Man caught 2nd time trying to escape | Kitsap Daily News Washington

A 31-year-old Mountlake Terrace man was able to escape the law once – but not a second time.

He did escape Nov. 25 at around 9:22 p.m. while parked in a Silverdale store’s lot. The man in a gold Acura MDX had a felony warrant out for him for theft in the second degree.

When police made contact, he put the car in reverse, maneuvered between two patrol cars and sped off, but not before hitting a nearby parked vehicle, along with the passenger side of one of the police cars.

Suspect arrested after pursuit Vancouver, Canada

A 34-year-old Halifax man is facing charges following a police pursuit Thursday in Halifax County.

Authorities received a report from someone at Punks Self Service on Thursday that a vehicle was just stolen, according to a news release from Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

An investigator was in the area and saw a vehicle matching the description of what was stolen.

The news release did not detail the type of vehicle.

The suspect in the vehicle refused to stop and continued toward Chatham Road.

Tennessee man steals U-Haul, leads police on multi-county, high-speed chase Florida

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -A 50-mile pursuit involving several agencies has landed a Tennesse man behind bars.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said Joshua Cornelius, 40, of Lebanon, Tennessee led deputies in a pursuit while driving a stolen U-Haul that ended in Holmes County.

WSCO said that Cornelius was arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after being stopped, and he was given a signature bond and released Thursday morning.

Pike County law enforcement contacted Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies to let them know they were chasing a driver south on US 23, and he was refusing to stop.

OSP Troopers tossed out stop sticks near Cockrells Run and the vehicle went off the road. The driver took off on foot through a field and headed into a pond, where officers deployed a taser to bring him down. Officers sent for an ambulance to check the man out.

WEST ALLIS, WI — A police chase that began in Greenfield early Tuesday morning reached speeds of around 102 mph until it ended with a crash in West Allis and authorities seizing drugs and a gun, according to police reports released Friday.

The pursuit began near 108th Street and Beloit Road when an officer spotted a vehicle and tried to pull it over on suspicion of drug activity at a nearby motel, according to a report from the Greenfield Police Department. The 3.8-mile pursuit ended when the sedan crashed near South 60th Street and Lincoln Avenue, just after West Allis officers used stop sticks, police said.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, detectives observed a stolen car being driven recklessly in North Minneapolis earlier this week.

Just before detectives had spotted the vehicle, Minneapolis Police Department officers had attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver fled. The detectives used spike strips in an attempt to slow the vehicle down, but the driver continued to flee with deflated tires.

Moses Lake Police officers caught a suspected car thief from identifying shoe prints left in the snow Thursday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers identified a stolen vehicle on South Melva Lane near I-90.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, so officers used spike strips to try and stop the driver, but the driver continued.

Officers had to stop their pursuit in accordance with state law.

Three people arrested after high-speed pursuit through Fredericksburg Texas

Three people were arrested early Friday morning after leading deputies on a high-speed chase through downtown Fredericksburg.

Just before 3 a.m., a Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office deputy turned on his vehicle’s emergency lights and started following a suspicious car as it pulled out of the parking lot of B’s Automotive.

The car sped up and reached 98 miles per hour as it traveled on Main Street downtown.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police said a man was drunk when he stole an ambulance in Pittsburgh and drove away, stopping only after troopers deployed spike strips.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, just before 4:30 a.m. on Friday, medics were responding to a call on West Sycamore Street in Mt. Washington. As they were treating a patient, police said a man stole the ambulance and fled.

He drove the ambulance out of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania State Police said troopers picked up the chase in the area of Interstate 376 in Robinson Township, using spike strips to deflate the ambulance’s tires.

Police observed an allegedly stolen white Golf sedan drive through a red light on Glenroy Road in Glenroy about 10.10pm.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the car through Broadmeadows.

It is alleged the occupants of the car threw drugs out of the window during the pursuit, which were seized by police.

A man wanted on multiple charges got away from police only to be caught later that same day, according to deputies.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said Zanja Stinson was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and improper exhibition of a firearm. On Dec. 8, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest Stinson on these active warrants in Fort Pierce. He escaped into Fort Pierce and then Indian River County.

Michael Andrickson is facing charges for failure to comply with police following the incident early Friday morning. According to court documents, Ohio State Highway Patrol said it started on I-80 in Erie County and ended in Toledo.

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – Independence police have a man and woman in custody following a high speed chase Thursday afternoon.

Police tried to stop the car, which had a stolen license plate on it, around 3:45 p.m. near E. 23rd Street and S. Sterling Avenue.

The driver refused to stop, sped off, and went into Kansas City.

The chase went onto northbound I-35 and into the city’s northland. At time speeds reached up to 95 miles per hour.

“The Deputy clocked a vehicle at 78 in a 55 mile per hour zone and conducted a vehicle stop… While the Deputy was issuing commands to the driver, later identified as Jamar Newkirk, the vehicle then fled and the Deputy pursued. The suspect vehicle reached speeds in excess of 130 mile[s] per hour,” said the BCSO in a release.

A man from Missouri pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge Tuesday and admitted possessing a Glock handgun and a stolen AR-15-style pistol while fleeing from police in a stolen car.

Eric Davis, 31, of St. Louis, pleaded guilty in front of U.S. District Judge John A. Ross to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In his plea agreement, Davis admitted to driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee on May 4, 2021, and possessing a handgun and an AR-15-style pistol. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers initially spotted the Jeep because it had no license plate, and it then sped away from a stop sign at Minerva and Hamilton Avenues.

NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – Interstate 25 was closed for over three hours overnight after a Pueblo man eluded law enforcement in two different counties. He was wanted on several felony warrants as well as for hitting a Colorado Springs Police Department car before entering Douglas County.

On 12-06-2022, around 10:23 pm, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from Colorado Springs Police Department that a white SUV, driven by Eric Morales DOB 042195, was entering Douglas County. Morales was wanted on several felony warrants and had just hit one of their patrol vehicles, driven by an officer who was attempting to stop him.  Information was also relayed that there was an adult female, known to Morales, and a small child, inside the vehicle and that they may be there unwillingly.

Two men driving a car that had been reported stolen led police on a high-speed chase that started in Calvert County and ended in southern Anne Arundel. The incident occurred Sunday around 2:30 p.m., according to traffic citation data, and left a police cruiser hit.

According to Calvert sheriff’s office Deputy Michael Contic, while on routine patrol in Prince Frederick he saw a Hyundai with non-functioning tag lights traveling northbound on Route 2/4. Contic followed the Hyundai and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle’s driver turned on the hazard lights, the Hyundai stopped and Contic stated he saw the driver and passenger switch positions.

A chase that apparently started in Salisbury and went through both Rowan and Stanly counties Sunday afternoon was caught on video by multiple people in the area, including in Rockwell where the driver was reportedly stopped when police put down stop sticks.

An arrest was made, but information on the person arrested was not immediately available Monday.

The vehicle was reported to have made various turns and the reporting party thought
he may be headed to an address in Medford, Oregon.
