STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A Michigan man has been arrested following a chase through Fremont Indiana.
In a press release from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched just after 9:30 a.m. on an assist with a vehicle pursuit from Branch County Michigan Sherriff’s Office. Branch County indicated that the vehicle was heading southbound and it was a dark-colored Pontiac Montana with no license plate. Officers were also told that stop sticks had been previously used on the vehicle.
Once officers arrived in the area stop sticks were deployed on County Road 700 on Fremont Road. The suspect vehicle struck the stop sticks with 2 previous deflated tires, causing a third tire to become deflated. The pursuit then continued through the town of Fremont on State Road 827 where the vehicles’ speeds were varying from 40 to 55 mph. A second set of stop sticks were deployed near County Road 300 N, but the vehicle avoided hitting them.D

PAW PAW — A 29-year-old woman faces multiple charges following an attempted traffic stop in Paw Paw early Tuesday morning, Nov. 21.
Van Buren County deputies became aware of the suspect – believed to have lived in eastern Michigan but with a driver’s license from Missouri – at 4 a.m. when central dispatch received a report of a silver SUV with no tail lights driving through Paw Paw. Police said the driver was described to be driving erratically and disobeying traffic lights, according to a news release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
A Paw Paw police officer located the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. However, the driver did not stop and began to flee the scene. Van Buren deputies took over the pursuit as the vehicle traveled northbound on M-40 and out of the village.

Palmer, Alaska (KINY) – On Saturday, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Alaska State Troopers, Palmer Post, attempted a traffic stop on a 1983 Subaru Brat for an equipment violation on Trunk Road near PWH.
The vehicle failed to yield a pursuit ensued southbound on the Glenn Highway.
With the assistance of the Anchorage Police Department, spike strips were successfully employed, causing the driver of the vehicle to intentionally crash before fleeing into a Peters Creek residential neighborhood.
With the assistance of the Wasilla Police Department Officers, including K9 Echo, Anchorage Police Department, including their K9s, the suspect was located hiding on an elevated porch of a residence and taken into custody without further incident.
LAKE ST LOUIS, Mo. — Police found a stolen car from Nevada in Lake St. Louis Friday afternoon thanks to a FLOCK camera.
St. Charles County Police found the car near Bent Oak Apartments in Lake St. Louis. Police officers then tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect intentionally rammed an O’Fallon Police Department squad car and drove away, which led to a pursuit.
One person who lives nearby caught the commotion on her balcony camera while she was away.

PIERCETON — A Fort Wayne man was recently arrested following a high-speed vehicle pursuit with law enforcement.
Nicholus Karl Smith, 44, Fort Wayne, is charged with resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony; criminal mischief and criminal recklessness, a class B misdemeanor; and reckless driving, a class C misdemeanor.
Around 2:50 a.m. Nov. 20, a Pierceton Police officer noticed an SUV traveling west on US 30 at a high rate of speed. The officer alerted the Warsaw Police Department to watch for the speeding vehicle.
According to court documents, when the SUV entered city limits, a Warsaw Police officer clocked the vehicle’s speed at 109 mph while in a 45 mph zone. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but its driver, later identified as Smith, did not stop.
Smith continued traveling west on US 30 while changing lanes erratically and reaching speeds in excess of 120 mph. Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit, which continued into Marshall County. The pursuit ended west of Bourbon when officers deployed stop sticks. The front passenger tire of the SUV was flattened and eventually came off the vehicle, hitting a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and damaging it.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting involving the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office on busy State Road 200 in Marion County.
According to a news release issued by Citrus County sheriff’s officials, their deputies tried to stop a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle in the town of Hernando because the driver was suspected of having a felony warrant. Authorities did not provide details about the warrant.
The driver, so far identified only as a man, did not stop. Citrus deputies chased his SUV, and one attempt to end the pursuit with stop sticks was unsuccessful. The deputies tried stop sticks again and managed to slow the SUV, but the man continued driving and entered Marion County via SR 200.

At around 1.30 am on Friday, November 24, officers were called to an area of Buckingham after a Ford had been ‘seen involved in suspected drug deal’.
A pursuit began in the town after a lengthy chase that eventually ended in Aylesbury, some 17 miles away, the driver was apprehended by the authorities.

It had been confirmed that the person in question had his car tires deflated via the stop-stick, but ‘decamped’ to try and evade getting caught.

Police charged a man yesterday after he allegedly evaded officers throughout the Greater Bendigo area. Consequently, they charged the 19-year-old man, who has no fixed address, with 45 offenses.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in Bendigo where police first spotted an allegedly stolen 2006 Holden Utility on Holdsworth Road about 1:30 p.m. Subsequently, officers followed the vehicle, which was allegedly driving at an excessive speed and running red lights.
Furthermore, with the assistance of Air Wing, police continued their pursuit, though they were unsuccessful in their attempt to intercept the car on Emmeline Drive in Maiden Gully. Ultimately, Air Wing and officers on the ground continued to follow the vehicle as it allegedly drove erratically through numerous suburbs, including Maiden Gully, Ironbark, Eaglehawk, North Bendigo, East Bendigo, Strathdale, and Flora Hill.
Deputies charged two individuals following a vehicle pursuit, they said.
On Thursday, at approximately 7:49 a.m., a Henry County Deputy was patrolling, traveling North on the Rt. 220/58 Bypass.
A white Chevrolet pick-up swerved into the deputy’s lane, nearly striking the patrol vehicle. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the truck near the Irisburg Road exit. During the stop, the deputy observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and the driver appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, deputies said.
As the deputy attempted to remove the driver from his vehicle, the driver suddenly fled the scene. The driver then led deputies on a 37-mile-long pursuit. While pursuing the vehicle on Airway Drive, the suspect drove the vehicle off-road, and a deputy attempted to stop it by pinning it against a tree. The suspect vehicle was temporarily disabled, and deputies exited their vehicle to attempt to take the driver into custody, deputies said.
A Wichita man has been arrested on suspicion of felony flee and elude and other counts after work by Lyon and Chase county deputies earlier this week.
Lyon County Detective Eric Williams says the incident began unfolding around 3:15 am Tuesday when a Lyon County deputy saw a car using Interstate 35 to go southbound around Emporia at a high rate of speed. The deputy tried unsuccessfully to do a traffic stop and then started chasing the car, with the pursuit going to US Highway 50 and then west into Chase County. Williams says Chase County deputies then used stop sticks to end the chase just west of Strong City.

Cameron Curtis (31), of Milwaukee, faces felony charges of robbery and physical abuse of an elder person for the carjacking of a 94-year-old woman in Brown Deer.
On October 18, the victim was exiting her car at a Goodwill when Curtis allegedly demanded her vehicle. When she resisted and tried to drive away, the complaint states he “threw her hard to the ground” before stealing her 2001 Cadillac. The victim sustained injuries to her neck, hip, and knee.
The stolen car was spotted the next day, leading police on a 29-mile pursuit that finally ended in an arrest after officers successfully deployed Stop Sticks. Curtis was behind the wheel and later identified on surveillance video from the carjacking scene. If convicted, he faces up to 27 years in prison.

Charges were filed Tuesday in Waukesha County against three Milwaukee men accused of a terrifying carjacking at the Waukesha Walmart Sunday night, forcing a woman from her car while pointing a shotgun at her.
Milwaukee police started a high-speed pursuit on Monday after they spotted Charles Lewis (46), a South Milwaukee man, allegedly dealing drugs at a gas station.
The chase stretched from Milwaukee to Kenosha County. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit and deployed Stop Sticks to help end the chase.
Authorities successfully boxed Lewis’s vehicle in on Interstate 94 in Kenosha County, just before the Highway C exit. The Sheriff’s Office released bodycam footage, which showed the deployment and the subsequent arrest.
Upon searching Lewis’s car, officers found a small amount of crack cocaine and paraphernalia. The Sheriff’s Office noted suspicion that Lewis had attempted to destroy additional drugs because multiple baggies “appeared to have been bitten off.”

New Mexico State Police, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Honmei Clark, a man wanted for a triple homicide in Colorado.
The shooting, which occurred Monday over a land dispute in Custer County, Colorado, resulted in the deaths of three people and the injury of a fourth. Colorado officials were unsure of Clark’s direction of travel.
New Mexico State Police successfully located the suspect’s vehicle on I-40 near Albuquerque. Authorities utilized Stop Sticks to halt the truck near Highland Meadows and safely take the suspect into custody. A woman in the vehicle was not arrested.
The apprehension was announced by the U.S. Marshal for Colorado, Kirk Taylor, who was “super thrilled” the manhunt was over.

Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a teen Saturday night after he drove a U-Haul recklessly across Spokane Valley and fled law enforcement.
Around 10 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a U-Haul truck on E. Sprague Avenue near Pines Road when they observed the driver speeding, crossing lanes without signaling, and nearly hitting another vehicle.
Deputies reported that, as they tried to pull over the truck, the driver ran a red light, began swerving, and sped up to around 75 mph.
Deputies suspected the driver was under the influence, so the Spokane Regional Air Support Unit’s Air-2 began tracking the fleeing U-Haul.
Metro Police officers arrested a man and woman after they located narcotics and weapons in a vehicle where they found the pair sleeping.
The officers responded to the Chase Cove Apartments on Smith Springs Road around 5:00 p.m. Monday. They found a metallic silver Kia Soul that had fled an investigative stop on Murfreesboro Pike in the days prior.
According to an affidavit, the officers found a pickup truck, painted the same metallic silver, beside the Kia. Police reported that they searched the truck’s VIN and discovered that someone had reported it stolen earlier this month.
When the officers approached the vehicles, they found two individuals, Shay Williams Jr. and Kimberly Thompson, sleeping in the Kia.
Since the Kia had already fled the officers once and parked next to a stolen vehicle, the officers placed spike strips under the Kia.
