1. Chasing Chaos: Woman facing numerous charges after almost hitting officers with car, leading KY police on pursuit – Kentucky

A woman in Kentucky is facing numerous charges after she almost hit officers while fleeing police and leading them on a pursuit April 15.
According to the Central City Police, a bystander called for a welfare check around 9:30 p.m. on a female driver of a car blocking the roadway at S. 2nd.
They say when an officer arrived to check on the driver, she sped off and almost hit the officer and a bystander.
Police say the driver, identified as Elonte Allen, later stopped in the median of S. 2nd before taking off again through a nearby fast food parking lot.
Authorities say she almost hit another patrol vehicle before continuing out to the Western Kentucky Parkway eastbound at the 58 mile marker.
Stop sticks were thrown out by the Kentucky State Police, and the car stopped at the 65 mile marker.
Allen refused to get out of the vehicle but eventually complied with officers.
She is facing a total of 18 charges.

State police say a Thruway chase topped speeds of 115 miles per hour.
Troopers tried to stop Shariff A. Frasier, 32, Wednesday evening for traffic violations in Plattekill. Instead, they say Frasier sped off and led police on a 22mile chase.
Spike strips were used to stop the car.

3. Chasing Chaos: Officer commended for action in stolen vehicle pursuit in East Bridgewater – Massachusetts

Police Chief Michael Jenkins commended Officer Collin Briggs for his performance during a motor vehicle pursuit in the early morning hours of April 14, 2026.
At approximately 2:33 a.m., the East Bridgewater Police Department assisted the Bridgewater Police Department with an active pursuit involving a vehicle recently reported stolen from Bridgewater State University.
As the pursuit entered East Bridgewater traveling northbound on Route 18, Officer Briggs positioned himself on Scribner Way.
Officer Briggs deployed stop sticks, disabling the suspect vehicle by deflating both front tires and bringing the pursuit to a conclusion.
He then removed the stop sticks from the roadway, preventing potential damage to responding police vehicles.

A Westside man is behind bars in Kittitas County after police say he led them on a dangerous vehicle pursuit in the wrong lanes of Interstate-90.
The Ellensburg Police Department says it began in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 11, when officers received reports of a stolen vehicle from the area of West University Way.
A deputy with the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office spotted the stolen vehicle traveling westbound on I-90 near Exit 101.
When the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver reportedly made a U-turn and fled in the wrong direction of the freeway’s westbound lanes.
The deputy pursued the vehicle using the proper lanes of the freeway until spike strips were deployed, which disabled the suspect’s vehicle and ended the chase.

5. Chasing Chaos: Man led troopers on 100 mph I-83 chase with 3-year-old in vehicle: PSP – Pennsylvania

A Baltimore man led state troopers on an I-83 chase across York County that reached over 100 mph with a 3-year-old child inside the vehicle, police allege.
Darius Demont Johnson, 35, faces felony fleeing and child endangerment charges following the pursuit that started just after midnight Friday, April 10, on the business loop just south of Tri Hill Road in York Township.
According to court documents, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2018 Hyundai Tucson.
The driver of the Tucson, later identified as Johnson, allegedly took off at a high rate of speed as the trooper tried to pull him over. Police say the chase reached speeds up to 105 mph on Interstate 83 before state police deployed spike strips near the Shrewsbury exit.

A Yakima man is facing potential felony charges after he allegedly stole a Lexus GS that had been left running outside Happy’s Market in Ellensburg early Saturday morning and tried to escape police by driving the wrong way on Interstate 90.
Tom Walter Schulz, 45, made his initial appearance in Kittitas County Superior Court on Monday following his arrest for eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of motor vehicle theft tools.
Prosecuting Attorney Greg Zempel told Judge Chris Herion that Schulz had an extensive criminal history.
Ellensburg police were dispatched to Happy’s Market on University Way just before 3 a.m. Saturday after a man reported the theft of his Lexus. He also said he had left the engine running.
A sheriff deputy spotted the Lexus near I-90, but when the officer turned on his emergency lights to pull the car over, the driver of the Lexus started going east in the westbound lanes of the freeway.
An Ellensburg officer put stops sticks on the highway about five miles away from where the Lexus had first been seen, and the stolen car hit the sticks and came to a stop in the westbound lanes of I-90. The driver got out of the vehicle and ran off, according to a probable cause affidavit.
A drone operator was called in to help search for the driver, and a man matching the Lexus driver — soon identified as Schulz — was found lying in the brush near the off-ramp at Exit 106.

7. Chasing Chaos: Spike Strips Help Land Arrests by La Vergne Police Officers who Took Down Dangerous Robbery Crew – Tennessee

A high-stakes armed robbery ended with multiple suspects in handcuffs following a swift response and vehicle pursuit by the La Vergne Police Department. The incident began when officers received reports of a brazen armed robbery. The victim informed authorities that several suspects, brandishing AR-style firearms, stole wallets and credit cards before speeding away in a red, two-door Infiniti.
La Vergne officers quickly spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. When the driver refused to pull over, a pursuit was initiated. During the chase, a suspect was seen throwing a firearm from the window in an attempt to discard evidence. The pursuit came to an end after officers successfully deployed spike strips, disabling the Infiniti and allowing for the safe detention of all occupants.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.— A person is in custody after police used spike strips and a PepperBall to end a vehicle pursuit on Monday, the Oak Ridge Police Department said.
The chase ended on Oak Ridge Turnpike near Newport Drive around 11:40 a.m. There were no serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

9. Chasing Chaos: Suspected dump truck thief from Rome crashed into Onondaga Lake during pursuit – New York

A stolen dump truck from Oneida County has been recovered by authorities after the suspected thief led police on a chase before crashing it into Onondaga Lake.
According to New York State Police officials, Dennis J. Williamson, 43, of Rome, NY has been arrested and formally charged with one felony count each of criminal mischief in the second-degree; DWAI (w/a previous conviction within the decade) and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first-degree.
Troopers also charged Williamson with one misdemeanor count each of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second-degree.
It was Thursday afternoon when police in Manlius, NY began chasing a 2012 Ford F-550 Dump Truck when Williamson, the alleged driver, failed to comply for a traffic stop after patrols witnessed vehicle and traffic law violations.
After a successful deployment of stop sticks, the chase came to a brief halt in the town of Clay.

The 35-minute police pursuit started a little earlier when Wisar drove past a trooper, who had stopped another driver on the highway near the Columbia Park Trail exit just before 6:10 p.m., Trooper Carlos Mata told the Tri-City Herald. Mata said the trooper suspected Wisar was driving impaired and began following him, signaling for him to pull over.
Instead, Wisar sped away in the silver sedan, turning onto Interstate 182 and then the Highway 240 bypass. He reached speeds of 90 mph, Mata said. The trooper had backed off from the pursuit and stopped chasing him when Wisar started driving into oncoming lanes, said Mata. Then, Wisar turned around near the Yakima barricade and was headed back into Richland when officers laid out a spike strip to deflate two of his tires. Wisar was driving in the oncoming lanes on Highway 240 when the sedan drifted toward the curb with its driver-side door open and stopped near the Richland Airport.
