Winston man faces assault and attempt to commit murder charges following standoff – Oregon
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.- A Winston Man is facing a number of charges including kidnapping, assault, and attempt to commit murder or treason.
48-year-old Carlos Bernal is in Douglas County Jail following an hours-long standoff near Green Saturday night. Shortly after 9:00 p.m., deputies tried to stop of car in the 2500-block of Strickland Canyon Road. They said the driver tried to escape law enforcement.

PITTSBURG, Texas (KLTV) – Sunday morning, the Pittsburg Police Department assisted in a vehicle pursuit involving a stolen Jeep Wrangler from Harrison County.
The chase took place at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Hwy 11 E. At the request of DPS, patrol officers deployed stop sticks in an attempt to disable the stolen vehicle, a social media post from the police said.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) says this evening the driver is Elizabeth Katherine Essex of Ashland.

The EVOC course, which contains approximately 3.2 miles of roadway, built more than 20 years ago and fallen into disrepair, has been resurfaced at the cost of $2.4 million.

BEDFORD – On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge John M. Plummer III sentenced Jerron Williams to 12 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Williams, 38, pleaded guilty to felony charges of auto theft and resisting law enforcement stemming from an incident that took place on November 15, 2021, near Judah. According to the probable cause affidavit, an elderly couple had stopped at the State Road 37 intersection to see if Williams needed help when the truck he was driving broke down. It was determined later that the white truck was reported stolen earlier in the day from Indianapolis.

It is alleged the man, who was driving a stolen vehicle, had a handgun on Leakes Road about 9.50pm. Police were told three people got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, before the Air Wing spotted one man getting into another car. Police attempted to intercept the car and stop sticks were deployed, but the vehicle continued to drive through Altona. During the chase along Queen Street in Altona Meadows, a resident’s car was struck just before they entered their home. A police vehicle went crashing into the residents brick pillared fence and later had to be towed from the scene.

Police said they observed a suspicious vehicle and utilized stop sticks which caused the suspect vehicle to lose a tire and come to a stop in the median on southbound I-35. A 23-year-old male suspect from Kansas City fled the scene on foot but was quickly taken into custody by Clay County Sheriff deputies.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – A highway chase ended in a crash after a woman wanted on charges of theft fled from a traffic stop.
Smith County Precinct 4 Constable Josh Joplin explained the pursuit started on Highway 31 in Smith County and ended with a wreck at Fourth and Wilson Streets near Highway 80 in Longview.
The chase ensued after officers tried to make a traffic stop. The driver is wanted for multiple warrants in Texas.

Little Rock police arrested a woman accused of kidnapping three children in a stolen vehicle Wednesday.
Kimberly Pace, 39, was charged with three counts of kidnapping, theft of property, felony fleeing, and driving on a suspended license, according to a police report.
Officers said they were dispatched to 8717 Geyer Springs Road around 5:40 p.m. in reference to a kidnapping. The report said the children’s mother told them she was driving three children in a 1997 Honda Accord to Citi Trends before the incident.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A police pursuit that began in San Diego’s Paradise Hills area ended in a crash in Encanto and the driver’s arrest.
At around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, San Diego Police officers pulled over a black Lexus as part of a traffic stop, but the car sped away.
The Lexus’ driver proceeded to lead officers on a chase that lasted several minutes before a deployed spike strip blew out the car’s tires.

A spike strip and tactical vehicle manoeuvres were necessary to stop a suspect from fleeing in a vehicle early Wednesday, according to LaSalle police. The situation started shortly before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance. At the centre of the situation was a 54-year-old Windsor male. LaSalle police said the suspect was leaving the scene in his vehicle just as officers were arriving. The responding officers recognized the suspect as being in violation of court-ordered conditions. A tire-deflation device was deployed in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — Two people were arrested after a lengthy police pursuit and brief standoff in Henry County late Tuesday, police said. Around 10 p.m., a Henry County deputy witnessed a car commit multiple traffic infractions in the area of North 31st and Broad streets in New Castle, police said. When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, the white Chevrolet S-10 fled eastbound on State Road 38.

Last Tuesday at about noon, Goldendale Police Officers Sergeant Mike Smith and Officer Kelsey Rooks responded to a report of a 2002 Wells Cargo 6’ x12’ trailer being stolen from a carport in the Byers Street area. The trailer was full of tools and appliances. The owner of the trailer saw the suspect vehicle pulling away from his residence with his trailer. The owner followed the vehicle, which stopped due to the front jack on the trailer still being down and dragging. The trailer owner confronted the suspect, later identified as Elias Villanueva Ramirez, and there was a minor altercation. The suspect was able to get back to his vehicle and flee without the trailer.

CLARK COUNTY Wash. (KPTV) – The Clark County Sheriff’s Office arrested a driver after receiving reports of a truck driving on its rim without a tire on Wednesday.
Deputies responded around 1 a.m. to the 15900 block of NE 76th Street after callers reported the Ford F-250 throwing sparks and gouging the pavement.
Once at the scene of the initial call, deputies began following the trail of gouged pavement, leading them to the truck in the 18200 block of NE 119th Street. The CCSO reported the vehicle was found still driving on its rims and swerving in the road.

Terre Haute Police Chief Shawn Keen says officers went to a home on North 15th Street in reference to a man with a warrant. He says the man threatened to shoot officers and the Special Response Team was activated.

Christian Authur Kimbro was charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and misdemeanor reckless driving. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Idaho State Police, a trooper was driving eastbound on US 20 in Bonneville County on Oct. 29.

More Details Released Regarding High Speed Chase – Illinois
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about a high speed chase that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26th. A Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a black Chevrolet Impala with Texas plates committing a traffic violation on Interstate 55. The vehicle pulled to the shoulder near mile marker 232 and stopped.
The deputy approached the vehicle on the passenger side and the vehicle sped off. The deputy re-entered his squad car and began to pursue the Impala when it reached speeds of 110 mph. The vehicle traveled northbound on I-55 toward Channahon.

A stolen truck chase that began in Titusville, and ended in Cocoa at the western end of the Hubert H. Humphrey Bridge on S.R. 520, also resulted in damage to a police vehicle and another car being hit on the bridge. Westbound traffic on the causeway was delayed as Titusville Police, Cocoa Police and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office worked the scene where the truck, which was missing the front driver side tire, was halted with stop sticks after turning around in Merritt Island, and headed back towards Cocoa.

WORTHINGTON — A Windom man is charged with substance- and traffic-related crimes after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in Worthington.
On Oct. 26, a Worthington Police Officer reportedly observed a vehicle traveling in the city of Worthington with non-functioning driver and passenger side brake lights. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver pulled over onto Interstate 90, near Humiston Ave.
According to the report, when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver quickly accelerated onto I-90 at speeds of approximately 90 to 100 miles per hour.

Portland Police: Driver taken into custody for reckless driving, ramming police vehicle – Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Police took a driver into custody Sunday night after leading them on a cross-city jaunt, avoiding multiple attempts to be stopped and finally losing all the tires.
Just before 10:30 p.m., Sunday night, police observed a speeding and reckless driver near Southeast 122nd and Southeast Powell Boulevard.
The driver eluded officers and they did not pursue but continued to watch the car.
Police say they made several attempts at pursuit intervention techniques but were not able to bring the vehicle to a stop.

LAWRENCE CO., Ala. (WAFF) – During the past month Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and its Criminal Investigation Division received reports of theft of personal checks, forging and passing of those checks.
After an investigation Paden Terry, 34 was developed as one of the suspects. In that investigation, it was also learned that Terry along with other suspects have been involved in a multi-state crime spree across Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas in the past weeks.

VICTORIA, Texas – Local law enforcement arrested and charged Cherish Noman, of Victoria, with three counts early Monday morning following a vehicle pursuit.
On Monday, Oct. 31, at approximately 3:43 a.m., the Port Lavaca Police Department alerted the Victoria Police Department about a reported stolen vehicle possible being in Victoria. PLPD described the stolen vehicle as a blue Mercedes GLK.

A Houston Man was arrested Saturday after a car chase.
Brenham Police report that Saturday, close to noon, Cpl. Jose Perez attempted to effect a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the Highway 290 West Cloverleaf for reckless driving. Cpl. Perez activated his lights and sirens, which the driver of the vehicle disregarded. The pursuit traveled for approximately 20 miles before coming to an end in the area of Carmine after Washington County Deputies were able to successful deploy spike strips on the suspect vehicle. Lance Alan Pederson, 63 of Houston, was taken into custody for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated, and Reckless Driving.

Police chases have been glamorized in cinema and even in the news. Probably anyone over 50 remembers “Smoky and the Bandit.” That movie helped make Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields famous.
Younger people may recall the intense excitement of the chases depicted in “The Fast and the Furious” movies.
Many people surely remember when Los Angles black-and-whites trailed a white Ford Bronco along Interstate 405 on a June day in 1994. Inside the vehicle a friend drove passenger OJ Simpson away from police. People lined the road, cheering him on.

Police chase leads to speeding, child endangerment charges near Faribault – Minnisota
FARIBAULT, Minn. (KTTC) – One person was arrested after a police pursuit on I-35 near Faribault this afternoon.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, a trooper saw a vehicle speeding near mile marker 38 around 1 p.m. The trooper attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver didn’t obey, and a pursuit ensued. Stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle was disabled near Faribault.

Gulfport police recently recovered a stolen SUV near Boca Ciega High School after three teenagers “fled from the vehicle” on foot into a nearby neighborhood after police deployed special sticks that flattened one of the vehicle’s tires during a short pursuit.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, an officer saw a Chevy Tahoe stolen driving near the school at 58th Street and 17th Avenue South on Oct. 4 near dismissal time.D
