Pursuing a stolen motorbike, officers first used a Stop Stick to deflate the tyres, and then used Tactical Contact to bring everything to a halt. The Tactical Contact was hard enough to leave the front of the BMW pursuing the bike with some newly acquired front-end damage, and the rider and pillion “Surprised to say the least,” according to Merseyside Police. Both rider and pillion were arrested.

MEBANE, N.C. (WTVD) — One person is in custody after chase that spanned three North Carolina counties Thursday evening during rush hour.
Law enforcement, including NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) was seen surrounding a vehicle in the middle of I-40 west bound between Efland and Mebane where the chase ended in a crash.
The chase began in Wake County when officers tried to make a traffic stop and the driver attempted to hit deputies. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued, investigators said.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A woman who officials say nearly ran over a deputy performing a traffic stop was arrested Friday afternoon, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the LCSO, deputies heard reports of a reckless driver on Highway 126 outside Springfield in the afternoon of October 28. A 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2022 Dodge Durango were being tracked by the owner traveling north on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.
A short time later, the Durango had stopped at an unknown location in Marion County.
The Grand Cherokee was spotted about 45 minutes later by a Florida Department of Agriculture law officer. It was traveling north on Interstate 75. Shortly after, the officer attempted to stop the vehicle near mile marker 450 in Hamilton County.

A Lake County sheriff’s deputy’s K-9 assisted in capturing a suspected truck thief.
Deputies had been advised to look out for a white GMC Sierra which had been stolen Tuesday from a local business. A Lake County deputy spotted the truck driving northbound on U.S. Hwy. 441 early Wednesday morning. When the truck accelerated to get away from the deputy, he radioed for assistance. Deputies deployed stop sticks near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 441 and County Road 44 in Leesburg. The stolen truck ran over the stop sticks, puncturing all the trucks tires. The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Barry Earl Wilbanks, continued to drive the truck even though the tires came off the wheels.

Three people died and two others were injured during a shooting while participating in a car caravan at the intersection of South Archer Avenue and South Kedzie Avenue, the Chicago Tribune reported.
“Car caravans and drag racing can be stopped if police are allowed to make arrests, confiscate cars and impose heavy fines,” Democrat Mayoral Candidate Paul Villas wrote on Twitter. “Social media monitoring gives police and city tow and boot crews time to mobilize and to even prepare to disable vehicles by laying spike strips.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A police officer was hurt when a suspect rammed their car into a police cruiser during a multi-county chase, according to police.
Georgetown police say around 1 a.m. Friday they were alerted to a stolen license plate by their flock camera system. Officers responded to the Towson Way area where they found the car unoccupied and running.

A police pursuit that started on Interstate 39 in LaSalle County and ended in the village of Clinton, Wisconsin leads to the arrest of three people from Wisconsin. Illinois State Police say they were called to Interstate 39 south of Tonica around eight Thursday night after reports of an interstate shooting. Police were able to find the suspects’ vehicle near LaSalle and began following it. Near Mendota, ISP says one of the three people in the vehicle fired multiple shots and hit one of the squad cars. None of the officers were injured. The pursuit eventually ended up in Wisconsin where Clinton police officers used spike strips to stop the car.

MENDOTA – A vehicle carrying three individuals fired upon civilians and state police officers during a pursuit that crossed state lines Thursday night. The Illinois State Police say they received a call about a shooting that caused property damage along I-39 in southern LaSalle County. Troopers had located a suspected vehicle traveling northbound, when a passenger allegedly began firing shots that reportedly struck a squad car. Multiple agencies joined the pursuit, culminating in the vehicle being stopped in Clinton, Wisconsin with stop sticks.

Lexington, Richmond PD involved in vehicle pursuit – Missouri
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. – Lexington police said a driver fled from an attempted traffic stop last night.
The pursuit of the suspect vehicle was joined by Richmond Police, and ended in Clay County where deputies deployed spike strips, deflating the tires. The driver and a passenger, both of whom had suspended licenses, were the subjects of warrants out of Independence and Kansas City.

An investigation is underway into an incident that played out Thursday night along Interstate 39 in Starved Rock Country.
At about 8:00, Illinois State Police troopers responded to a report of a shooting incident that happened in the area of the Lostant exit.
A trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle near La Salle-Peru and began following it. After tailing the vehicle north on I-39 for close to 20 miles, a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle fired multiple shots at the trooper following them. The squad car was struck but the trooper wasn’t injured. Later, near Rockford on I-39, more troopers started chasing the vehicle, and air operations had the vehicle in sight.

A BONNER man has been charged with seven offences after being caught in a Mitsubishi Lancer with stolen number plates – breaching existing bail conditions.
About 4pm yesterday (October 25) officers from Operation Toric found the parked car in Bruce and saw the 44-year-old Bonner man return to the vehicle.
Police say the man attempted to leave the scene, however stop sticks were successfully used and the man was arrested.

A man who stole a city of Deming utility truck in what was reportedly an “unarmed carjacking” Tuesday afternoon drew dozens of officers from law enforcement agencies across southwest New Mexico into a high-speed chase north on U.S. 180 — becoming a low-speed chase after the truck’s tires were flattened by spike strips near Faywood. The driver led police through the Mining District and along the parade route through downtown Silver City just after 4 p.m. on smoking rims. He evaded a police PIT maneuver in front of Albertsons before finally stopping at the intersection of U.S. 180 and N.M. 152 in Santa Clara, where the driver was arrested. Officers declined to release further information Tuesday evening.

Almont police reported that the pursuit began around 12:34 a.m. in the vicinity of Van Dyke Rd. near Hough Rd., and ended with the man’s arrest at a location on Van Dyke near M-90.

Nickel, 28, of Freeburg, was charged with aggravated fleeing/eluding police in connection with a Sept. 17 incident that originated in Smithton in which he fled from police in excess of 21 miles over the speed limit. Columbia police successfully deployed spike strips on Route 3, after which Nickel fled on foot. He was apprehended the next day in Columbia.

A Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a cross-county vehicle pursuit that began in Grant County following an incident that occurred in Dubuque, Iowa. At approximately 2:34 p.m., the Deputy deployed a spike strip, and the vehicle drove in the direction of the deputy, who discharged their firearm while in Lafayette County. The vehicle later crashed in Green County, where the driver fled on foot. As law enforcement was searching for the subject, a gunshot was heard and the individual was found near State Highway 11, west of County M. First responders administered first aid, but the individual died at the scene. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – A woman who escaped federal custody earlier this year in Sioux City has been arrested in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Karen Rose Merrick was convicted of being an accessory after the fact to a bank robbery that occurred in Le Mars Iowa in 2019. Merrick was sentenced to 30 months in prison, but she began a term of supervised release just over a year later in January of 2021.
