Just before 9 p.m., Mineral County deputies were contacted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office about a suspected stolen 2017 Chevrolet Silverado from Yerington. The suspect, identified as Monica Robinson, was recently released from Lyon County jail on drug-related charges.

Robinson allegedly stole the car after the owner, a local resident, paid for a hotel room for her in Yerington. They say when the owner exited the hotel, Robinson locked the doors and drove away.

Deputies say a Walker River Tribal Police Officer saw the truck going south on U.S. 95 near Mile Marker 82. The officer tried to stop the car, but they say Robinson sped away leading to a pursuit that continued southbound.

During the alleged chase, she drove into oncoming traffic, swerving and eventually hitting an object, damaging the side front of the truck. That’s when authorities deployed spike strips near MM 58, hitting the front passenger tire.

A second set of spike strips was then deployed at MM 56 and about 300 yards later, all four tires were deflated, causing the truck to spin and eventually stop.

Monica Robinson was then taken into custody.

Deputies say the stolen Chevrolet Silverado sustained major damage during the incident.

Robinson now faces charges of:

1. Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)

2. No Valid D/L (Misdemeanor)

3. Fail to Drive on Right Half (Misdemeanor)

4. Driver Disobey Peace Officer (Misdemeanor)

5. Resist A Public Officer (Misdemeanor)

6. Eluding (Felony

RICHMOND (WJON News) — A Paynesville man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to the Stearns County criminal complaint, the incident began at about 12:15 a.m. on Monday. An officer from the Cold Spring/Richmond police department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an obstructed front license plate.

The stop was near the intersection of Main Street and Jay Avenue in Richmond.

The driver rolled down his window about two inches. After explaining the reason for the stop, the driver became upset and refused to identify himself. Back-up officers arrived and placed Stop Sticks in front of the vehicle. The driver then allegedly began shining a flashlight into the officer’s eyes. Officers broke the front driver’s side window to get access to the driver and tried to arrest him. He then began swinging the flashlight at the officers. He was ultimately pulled from the vehicle.

Frederick, Md. (DG) – A wanted man is behind bars after a multi-county pursuit that began just after midnight Thursday in Frederick County. Deputies say that the chase started around 12:15 a.m., when they attempted to pull over a Hyundai on Crestwood Boulevard, but the driver sped off, heading north on Route 85.

Officials later confirmed that the vehicle belonged to 27-year-old Suba Washington Jr. of Williamsport, who Washington County wanted on charges that included kidnapping, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

During the pursuit, Washington’s vehicle hit another car near Buckeystown Pike, though no one suffered injuries. The chase continued onto I-270 and then west on I-70, where deputies deployed Stop Sticks near the Middletown exit, flattening the car’s tires.

The pursuit finally came to an end near the Route 40 exit, with support from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police. Authorities took Washington Jr. into custody, and they safely turned over a 17-year-old passenger to police. He now faces a long list of traffic charges, including reckless and negligent driving and attempting to elude law enforcement.

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (KATU) — A wanted man led police on a chase on the Oregon coast Thursday afternoon. He sped up Highway 101 in a pickup truck that missed a wheel before construction workers caught him in Lincoln City.

Authorities arrested Tyler Mullen, 32, and booked him into the Lincoln County Jail on several charges. These included felony attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, and hit-and-run. He also carried open warrants for a probation violation.

Authorities say that Mullen clipped another vehicle during the chase; however, no one suffered injuries in the pursuit.

The incident started when Newport Police found a vehicle in the Fred Meyer parking lot. The vehicle linked to a Waldport area burglary reported earlier that day.

An officer told the driver, later identified as Mullen, to stay put, but he ignored the order. Instead, he drove over a curb, heading north on Highway 101.

The officer gave chase, and Mullen continued to speed northbound on the highway. He reportedly clipped another car in the turn lane at the NW 25th Street intersection.

Other law enforcement agencies set up tire spike strips, flattening several of Mullen’s tires.

Mullen eventually lost traction near the Southeast 51st Street intersection, got out of the pickup, and ran.

“Construction workers at the scene ultimately restrained him,” Newport Police said.

Officers put Mullen under arrest, but he refused to identify himself. They took him to jail, where they identified him using his fingerprints and photographs. This also revealed open warrants for his arrest.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) said that they arrested a driver dragging barbed wire behind their car after he led deputies on a pursuit on November 6.

DCSO said that a deputy was on patrol duty when he witnessed a vehicle driving while dragging 15 feet of barbed wire, which was sparking along the road. Deputies added that the vehicle also lacked a license plate.

As the deputy followed the vehicle, they said that it abruptly came to a stop with its hazards on. Then, as the deputy activated his lights, the vehicle drove away, still dragging the wire.

Later, according to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle stopped for a second time and appeared to comply with the deputy before it took off at high speed.

Authorities initiated a pursuit. DCSO said that the deputy deployed Stop Sticks, deflating the vehicle’s tires.

Woman faces charges for Hilton Head ambulance joyride, no arrest yet for theft Controlled Endings:

8. Controlled Endings: Woman faces charges for Hilton Head ambulance joyride, no arrest yet for theft – Florida

The Island Packet by Evan McKenna

https://amp.islandpacket.com/news/local/crime/article313554975.html

A 30-year-old Hilton Head resident who allegedly stole a private ambulance outside Hilton Head Island’s hospital now faces charges related to the joyride. The South Carolina Highway Patrol charged her last week with misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, driving under suspension, and failure to give information and render aid after an accident. However, she has not yet faced the felony charge of grand larceny for the ambulance theft.

According to Lt. Daniel Allen, she remains a patient at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center and, consequently, has not been transported to the Beaufort County jail. The MedTrust ambulance was stolen around 5:30 p.m. on December 2 while parked outside the emergency room. A MedTrust employee had left the vehicle unlocked with the keys in the ignition while taking a patient inside. The company wishes to pursue charges for the theft of the ambulance, which is valued at about $70,000. The suspect had been brought to the hospital by her family for an evaluation.

Following her discharge, a witness overheard the woman asking how to get home. Shortly after, she was seen driving off in the ambulance. A Beaufort County sergeant initially attempted a traffic stop on U.S. 278 but ceased due to traffic and the vehicle’s “erratic driving.” The ambulance struck a vehicle on Gumtree Road before turning onto Squire Pope Road. A deputy then used spike strips to successfully stop the stolen vehicle about 10 minutes and 5 miles later. Finally, police returned the woman to the hospital for an evaluation.
