Wrong-way DUI driver near Connell busted following chase that reached speeds of 100mph Washington

CONNELL – Deputies say a DUI driver driver who attempted to evade capture near Connell is behind bars today. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a driver heading the wrong way on Highway 395 near Connell late Thursday. The driver, identified as Marcus Angel Rodriguez, was initially spotted traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near milepost 54.

Upon locating the vehicle, a deputy attempted to make a stop, but Rodriguez accelerated, prompting a high-speed pursuit. Officers suspected the involvement of DUI, leading to an authorized chase. The pursuit saw the deployment of spike strips near Mesa, which Rodriguez evaded, continuing his perilous southbound escape in the opposite lanes.

Manhattan man arrested near Kansas City on kidnapping, assault charges – Kansas

A Manhattan man is behind bars after leading authorities on a pursuit on the Kansas Turnpike, in a kidnapping investigation.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Riley County Police Department requested assistance Friday morning locating 26-year-old Jonathan Maldonado, who was reported as being armed and traveling eastbound on Interstate 70. The victim in the case had already escaped and was safe when the call came in.

JASPER, Ind. (WISH) — A Corydon woman was arrested late Wednesday night after police say she drove the wrong way on I-64 in Dubois County, resisted arrest, and assaulted an officer.

The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 64. Multiple officers responded and located the vehicle near the 71-mile marker driving the wrong way on the interstate.

A state trooper deployed stop sticks near the 68.5-mile marker, where the vehicle stopped.

Driver of stolen Frito-Lay truck stopped by law enforcement in Milam County – Texas

MILAM COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – Law enforcement authorities worked together Wednesday to stop the driver of a stolen Frito-Lay truck in Milam County.

Milam County Public Information Officer Brett Eberhart tells KBTX that the truck was reported stolen out to Williamson County in the city of Taylor.

At some point, Eberhart says the truck was found in Lee County where law enforcement agencies including Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lexington Police attempted to stop the truck.

The pursuit then went from Lee County into Milam County at about 2:15 p.m., where Rockdale Police and Milam County deputies were successful in deploying spike strips to puncture a tire.

One arrested in Rockdale after pursuit with stolen box truck through Lee County – Texas

MILAM COUNTY, Texas — An individual was arrested for a chase involving a stolen box truck Wednesday afternoon, according to the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 2:15 p.m. that day, a box truck was stolen, with Lexington Police giving chase towards Milam County. Those officers were later joined by Lee County deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. The Milam County Sheriff’s Office was informed of the ongoing pursuit by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to assist in stopping the driver after the chase began.

As the pursuit entered Milam County, the sheriff’s office deputies and Rockdale Police took measures to stop the vehicle, throwing spike strips to bring the stolen truck to a stop. A front tire was taken out by the strips, with the driver was unable to continue fleeing authorities in the stolen vehicle a short time after.

Carjacking suspects arrested – North Carolina

AHOSKIE – Two local men were arrested near here Saturday night for their alleged roles in a carjacking in Martin County.

Devonte Jamal Cofield of Ahoskie and Lamajae Ki’tory Norfleet of Windsor were taken into custody in an area near the Ahoskie Inn. Both men are 19 years of age.

Cofield was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree kidnapping, assault by pointing a gun, possession of a stolen vehicle, felony flee to elude arrest, and possession of marijuana.

CAMERON, Texas (FOX 44) – A pursuit starting in Lee County ends in Milam County with one person in custody.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday about a pursuit of a stolen box truck heading toward Milam County. The chase was started by the Lexington Police Department, and was joined by Lee County deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.

As the chase entered Milam County, deputies and Rockdale Police deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. The strips took out a front tire on the box truck, bringing the chase to an end on US-77 at the US-79 overpass on the east end of Rockdale.

Man in custody after fleeing state troopers during I-75 traffic stop – Ohio

A man is in custody after fleeing Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers during a traffic stop on Interstate 75.

A state trooper from the Piqua Post of the OSHP checked the speed of a Honda CRV at 85 m.p.h. on Southbound Interstate 75 near County Road 25A in Miami County, an OHSP spokesperson told News Center 7.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop and the SUV slowed but did not stop and pursuit ensued.

Officers successfully deployed stop sticks and the SUV came to a stop on SB I-75 near State Route 571 where the driver was taken into custody, the spokesperson said.
