An Oxford man and Anniston woman were arrested Wednesday in Peachtree, Ga., after a dangerous high-speed chase through residential neighborhoods and school zones, officials say. Peachtree City Police Department was notified that two suspects, Travis Glenn Smelley, 52, of Oxford, and Natalie Nicole Dumitras, 42, of Anniston, were involved in a theft at a Home Depot there, according to Peachtree police Lt. Chris Hyatt.

Giving OJ Simpson’s pursuit a run for slowest ever, a driver fled law enforcement headed southbound on Hwy 101 for over 22 miles at speeds that never topped 40 mph and often were less than 20 mph. A spike strip finally disabled the vehicle and officers arrested Ginger Porter for a DUI. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jonathan Clevenger, the incident began with a call reporting a disabled vehicle.

Charges are pending against a suspected burglar from St. Cloud after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase that ended near Saint Joseph. On Tuesday, the Waite Park Police Department was called to the 400-block of 4th Street North at 12:14 a.m. for a suspicious vehicle and a possible burglary in progress. Arriving officers found a stolen U-Haul trailer from St. Cloud and the suspect vehicle. Police say they attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away at a high rate of speed, heading west on County Road 75/ Division Street.

While patrolling on Sept. 6, Preston County deputies attempted to pull over a pickup driven by Heidi Mae Faulkner, 46, of Terra Alta, because they knew she didn’t have a valid driver’s license. The ensuing 20-mile pursuit came to a halt when spike strips were deployed on the Brandonville Pike, flattening all four tires on the truck, which continued until a deputy drove in front of it. According to a criminal complaint, Faulkner was passing vehicles, causing them to take evasive action to avoid a collision, during the pursuit and hit the deputy’s cruiser when he pulled in front of her.

On August 6th a woman with restraints on her wrists and ankles was found in distress in the 14,000 block of State Route 772. It turns out that a male suspect, and 48-year-old Terri Diaz of Lucasville, picked up the victim in Columbus August 3rd. She stayed with them until the male suspect asked for oral sex and she refused. Diaz helped restrain her at knifepoint as the male found zip ties to restrain her in a camper trailer….but she later found a box cutter and escaped from the moving trailer on State Route 772.

The driver accelerated onto I-95 southbound and quickly reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

A 42 year old Columbus man is in custody following a high speed chase in Dodge County.  The chase started shortly after 2pm Friday when a sheriff’s deputy pulled over a car for speeding  on Madison Road near Iron Road.  The driver fled into the city of Beaver Dam, and then northbound on Highway 151 at speeds in excess of 90 miles an hour.  The chase ended when the vehicle ran over stop sticks on 151 near state Highway 33 and the driver was taken into custody.

We all make a few bad decisions in our lives, but hopefully, they aren’t as stupid as stealing a police car. That should be an obvious no-no, but it didn’t stop 30-year-old Chelsea Horsley from allegedly taking a joyride in a vehicle belonging to the Shelby Police. Citing the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Fox 46 is reporting an officer with the department stopped and exited his vehicle to talk to someone around 11 p.m. on September 4th. As this was happening, Horsley allegedly got into the vehicle and took off.

The suspect accused of trying to break into a business and leading police on a high-speed chase has officially been charged.

According to court documents, the Waite Park Police Department was called to an amateur radio station on the 400 block of 4th Street North at 12:14 a.m. on September 7th for a suspicious vehicle and a possible burglary. Police say they saw a vehicle driving away from the building and attempted to stop the driver, identified as Patrick John Pribyl, but he drove off, reaching speeds of over 100 miles an hour.

A 100-mph car chase ended on Putah Creek Road directly due to the Winters Police Department’s assistance. The late-night, high-speed chase began in the City of Chico and ended up on Interstate 505 on Sept. 1, leaving local law enforcement a matter of minutes to act. After the California Highway Patrol started to chase the suspect on the rural freeway, they contacted the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office and Winters Police Department. The chase led right into Winters, where it ended abruptly.

Speeds exceeded 100 mph during the ensuing chase. A Delta Marshal joined the pursuit at the 182-mile marker, according to a release from Delta First Responders.
