TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Topeka man is behind bars after he allegedly led officers on an overnight car chase in a stolen SUV.
The Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office says on Monday, Jan. 2, that Jacobe C. J. Quiring-Grier, 21, of Topeka, is in custody and faces multiple charges after a police chase late Sunday night. Officials were led from North Topeka to southeast Shawnee Co.
Just before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, officials said they were notified that a blue or green 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe had been stolen from a business in the 4200 block of Seward Ave. As deputies received the information, they saw a vehicle that matched the description near NW Lyman and NW Tyler St.

Local law enforcement assist state police in freeway car chase ending on Adams Avenue – Wisconsin
An Illinois man was arrested Saturday after police used spike strips to end a chase that reached speeds of more than 100 mph on a stretch of Highway 12 between Elkhorn and Pell Lake, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
During routine patrolling on Interstate 43, sheriff’s deputies noticed a vehicle traveling slower than the posted speed limit and swerving within its lane and impeding traffic about where 43 crosses Highway 11 northeast of Elkhorn.
When the deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver, identified as Ronald P. Aumann, 55, of Machesney Park, Illinois, did not pull over, continuing southwest on the Interstate at about 55 mph, according to the release. Aumann exited the Interstate at Highway 12 in Elkhorn and once westbound on the highway, he sped up to about 108 mph, driving recklessly and not maintaining a lane of travel, authorities said.

GSP: Savannah man, Washington Co. teen arrested after trying to out run law enforcement – Georgia
–BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA)- The Georgia State Patrol said two people attempting to outrun law enforcement have been arrested following a crash in Baldwin County.
Troopers say the Washington County Sheriff’s Office requested GSP’s assistance in pursuing a vehicle that sped away from deputies on Deepstep Rd. near State Route 24 around 5:44 pm Sunday.
GSP said Washington County deputies informed them they lost sight of the vehicle as it sped toward Baldwin County.

WESTPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man was charged with stealing a vehicle from Trumbull after a short chase in Westport, according to police.
A Westport officer attempted to stop a vehicle that went through a red light on Post Road East, Dec. 15 around 3:30 a.m.
The vehicle turned around in a parking lot and then began driving west on Post Road East, it ran another red light at Church Street, police said.

KINSTON — A woman is facing multiple charges from the State Highway Patrol and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office after leading troopers and deputies in a Friday afternoon car chase, colliding into an LCSO patrol car and having drugs and stolen clothing in her vehicle.
On Friday around 4 p.m., the LCSO assisted the Highway Patrol in a chase of a vehicle being driven by Elizabeth Marie Tucker that began on U.S. 258 North in Lenoir County and continued to C.F. Harvey Parkway (N.C. 148). LCSO deputies employed stop sticks, which caused Tucker’s front tires to lose air.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore– An Attempted Murder suspect is now in jail after trying to escape the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office in a motorhome.
Around 10 a.m, on December 31, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) attempted to serve a warrant on 39-year-old Klamath Falls resident Joshua Eli Epps.
But KCSO says when deputies responded to the 1800 block of Carlson Dr. to take Epps into custody, he attempted to flee the scene in a motorhome.
During the chase, KCSO says Epps struck four vehicles, a patrol vehicle, and fired shots towards them. Thankfully no one was hurt.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A man was arrested after a police chase for recklessly driving and not maintaining the lane of travel according to Walworth County Sheriff’s office.
On Saturday at approximately 11:10 a.m., Walworth County Deputies were on patrol I-43 southbound near Bowers Rd. in the Town of LaFayette, Walworth County. They noticed a silver vehicle traveling considerably slower than the posted 70 mph speed limit.
Officials said the driver was seated low in his seat and was reaching over the front area of the vehicle. The vehicle was swerving within its lane and impeded traffic. Walworth’s Sherriff’s office said the deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the suspect did not stop. The driver increased his speed to 108 mph.

A Friday police chase on Interstate 70 between Rifle and Parachute led to the arrest of the driver on narcotics charges after he was allegedly found in possession of a large quantity of suspected fentanyl pills, according to a Garfield County Sheriff’s Office news release issued Saturday.
At about 2 p.m. Friday, investigators with the multi-jurisdictional Special Problems Enforcement and Response team (SPEAR) and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted a vehicle near Rifle for driving recklessly.
“The driver chose to elude the deputy who first made contact and headed west on I-70 toward Grand Junction,” the release states. “Spike strips were deployed near mile marker 81 of I-70 in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued west for a few more miles until it came to a stop near the Garfield/Mesa County line with both rear tires disintegrated.”

New York State Police say three people have been charged after a police chase from Rochester to Ontario County.
Troopers say it started around 11:20 p.m. on Monroe Avenue near Interstate 490 when a person driving a stolen car refused to stop.
They led troopers on a chase through the city, then onto 490 and the Thruway.
Troopers eventually used Stop Sticks, which led to a foot chase.
Reginald Johnson and Norman Sandoval of Rochester and Tara Reynolds of Lake Placid are facing a slew of charges, including driving while ability impaired.

Georgetown County deputies were dispatched to Johnson Road at around 10:50 PM Thursday to assist the SC Highway Patrol with a vehicle chase.
According to a GCSO incident report, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at a safety checkpoint that was being conducted on Johnson Road.
The SCHP reported the chase proceeded to Brick Chimney Road, then to Highway 521 towards Andrews. The driver turned around and started driving toward Georgetown. It was reported the chase reached speeds of 115 MPH.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – Pleasant Prairie police said a man involved in a Friday police chase that led to a crash near U.S. Highway 41 and Wadsworth Road in Illinois was arrested Saturday, Dec. 31. In a news release, police identified the man as 32-year-old Devin Dussault of Zion, Illinois. Officials said he is also a suspect in several stalking and criminal damage investigations – and his “actions have become increasingly more violent.”
Police spotted Dussault driving near 39th Avenue and 85th Street early Friday morning. When an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, Dussault sped off and the chase began.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Three South Florida men were taken into custody after deputies found 13 stolen catalytic converters in a stolen car driven by the men Wednesday.
Deputies said they were alerted to a car with a stolen license plate that had been reported out of Osceola County on Dec. 17. The car was traveling on Palm Coast Parkway when deputies utilized stop sticks on the car, hitting two tires that began to deflate.

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (WMBF) – New documents obtained by WMBF News show an arrest was made after police activity slowed traffic in part of Little River on Thursday.
A police report from the Horry County Police Department states officers stopped a suspect, 26-year-old Chance Mitchell, at the North Myrtle Beach Flea Market off Highway 17. The stop stemmed from a search warrant being served.
When one of the officers got out of their vehicle, they reportedly noticed the brake lights on Mitchell’s Jeep were still on.

A 24-year-old LeClaire man faces a felony charge after an Iowa State Trooper alleges he eluded police while he drove more than 100 mph early Thursday.
Shawn Housby faces a felony charge of eluding and a serious misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance – marijuana – second offense, court records say.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., an Iowa State Trooper alleges he saw a GMC SUV headed west on Interstate 74 near Middle Road at a high rate of speed, arrest affidavits say. The SUV exited onto Middle Road at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the red light before turning east. It then “began traveling at extremely reckless speed,” the trooper says in the affidavit.

WHITE CITY, Ore. – Christmas evening, a routine Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) patrol in White City discovered a driver passed out behind the wheel with fentanyl on his lap. During the arrest and search warrant, JCSO seized 93 grams of multi-colored powdered fentanyl. Preliminary tests confirmed the presence of fentanyl in the powdered substances seized and samples were sent to a crime lab for further testing.

Wyndham Vale man has been charged over a police chase through several Wyndham suburbs.
It is alleged the 35-year-old was driving a stolen car erratically in Werribee South early Thursday morning.
Officers followed the vehicle through Point Cook before using stop sticks on Sneydes Road.
The driver was arrested at the scene.
He has since been charged with offenses including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

Milwaukee Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Police Chase – Indiana
Indiana State Police arrested a Wisconsin man Tuesday afternoon for being impaired and leading them on a high-speed chase.
A state trooper pulled over 23-year-old Azjuan Meriwether of Milwaukee near Perrysville in Vermillion County.
The trooper discovered that Meriwether didn’t have a license and was wanted for resisting arrest in Vanderburgh County.
However, instead of getting out of the car, Meriwether cursed at the officer and sped away.
That started a wrong-way chase which soon reached speeds of 115 miles per hour.
Eventually, Meriwether’s tires were flattened by police stop sticks.

A man who was stopped in a high speed chase earlier this month on Highway 2 in West Glacier has a long criminal history in Flathead and Lincoln counties.
On Dec. 21, Montana Highway Patrol Troopers began a pusuit of Richard Mongan, 51, of Kalispell, near Browning and finally stopped him after Mongan’s truck was disabled by spike strips near West Glacier.
According to Montana State Prison records, Mongan has three felony DUI convictions in Flathead County and one in Lincoln County.
According to various Lincoln County court documents, Mongan had 35 arrests between 1987 and 2006 in Flathead and Lincoln counties for several felonies and misdemeanors.

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Wichita County deputies end a second chase with a pit maneuver hours after another high speed chase was brought to an end with spike strips and a pit maneuver on Monday night. The second chase began just after midnight Tuesday morning.
A deputy tried to pull over a vehicle with defective tag lights on Jacksboro Highway and Galveston. He said the vehicle kept going, and he chased it on East Scott, onto Rosewood, east on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., back to East Scott to Old Windthorst Road, south to Hatton Road and then west, where he was finally stopped with a pit maneuver.

Police have charged a man following a pursuit in Point Cook in the early hours of this morning.
Officers first observed an allegedly stolen black Honda SUV driving erratically on Duncans Road in Werribee South about 4.20am.
Police followed the car through Point Cook.
Stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle came to a stop on Sneydes Road.
The male driver was arrested at the scene.
The 35-year-old Wyndham Vale man has been charged with a number of offenses including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, failing to stop on police direction, disqualified driving, and handling stolen goods.

State Road 63 chase into Terre Haute hits 100 mph – Indiana
VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase ended in Terre Haute.
The chase started on State Road 63 and ended in Terre Haute near 3rd and Linden Streets.
Police tell News 10 speeds hit around 100 mph, driving the wrong way.
Officers used stop sticks to stop the vehicle.
Police said they tried to stop the driver originally for speed and drugs.

Dog, motorcycle found in stolen U-Haul after pursuit in Riverside County – California
A dog and a motorcycle were found inside a stolen U-Haul when a pursuit with authorities came to an end in Riverside County Monday night.
Deputies responded to the area of San Jacinto Avenue and 7th Street in San Jacinto to assist Hemet police who were in pursuit of the U-Haul, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Swan said.
The chase continued for about 25 minutes until authorities deployed spike strips and disabled the truck at San Jacinto Avenue and Florida Avenue in Hemet.
A man driving the U-Haul attempted to flee the scene on foot but was quickly captured by law enforcement, Swan said.

Flathead police chase leads to arrest of man wanted locally – Montana

A man wanted on a felony warrant out of Lincoln County led Montana Highway Patrol troopers on a long distance high speed chase Friday, Dec. 16, but gave up after spike strips were used to help disable the vehicle.
According to Trooper Laramie Stefani, the pursuit began near Browning on Highway 2 for Richard Mongan, 51, of Kalispell.
The initial chase was called off because of road conditions, but Stefani picked up the pursuit of the white pickup Mongan was driving near Nyack Flats.
Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies as well as more troopers assisted and spike strips were put down, blowing out at least one tire on Mongan’s truck.
