Harold Spencer, 33, received a 42-year prison sentence. He played a role in an armed robbery spree. The U.S. Attorney’s Office (EDVA) described Spencer as a Bloods gang member. Furthermore, he led a five-man crew. The group was responsible for at least six armed robberies. Court documents show police stopped the crew. This happened after an attempted robbery on March 18, 2022.
Laying Out the Evidence
During that March 18 incident, Spencer led Virginia Beach Police on a high-speed chase. The U.S. Attorney cited dash cam footage as evidence. This footage showed the men throwing loaded guns from the vehicle.
Police finally apprehended the men after several spike strip attempts. EDVA prosecutors noted police recovered ski masks and gloves. Moreover, the men’s clothes provided more evidence. They matched clothing seen in six prior surveillance videos.
Spencer reportedly shot and nearly killed a customer during one robbery. Afterward, he took a selfie. In that photo, he wore a ski mask. This mask was used in all six robberies. Police recovered the mask after the pursuit. Ultimately, officers found Spencer’s DNA inside it.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported the chase’s origin. The Patton Village Police Department received a call. It concerned an 18-wheeler driving erratically.
HOUSTON — Police took a driver into custody after the chase. The 18-wheeler chase occurred Saturday afternoon. This followed pursuit across the Houston area.
Police arrested Christopher John Lubowski, 51. He lives in Ormond Beach, Florida. Charges include felony evading and drug possession. The Roman Forest Police Department confirmed this. He is now held at the Montgomery County Jail.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the chase began around 1:45 p.m. It started when police received the erratic driving call. Ultimately, the pursuit lasted about two hours.
MCSO said the chase started locally. Subsequently, it passed through Harris County. Finally, it continued into Fort Bend County. HPD, Texas DPS, and other agencies assisted.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Baker County Deputies ended a multi-county vehicle chase. The pursuit began in Jacksonville on Friday, November 3.
The pursuit started when Bobby Gene Clemons carjacked a vehicle. This happened in downtown Jacksonville. Clemons fled from police and drove recklessly. He led the chase on Interstate 10. Subsequently, he crossed over into Columbia County.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office flattened the vehicle’s tires. They used Stop Sticks to achieve this. Next, the suspect turned onto US Highway 441. With the tires blown out, Baker County deputies successfully stopped the vehicle. They used a PIT maneuver to immobilize the car.
Authorities arrested Clemons. He is wanted for similar offenses in several other counties. Consequently, he now faces numerous charges in Baker County.

Next, the subject ran into a treeline. They reportedly displayed a weapon. This prompted an Ozaukee County Deputy to shoot the individual. Despite lifesaving efforts, the person died at the scene. Authorities recovered a firearm there.
Per policy, the involved deputy is on administrative leave. Furthermore, the Division of Criminal Investigation reviews evidence. They coordinate with the Crime Lab. Sheriff Christy Knowles confirmed officers wore body cameras.

Pierce County deputies successfully stopped a DUI driver. Specifically, they used Stop Sticks to end the pursuit.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police arrested a carjacking suspect Friday. He stole an electrical contractor’s van downtown. Subsequently, he led authorities on a multi-county chase.
The man stole the van from a downtown McDonald’s. Consequently, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office started the chase. The Baker County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit. This happened as the chase went west on Interstate 10.
CCSO eventually deployed spike strips in front of the van. The suspect drove over them. However, he kept going with flat tires. He continued onto Highway 441 north in Columbia County.
Authorities charged Ryan David Anderson, 41, of Bremerton. Charges include two counts of motor vehicle theft. Furthermore, he faces 10 counts of second-degree theft. He also faces a charge for attempting to elude police.
According to Officer Art Frank’s probable cause statement, a chase began August 25. Two JCSO patrol units pursued Anderson. Specifically, he drove a 2014 Toyota Scion recklessly. He drove at high speeds. Consequently, several other units covered the area.
Frank wrote that Anderson once slowed the Scion to 10 mph. He came to a full stop to decide his next move. Anderson rolled down his window and looked at the deputy. Frank yelled at him multiple times to stop fleeing. However, Anderson continued off. He soon drove over a spike strip and crashed into a ditch. This action finally disabled the vehicle.

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) – A high-speed chase ended in Columbia County on Friday afternoon after authorities chased a man from Jacksonville.
Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies assisted Baker County and Jacksonville sheriff’s deputies as they pursued a carjacking suspect on U.S. 441 North, just north of Interstate 10.
Columbia County deputies successfully deployed spike strips and a Baker County deputy used a pit maneuver to bring the stolen vehicle to a stop.
No injuries were reported.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – For our Crime of the Week we are revisiting the pursuit and arrest of two men on Maurine Street.
Two men are behind bars after police say they led officers on a pursuit down Maurine Street and through surrounding neighborhoods. The men were finally arrested after police used spike strips in order to get the driver to stop.
According to police, once the pair was in custody more than a thousand grams of methamphetamine were found to be in their possession, and with that much weight, police say, the drugs were clearly destined for the streets.
“On October 13 officers with our special operations unit tried to stop a vehicle,” WFPD Sgt. Charlie Eipper said.

ST. GEORGE — A report of illegal camping led to a pursuit. Ultimately, the chase started in Arizona and ended in an arrest on Interstate 15 in Washington County Tuesday afternoon.
The incident began shortly after noon. Initially, a Bureau of Land Management ranger responded to a desolate area. This followed a report of someone camping along the Arizona strip.
The ranger told the suspect he needed to leave. Furthermore, the suspect was wanted on a felony warrant from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During the call, a background check indicated the active arrest warrant. When confronted about the warrant, the suspect immediately got into the vehicle. Consequently, he fled the area, with the federal agent in
tow.

YUBA COUNTY – A Sacramento man was arrested after a high-speed chase. Specifically, the pursuit starting in Linda ended when the Sacramento Police Department used a canine to detain the suspect. This is according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.
Early Thursday morning, at about 1:20 a.m., deputies responded to a home. They arrived on Swaisy Drive in Linda following a burglary report. Deputies said the victim reported her ex-boyfriend broke the back door glass to enter the home.
However, when deputies arrived, the suspect, 52-year-old Tawn Saephan, was gone. Subsequently, as sheriff’s deputies continued the investigation, the victim pointed out the suspect’s vehicle.

Police charged two teenagers after an extended pursuit last month. This occurred in Point Cook.
Police allege the pair traveled in a stolen vehicle on Grassbird Drive. This happened about 12:20 p.m. on October 31. Officers successfully deployed Stop Sticks. Subsequently, the offenders fled the vehicle. Police arrested them a short time later near a creek. This creek was on Mill Pond Drive.
Police charged a 14-year-old Tarneit boy with motor-vehicle theft. He also faces a charge for dealing property crime proceeds. He will face a children’s court later.
Furthermore, police charged a 19-year-old Wyndham Vale man. Charges include motor vehicle theft and failing to stop. He also faces charges for driving unsupervised and failing to answer bail. Additionally, he knowingly dealt with proceeds of crime.
CASS COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man is in custody following a stolen vehicle pursuit. This occurred Wednesday night in Cass County.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office attempted a stop Wednesday. Deputies tried to stop a vehicle around 8 p.m. near northbound I-49. This was just north of Highway 291 in Harrisonville.
However, the vehicle refused to stop. It had an unsecured Kansas plate covering an expired Missouri plate. Instead, the driver continued northbound on I-49.
Police deployed Stop Sticks. Subsequently, the driver began to lose its tires. The Sheriff’s Office then used the Grappler device. This finally stopped the vehicle just north of Peculiar.
A slow-speed pursuit ended Wednesday morning in Simi Valley. Ultimately, the situation involved a collision with a patrol car and an arrest.
The chase started about 3:56 a.m. Initially, an officer tried to stop a vehicle near Tapo Street and Eve Road. Simi police said the motorist refused to pull over. Instead, he drove on.
Officers followed the motorist through a residential area. He turned onto Alamo Street. Next, he proceeded to Yosemite Avenue. The vehicle consequently collided with a patrol car. An officer was using the car to set up a spike strip. Specifically, this occurred at a State Highway 118 ramp.
The collision ended the chase, which lasted minutes. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Police said the 23-year-old Northridge suspect left his vehicle. He became confrontational. However, officers took him into custody without incident. They booked him at Ventura County Jail. Furthermore, charges include DUI and evading police.

Two juveniles were taken into custody after a police chase that started in Riverside ended in Dayton early Wednesday morning.
Police were chasing a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was stolen off of Golden Meadows Ct., according to a spokesperson for the Riverside Police Department.
Body camera footage obtained by News Center 7 shows officers from Dayton and Riverside chasing the car throughout neighborhoods and streets.
The chase ends when stop sticks, deployed by Dayton police, disabled the car in the 1700 block of Woodman Drive.
Two juveniles get out of the car and start running from police as the car, still in drive, continues to move forward until it hits a curb.
An officer catches up to the juvenile driver and handcuffs him.
The second juvenile was taken into custody as well, according to a spokesperson for Riverside Police Department.
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A DWI suspect is accused of leading state troopers on a chase in Amarillo.
The pursuit began around 3:30 p.m. Initially, DPS tried to stop a car on Loop 335 at Saint Francis Avenue for speeding. However, the driver refused to stop.
Ultimately, the chase ended near Loop 335 and SW 9th Ave. Specifically, police used spike strips to flatten the tires on the Toyota Camry. Consequently, police arrested Dylan Casarez, 28, of Amarillo. He faces charges for DWI and evading arrest.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 28-year-old man was jailed after leading deputies on a chase exceeding 100 mph earlier this week, records show. The man drove toward a deputy attempting to toss stop sticks on the roadway, officials said.
Edward Tylor Gaban, of Fort Pierce, was charged with fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault on an officer, violation of probation and driving under the influence. Gaban was held Tuesday at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
Indian River County patrol deputies spotted Gaban driving a white BMW overnight on eastbound State Road 60 near 58th Avenue. Gaban accelerated in speed and began swerving, nearly striking the curb several times, reports show.
Deputies activated their emergency lights to attempt a traffic stop. Gaban sped into the parking lots of several businesses at high speed before traveling back onto 58th Avenue, reports show.
“The vehicle accelerated to speeds over 100 mph in a 45-mph zone swerving past vehicles,” deputies said in the arrest report.
A 24-year-old Hesston man has been charged after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase with two young children in his vehicle.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 9 p.m. Monday Kirklyn Strauser began the pursuit after being spotted by police in Walker Township, Huntingdon County.
Strauser’s license was suspended and he was wanted on a warrant for a burglary in the county.
According to the affidavit, during the pursuit Strauser drove his Chevrolet Avalanche through a private yard, drove at speeds of up to 100 mph and drove without headlights on.
The vehicle was stopped after police deployed a spike strip on state Route 26.
After being stopped, Strauser allegedly resisted arrest, according to the affidavit.
During the pursuit, Strauser had a woman, a 2-year-old child and a 6-month-old infant in his truck, according to the affidavit.

A driver fleeing police across several suburbs has crashed into another vehicle in Lynbrook on Wednesday 1 November.
The 34-year-old Hampton Park man was arrested at the scene of the crash on South Gippsland Highway in the early morning and later taken to hospital.
The driver of the other car, a 30-year-old Narre Warren South woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police had spotted a grey Jeep SUV wagon travelling at allegedly excessive speed on Monash Freeway about 4.40am.
The SUV was followed by police cars and the Air Wing until it briefly stopped in Hampton Park.
The man allegedly tried to open a home garage door in Aylesbury Court before he got back in the SUV and collided with a police vehicle.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Wichita Falls Police Department arrested two men yesterday, October 30. Specifically, this followed a short pursuit from Maurine Street into nearby residential neighborhoods.
The two men—45-year-old driver Nicholas Darcus and 35-year-old passenger Dmetrius Brooks—were arrested. Consequently, charges include manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and tampering with evidence.
Each suspect had a previous conviction for evading arrest. Furthermore, Brooks received an additional charge for resisting, according to police documents.
According to the probable cause affidavits, a patrolling officer noticed a car traveling northbound on US 287. Immediately, he ran its plates through the Mobile Data Terminal. The results returned a vehicle with no insurance record. This lack of insurance is illegal under Texas law.
The officer initiated a traffic stop. Subsequently, the car exited the freeway onto Maurine Street. However, instead of stopping, the driver accelerated. He began to evade police, thus entering a residential neighborhood.

The Sac City Police Department has released additional details from a high-speed, multi-county pursuit several weeks ago. Specifically, law enforcement states the pursuit began at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, in Sac City. An officer attempted a routine traffic stop for erratic driving. However, the driver, identified as 36-year-old Troy James Holicky of Manson, refused to yield. Consequently, the pursuit proceeded out of town towards Lake City. Speeds reached over 102 mph. Furthermore, the chase entered Calhoun County. An assisting officer from the Lake City Police Department deployed Stop Sticks, thereby deflating a rear tire.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday the arrest of a man who deputies say led them on a chase in the Ridgeville area.
Austin Michael Kirkham, 24, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and sirens, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Kirkham also was issued a citation for not having a vehicle license display.
A deputy responded to the area of Autonomous Drive in reference to a group of vehicles allegedly racing in the area.

ADDIS, La. (WAFB) – After an Addis Police Officer crashed into high schoolers Maggie Dunn and Caroline Gill during a police chase last New Year’s Eve, the department is making changes. Assistant Police Chief Jason Langlois said all of the department’s 16 officers are now equipped with stop sticks to help slow down or stop any police pursuits. They’re also adding dual-tone sirens and rumblers on all their units.
“These actually emit a bass tone so you can feel it in case they have the radio too loud or something so people start looking around and can clear an intersection or something when an emergency vehicle comes through,” said Langlois.

Pacific County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 26-year-old Aksel Strom. This occurred Friday night, October 27. Significantly, Strom was one of two men wanted in a homicide investigation. The crime took place near Poulsbo on October 3.
Authorities charged Strom and 29-year-old Caleb Ray Sloan with murder. In addition, they also faced first-degree burglary charges. The two men shot a 38-year-old victim. Subsequently, the victim died from the resulting injuries.
Therefore, authorities issued warrants for their arrests. Immediately afterward, a bulletin went out to local agencies. It sought an early 2000s gold Subaru wagon. The vehicle was seen heading east on Highway 6. Moreover, it carried a male driver and a female passenger. Police consequently considered both subjects armed and dangerous.
COVINGTON, Tenn. – The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office reported an end to a pursuit. Specifically, law officers chased a driver across several West Tennessee counties.
Deputies first started chasing the car in Lake County. This occurred on October 30 before midnight. Subsequently, the pursuit continued south. Indeed, it moved through Dyer and Lauderdale counties. Finally, it stopped in Tipton County, north of Covington. Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley confirmed this.
The car stopped abruptly after its tires hit spike strips. Clearly, deputies placed the strips down strategically. Officers reported the successful stop. However, no other information was immediately released.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people. In fact, this happened early Monday morning. Ultimately, a car chase led to a lockdown at Peninsula Hospital.
Officials said the incident began just before 3 a.m. Initially, law enforcement learned about a stolen Jeep. This Jeep, moreover, connected to several auto burglaries.
Deputies quickly found the vehicle. Specifically, license plate readers in Millbrae spotted the Jeep. This occurred around 3:40 a.m. The Jeep’s driver subsequently tried to flee. However, spike strips popped three of the vehicle’s tires.
The driver nonetheless continued fleeing but then stopped. This occurred near the hospital entrance. By that time, the tires had completely fallen off the rims. Deputies immediately arrested two people. Meanwhile, the others ran toward a parking structure. This action consequently prompted a hospital lockdown.
San Bruno police used a drone. Therefore, they soon arrested the remaining suspects.

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN)— Police arrested a Madison County man in Coffee County. This followed a nearly hour-long high-speed chase near Enterprise.
The incident began around 12:30 p.m. Monday. First, Enterprise Police received reports of a stolen Chevrolet truck. The theft occurred at a McDonald’s parking lot.
Sheriff Scott Byrd said officers soon spotted the truck. Consequently, a chase ensued around the City of Progress. It lasted nearly 30 minutes. The pursuit continued north on Highway 167.
The suspect was 28-year-old Courtney Darnell Akins. He then turned around on the highway. Akins drove directly into pursuing law enforcement. This crowd included multiple agencies. Dale and Coffee County Deputies were present. Enterprise Police, State Troopers, and an SBI agent also participated. Sheriff Byrd and Sheriff Mason Bynum brought up the group’s rear.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Police booked 20-year-old Jessica Brownrigg into the Tom Green County Jail. Specifically, she led San Angelo Police on a chase Saturday.
The San Angelo Police Department said police arrested Brownrigg after the pursuit in the south side of San Angelo. Consequently, Brownrigg faces multiple charges connected to the incident.
The incident began when an SAPD patrol officer initiated a traffic stop near Washington Avenue and West Avenue D. Brownrigg initially complied. However, she then took off before the officer concluded the stop.
Brownrigg evaded officers and, at one point, drove the wrong way on South Koenigheim Street. Finally, officers got in front of the pursuit. They successfully deployed “Stop Sticks” on Brownrigg’s vehicle in the 4000 block of South Bryant Boulevard. The strips successfully deflated all her tires, and she eventually stopped in the 1500 block of West Loop 306.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested three people who ran from a car. This happened after a chase along Interstate 205. Speeds reached over 100 mph.
The police chase started in the Vancouver area. However, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office called off the pursuit. This occurred when the driver crossed the Glenn Jackson Bridge into Portland.
At about 1 a.m. Monday, Portland Police officers picked up the chase. They received reports of a reckless driver speeding on the interstate. Subsequently, the driver eventually exited I-205. He then started driving on the surface streets. Police tried to use “Stop Sticks” on the car. Nevertheless, the driver kept going. He reportedly almost hit an officer.
Ultimately, police used a PIT maneuver to stop the driver. This happened when he hit an unoccupied parked pickup truck. The stop occurred near Southeast 112th Avenue and Bush Street.
