota Xirogiannis—and strategically placed a Stop Stick® behind one of the rear tires. Despite the obstruction, Xirogiannis accelerated away, triggering a pursuit as she merged onto northbound I-15 with a dog inside her SUV.
As the chase intensified, the vehicle eventually lost its rear tire, causing the SUV to become disabled in the middle lanes of the freeway. Following the breakdown, a tense, hour-long standoff ensued while officers attempted to de-escalate the situation. However, Xirogiannis refused to communicate and eventually used her vehicle to push a patrol car out of the way. In a desperate attempt to escape, she drove through brush, nearly struck an 82-year-old pedestrian, and even traveled the wrong way against oncoming traffic.
Ultimately, the SUV stalled for a final time near Mira Mesa Boulevard. At this point, Xirogiannis abandoned the vehicle with her dog and reportedly tried to carjack several nearby drivers. To prevent further danger, officers utilized a Taser to subdue her and took her into custody. Following the arrest, authorities booked Xirogiannis on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and carjacking.

8. Stop Stick® Roundup: Wauwatosa police arrest attempted homicide suspect out of Kenosha after chase – Wisconsin

On Thursday afternoon, Wauwatosa police spotted a vehicle linked to an attempted homicide out of Kenosha. The incident began just after 3 p.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop on the wanted car. However, the driver refused to pull over and initiated a high-speed pursuit through the city.
In a strategic effort to end the chase, officers deployed a spike strip to disable the vehicle. The maneuver worked perfectly, blowing out the tires and forcing the car to a halt near McGovern Park. Immediately following the stop, both the driver and a passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Despite their attempt to escape, officers quickly caught and arrested both individuals at 49th and Eggert. Fortunately, authorities reported no injuries during the dangerous encounter. With the suspects in custody, investigators can now proceed with the attempted homicide case.

9. Stop Stick® Roundup: Livestreamed Thurston County police chase ends with arrest – Washington

On a Wednesday night in Olympia, a 25-year-old woman sparked a high-speed chase while livestreaming on social media. The chaos began around 9:15 p.m. right outside the Thurston County Sheriff’s Field Operations building. While chatting in the parking lot, deputies heard a blood-curdling scream coming from a nearby car.
Reacting instantly, deputies sprinted to their patrol cars as the driver blew through a stop sign. Moments later, the suspect nearly T-boned a vehicle that had the right of way. She then swerved into oncoming traffic, almost hitting another car head-on.
As the pursuit moved onto I-5, the suspect reached speeds of 112 mph. According to court documents, the SUV weaved across lanes and passed vehicles on both sides. To end the dangerous broadcast, authorities deployed a spike strip near Grand Mound. This successful hit finally brought the vehicle to a halt. With the SUV disabled, the driver surrendered to deputies without further incident.

10. Stop Stick® Roundup: Teen Arrested After Firing Gun, Leading Police On Chase In SMC: Police – California

On a Friday night in Half Moon Bay, San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies quickly arrested a 17-year-old suspect following a dangerous armed confrontation. The incident began around 10:45 p.m. when authorities received reports of a person brandishing and discharging a firearm on Iris Lane. According to witnesses, the suspect threatened bystanders before speeding away from the scene in a vehicle.
Equipped with a vehicle description, deputies soon spotted the suspect driving on Highway 92. However, the teen refused to pull over and accelerated to high speeds. In an effort to protect the public, deputies strategically deployed tire spike strips along the route. As a direct result of the hit, the vehicle ground to a halt near Pilarcitos and Oak Avenues. With the car disabled, deputies safely took the 17-year-old into custody without further violence.
