A 31-year-old Mountlake Terrace man was able to escape the law once – but not a second time.
He did escape Nov. 25 at around 9:22 p.m. while parked in a Silverdale store’s lot. The man in a gold Acura MDX had a felony warrant out for him for theft in the second degree.
When police made contact, he put the car in reverse, maneuvered between two patrol cars and sped off, but not before hitting a nearby parked vehicle, along with the passenger side of one of the police cars.
Suspect arrested after pursuit – Vancouver, Canada
A 34-year-old Halifax man is facing charges following a police pursuit Thursday in Halifax County.
Authorities received a report from someone at Punks Self Service on Thursday that a vehicle was just stolen, according to a news release from Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark.
An investigator was in the area and saw a vehicle matching the description of what was stolen.
The news release did not detail the type of vehicle.
The suspect in the vehicle refused to stop and continued toward Chatham Road.
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -A 50-mile pursuit involving several agencies has landed a Tennesse man behind bars.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said Joshua Cornelius, 40, of Lebanon, Tennessee led deputies in a pursuit while driving a stolen U-Haul that ended in Holmes County.
WSCO said that Cornelius was arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after being stopped, and he was given a signature bond and released Thursday morning.

Pike County law enforcement contacted Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies to let them know they were chasing a driver south on US 23, and he was refusing to stop.
OSP Troopers tossed out stop sticks near Cockrells Run and the vehicle went off the road. The driver took off on foot through a field and headed into a pond, where officers deployed a taser to bring him down. Officers sent for an ambulance to check the man out.
WEST ALLIS, WI — A police chase that began in Greenfield early Tuesday morning reached speeds of around 102 mph until it ended with a crash in West Allis and authorities seizing drugs and a gun, according to police reports released Friday.
The pursuit began near 108th Street and Beloit Road when an officer spotted a vehicle and tried to pull it over on suspicion of drug activity at a nearby motel, according to a report from the Greenfield Police Department. The 3.8-mile pursuit ended when the sedan crashed near South 60th Street and Lincoln Avenue, just after West Allis officers used stop sticks, police said.
Moses Lake Police officers caught a suspected car thief from identifying shoe prints left in the snow Thursday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., officers identified a stolen vehicle on South Melva Lane near I-90.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, so officers used spike strips to try and stop the driver, but the driver continued.
Officers had to stop their pursuit in accordance with state law.
Three people were arrested early Friday morning after leading deputies on a high-speed chase through downtown Fredericksburg.
Just before 3 a.m., a Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office deputy turned on his vehicle’s emergency lights and started following a suspicious car as it pulled out of the parking lot of B’s Automotive.
The car sped up and reached 98 miles per hour as it traveled on Main Street downtown.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police said a man was drunk when he stole an ambulance in Pittsburgh and drove away, stopping only after troopers deployed spike strips.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, just before 4:30 a.m. on Friday, medics were responding to a call on West Sycamore Street in Mt. Washington. As they were treating a patient, police said a man stole the ambulance and fled.
He drove the ambulance out of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania State Police said troopers picked up the chase in the area of Interstate 376 in Robinson Township, using spike strips to deflate the ambulance’s tires.

Two people have been charged following a pursuit in Broadmeadows overnight.
Police observed an allegedly stolen white Golf sedan drive through a red light on Glenroy Road in Glenroy about 10.10pm.
With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the car through Broadmeadows.
It is alleged the occupants of the car threw drugs out of the window during the pursuit, which were seized by police.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department says a suspected car burglar trying to get away from deputies slammed his car into another vehicle and then tried to make a run for it with a toddler in his arms.
The crash happened on Thursday afternoon at Appling Farms Parkway and Hillshire Drive in Northeast Shelby County.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A man wanted on multiple charges got away from police only to be caught later that same day, according to deputies.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said Zanja Stinson was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and improper exhibition of a firearm. On Dec. 8, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest Stinson on these active warrants in Fort Pierce. He escaped into Fort Pierce and then Indian River County.
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A man was arrested after officials say he led police on a chase and crashed into multiple vehicles.
Michael Andrickson is facing charges for failure to comply with police following the incident early Friday morning. According to court documents, Ohio State Highway Patrol said it started on I-80 in Erie County and ended in Toledo.
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – Independence police have a man and woman in custody following a high speed chase Thursday afternoon.
Police tried to stop the car, which had a stolen license plate on it, around 3:45 p.m. near E. 23rd Street and S. Sterling Avenue.
The driver refused to stop, sped off, and went into Kansas City.
The chase went onto northbound I-35 and into the city’s northland. At time speeds reached up to 95 miles per hour.
BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – One person was arrested and another is wanted after an attempted traffic stop by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office on N.C. 211 near the Robeson County line.
“The Deputy clocked a vehicle at 78 in a 55 mile per hour zone and conducted a vehicle stop… While the Deputy was issuing commands to the driver, later identified as Jamar Newkirk, the vehicle then fled and the Deputy pursued. The suspect vehicle reached speeds in excess of 130 mile[s] per hour,” said the BCSO in a release.
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A man was arrested after allegedly running from police and being found with a machine gun and illegal substances, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Deontae Jackson, 22, was arrested on the following charges:
- Possession of machine gun
- Two counts of resisting law enforcement
- Driving while suspended
- Unlawful carrying of a handgun
- Possession of cocaine
- Possession of marijuana
Officers with the Jefferson Police Department received the necessary training regarding their newly acquired Stop Sticks, a pursuit termination and pursuit prevention valued equipment, on Monday.
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – One man is behind bars after a stolen vehicle led law enforcement officials on a chase through North Topeka.
The Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office says that Miguel P. Ramirez, 38, of Topeka, is behind bars after a police chase on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Officials said that just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, they were called to reports of a stolen vehicle, a 2003 Cadillac Escalade, which had been parked at a business near Kansas Ave. and Highway 24.
Troopers pursued the driver of a Jeep on a chase with speeds well over 100 mph, according to OSHP.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A state trooper is recovering after they were injured following a high-speed pursuit with a suspect late Thursday night.
A trooper attempted to arrest the driver of a Jeep for impaired driving after they pulled them over for speeding sometime late Thursday evening.OSHP said an altercation ensued, and the driver led troopers on a high-speed chase with speeds well over 100 mph.
DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — A police shooting Wednesday morning temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in Davis County, causing massive backups as drivers embarked on their morning commute.
Layton police said a shooting on the freeway occurred, prompting the closure. The suspect is in custody and no officers were injured, police said.
A man from Missouri pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge Tuesday and admitted possessing a Glock handgun and a stolen AR-15-style pistol while fleeing from police in a stolen car.
Eric Davis, 31, of St. Louis, pleaded guilty in front of U.S. District Judge John A. Ross to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In his plea agreement, Davis admitted to driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee on May 4, 2021, and possessing a handgun and an AR-15-style pistol. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers initially spotted the Jeep because it had no license plate, and it then sped away from a stop sign at Minerva and Hamilton Avenues.

Police have charged three people following a pursuit overnight which ended in Keilor Downs.
A firearm was allegedly found in one vehicle and drugs were located in the other.
After observing an allegedly stolen car in Broadmeadows, police followed it through Pascoe Vale, Essendon and Moonee Ponds and finally to Keilor Downs, where the female driver left the car and got into a van.
With Air Wing assistance, police were able to deploy stop sticks in Westmeadows to stop the van.

NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – Interstate 25 was closed for over three hours overnight after a Pueblo man eluded law enforcement in two different counties. He was wanted on several felony warrants as well as for hitting a Colorado Springs Police Department car before entering Douglas County.
On 12-06-2022, around 10:23 pm, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from Colorado Springs Police Department that a white SUV, driven by Eric Morales DOB 042195, was entering Douglas County. Morales was wanted on several felony warrants and had just hit one of their patrol vehicles, driven by an officer who was attempting to stop him. Information was also relayed that there was an adult female, known to Morales, and a small child, inside the vehicle and that they may be there unwillingly.
High speed pursuit leads to arrest of former Norfolk resident – West Virginia
A former Norfolk resident was arrested following a high speed pursuit yesterday evening.
Sheriff Mike Unger said Stanton County Sheriffs attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 275 about five miles east of Norfolk for a headlight out around 5:30 p.m. The vehicle failed proceeded to take off and accelerated to speeds of over 100 miles an hour, before suddenly stopping in the median and turning back westbound on Hwy 275, traveling towards Norfolk.
WALLER COUNTY, Texas — According to Waller County police, a car chase ended after police deployed spike strips on a custom painted “Loki” Dodge Charger at 2:45 a.m. on Dec. 4.
To give some background, “Loki” is a popular Marvel comics supervillain, so an incident like this may have been foreshadowed.
Police say the car was heading north on Highway 6 when the chase began and ended on the median near Farm to Market Road 2154.

A teenage driver faces charges following a high-speed pursuit that began Sunday evening near Coon Rapids. According to the Coon Rapids Police Department, law enforcement received a report a 16-year-old female had taken a relative’s vehicle without permission. Authorities initiated a traffic stop on the car east of town on Highway 141. The driver did not yield to law enforcement’s lights and sirens and fled, reaching speeds over 90 mph.
LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) – A Louisiana man allegedly claimed “demons were going to kill him” after stealing a car in Brigham City and crashing it into a pole in Logan on Monday, Dec. 5.
Malcolm Vanburen, 26, was arrested and booked on charges of receiving a stolen vehicle (second-degree felony), failure to stop or respond at the command of the police (third-degree felony), possession of a controlled substance (Class ‘A’ misdemeanor), driving with a measurable controlled substance (Class ‘B’ misdemeanor), reckless driving (Class ‘B’ misdemeanor), accident involving property damage (Class ‘B’ misdemeanor), and speeding (infraction).
According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest of a suspected violent gang member was made on Monday.According to investigators, Luis Lopez, 35, was wanted for kidnapping, domestic violence and auto theft-related charges. He was found by investigators in Prunedale on Castroville Boulevard. A sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over Lopez, who was driving a Dodge Charger.

Driver leads police on chase through Canoga Park – California
Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of a driver in a red pickup truck in the area of Canoga Park Tuesday night.
The pursuit suspect had been seen driving erratically through intersections, though not traveling at very high rates of speed.
Aerial video from Sky5 showed officers throwing out a spike strip that the driver avoided, before having to leave the pursuit.
Two men driving a car that had been reported stolen led police on a high-speed chase that started in Calvert County and ended in southern Anne Arundel. The incident occurred Sunday around 2:30 p.m., according to traffic citation data, and left a police cruiser hit.
According to Calvert sheriff’s office Deputy Michael Contic, while on routine patrol in Prince Frederick he saw a Hyundai with non-functioning tag lights traveling northbound on Route 2/4. Contic followed the Hyundai and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle’s driver turned on the hazard lights, the Hyundai stopped and Contic stated he saw the driver and passenger switch positions.
AUSTIN — A 20-year-old Wykoff man is facing several charges in Mower County District Court related to a November drunk driving pursuit that ended with sheriff deputies tackling him in a Grand Meadow apartment.
Adam Scott Everson is charged with second-degree assault and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, both felonies. He’s also charged with possessing a firearm while using a controlled substance, a gross misdemeanor, and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Truck rented by Amazon for extra deliveries is stolen, taken on chase

A chase that apparently started in Salisbury and went through both Rowan and Stanly counties Sunday afternoon was caught on video by multiple people in the area, including in Rockwell where the driver was reportedly stopped when police put down stop sticks.
An arrest was made, but information on the person arrested was not immediately available Monday.
Klamath County Sheriff’s Office make arrest after a pursuit involving an individual making threats with a handgun– Oregon
December 2, 2022 at approximately 1:00PM Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 400 block of Sharp Road on a report of an individual that showed up at that residence and making threats with a handgun. It was also reported that the individual was wearing a “bulletproof vest”. The individual left the scene prior to deputies arriving and began traveling southbound on highway 97. The vehicle was reported to have made various turns and the reporting party thought
he may be headed to an address in Medford, Oregon.
KALISPELL – Law enforcement was involved in the pursuit of a Kalispell armed robbery suspect on Sunday night.
Flathead County Sheriff‘s Office deputies — along with Kalispell Police officers began pursuing the vehicle shortly after 9 p.m.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino says the incident involved a previously reported stolen vehicle as well as a suspect in an armed robbery that happened on Main Street in Kalispell.
