PPB: Fleeing driver stopped with spike strip after “menacing” officer with car – Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was arrested on multiple felony charges on July 1 after he allegedly “menaced” an on-duty Portland Police Bureau officer with his car before leading police on a chase around Northwest Portland.
PPB says that the man, identified as 27-year-old Adolfo Beltran-Megia, aggressively drove toward an officer with his car in the Northwest District while the officer was checking on an elderly woman possibly in need of help in the area at approximately 6:09 p.m.

Car allegedly reached 201km/h in police chase – Australia

Shepparton Police Sergeant Mark Phillips said the sedan was detected at a high speed on the Midland Hwy near Stanhope.
Police gave chase when they saw it travelling at what they allege was 160km/h at the intersection of the highway and Tatura-Undera Rd at Tatura at 7.25pm, Sgt Phillips said.
He said the driver sped off on police while they were pursuing the vehicle and that it allegedly reached a speed of 201km/h at Ardmona.
Police used stop sticks on the highway in Ardmona, with the vehicle then driven into Ardmona Rd, where it came to a halt and the four occupants allegedly ran off across paddocks.
Two of the occupants were caught in the area, while police arrested another two later in the same area.

Three teenagers arrested in second Victorian pursuit involving youths in 48 hours – Australia
–Three teenagers have been arrested after a short pursuit through Ballarat’s CBD involving a stolen car, just one day after three other youths were allegedly involved in a Melbourne pursuit.
Key points:
- The allegedly stolen car was driven through an outdoor shopping centre at a slow speed on Monday
- An 18-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at the scene and remained in custody
- Police have also laid charges against three other youths allegedly involved in a Melbourne chase on Sunday
Police said a stolen Kia Sportage was seen driving erratically on an oval in Peel Street, Ballarat, just after 9:30am today.

San Bruno’s streets see a surge in car thefts by teenagers has left residents on edge. Tensions escalated last night when a 14-year-old boy in a stolen vehicle fled from the South San Francisco Police at high speed, before being found hiding in a Pacifica backyard, according to a tweet from KTVU’s Henry K. Lee. This incident occurred less than a week after another group of teens were arrested for stealing a car in San Mateo, fueling concerns that the situation is becoming a pattern.
On June 23, three teenagers—a 13-year-old male from Daly City, a 14-year-old male from Colma, and a 13-year-old female from South San Francisco—were apprehended after stealing and attempting to flee in a white Hyundai overnight in San Mateo, as reported in a KRON4 article. The San Bruno Police Department, with the assistance of the San Mateo Police Department, successfully deployed spike strips, immobilizing the vehicle. The young suspects fled on foot but were eventually caught and taken into custody.

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple charges after a chase, traffic stop.
On June 26, Officer Dustin Christina was actively patrolling and observed a black SUV at a high rate of speed traveling south on Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raytown, according to a media release.
With his experience as an officer, he could estimate the vehicle exceeded 100mph. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the SUV continued to evade him and he lost sight of the SUV.
The officer located the vehicle again shortly after and activated his emergency lights and sirens for a traffic stop, but once more, it SUV fled.

Jul. 1—An Ardmore woman was charged recently with a felony after she reportedly led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through two counties.
Katelyn Diane Perkins, 31, was charged in Pontotoc County District Court with aggravated eluding for the pursuit, which occurred June 12.
Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Hudson said he was driving through a construction zone in the Latta area at about 12:40 a.m. when the pursuit began.
“I observed a vehicle approach the rear of my patrol unit at a high rate of speed,” Hudson said in a report. “I accelerated to 42 miles per hour out of concern for the vehicle impacting my unit. The vehicle, a gray Hyundai Sonata bearing a paper tag, passed me in a marked no-passing zone at a rate of speed faster than 42 mph in a marked 35 mph construction zone. As the vehicle was passing me, I activated my emergency lights and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The (driver) accelerated when I activated my emergency lights.”

A pair of armed robberies in Regina led to the arrest of two people.
Yesterday, two suspects in a car attempted to steal a motorbike at gunpoint, but failed, then the same two suspects robbed a driver of a truck a short time later.
Regina Police found the suspects’ vehicle and a spike strip was used to stop the vehicle.
26-year-old Waylon Keepness of Fort Qu’Appelle and a 16-year-old male each face numerous charges, including two counts of Robbery With a Firearm, and they were to appear in Regina Provincial Court today.

Ontario County Police Chase Ends With Arrest – Finger Lakes Daily News– New York
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies and New York State Police arrested a man Friday morning after a police chase that ended near County Road 5 and Routes 5&20 in Stanley.
Police were chasing the yellow SUV for several miles at speeds of around 60 or more miles per hour. The chase ended after the SUV ran over a spike strip.
Stanley Hall Gorham Ambulance assisted at the scene.

SYRACUSE, Neb. — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports arrests after a pursuit of a stolen minivan Thursday.
Deputies from Cass and Otoe counties were assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol in the pursuit, which ended with deployment of a tire deflation device near Syracuse.
A Cass County deputy attempted to stop an Iowa-plated Dodge Caravan on Highway 75, when the vehicle accelerated heading west on Highway 66.
Speeds reached 110 mph until the pursuit was called off when entering Louisville to mitigate danger to citizens.

Pursuit leads to arrest of five teenagers for car break-in – Georgia
Jun. 30—Three minors and two 19-year-olds were arrested early Wednesday morning for allegedly breaking into a car on St. Simons Island then attempting to run from police.
Officers responded to a call at a home on East Beach at around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday to look into a car break-in. The alleged thieves stole a gun and other items, a release from the Glynn County Police Department said.
At the same time, patrol officers noticed a vehicle they believed to be involved in the incident and pursued it. Other officers used spike strips to disable the vehicle on the Brunswick side of the F.J. Torras Causeway, but two of the people inside fled on foot, the release said.
Five people from Jacksonville, including three minors between 13 and 15 years old, were arrested.

MONONA, Wis. (WMTV) – A Monona Police Dept. K-9 swooped past his fellow officers and brought down a fleeing suspect, putting an end to a chase that began when an officer tried to stop a vehicle with no license plates, the police department reported early Friday morning.
In a statement detailing the incident, Monona’s police chief called on the community to support efforts to stop incidents like these, in which there was a chase on the Beltline and city streets, a runaway vehicle, and a police officer was injured.
“In a fraction of a second, this could have been a very different and more tragic narrative this evening,” he said. “We all play a role in that endeavor… and we must do better.”

Deputies: Couple arrested for stealing car in Flagler County– Florida

he Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said a resident reported a stolen vehicle Friday. Deputies tracked the vehicle to the area of Palm Coast Parkway and Boulder Rock Drive.
When the driver, Nathan Ellison, tried to flee, deputies said they deployed stop sticks, stopping the vehicle near Cypress Point Parkway.
According to deputies, Ellison then got out of the vehicle and ran away, but he was soon caught.
Several items that Flagler County residents had reported stolen were found in the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Ellison and a passenger in the car, Veronica Brady, are both from Jacksonville.

Arrest made following pursuit in Ray County – Missouri
RAY COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities from multiple agencies were involved in a pursuit the morning of Thursday, June 29.
Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers in a statement indicates the incident began when an alleged stolen truck was reported to have been taken from a gas station in Polo, Caldwell County. A Ray County deputy located the truck on Palmer Drive and initiated a pursuit. The unnamed female driver allegedly fled and struck two law enforcement vehicles a total of four times. The suspect crashed when spike strips were successfully deployed at 10 a.m. at Glenn Hendren Drive at 291 Highway in Liberty.

Stolen truck from Caldwell County leads to multi-county pursuit, crashes in Clay County – South Carolina
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A multi-county pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended just after 10 a.m. on Thursday in Clay County after sheriff’s deputies deployed stop sticks and the vehicle crashed, according to a tweet from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
The truck was stolen from a Casey’s General Store in Polo, Missouri, which is located in Caldwell County, according to a Facebook post from the Ray County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy found the stolen truck on Palmer Drive and began a pursuit during which the female driver struck two Ray County deputy vehicles.

–Southern Metro Crime Team officers and local police have arrested seven people in and seized two allegedly stolen cars after the police Air Wing followed the cars through multiple south-east Melbourne suburbs overnight.
Officers were on patrol, as part of Operation Trinity, when they spotted a white BMW wagon with stolen plates travelling at high speeds on the Monash Freeway, Dandenong about 2am.
Air Wing was quickly overhead and tracked the vehicle to Narre Warren where a Grey Mercedes joined the BMW, allegedly reaching speeds up to 150lm/h.
The BMW was dumped in Mullum Mullum Tunnel and occupants continued in the Mercedes.

A high-speed chase in Coos County Wednesday ended with a man and woman in custody, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office said.
Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy patrolling Highway 101 near milepost 245 observed a blue-green Honda northbound driving over 100 mph.
The deputy attempted a traffic stop but the car failed to stop.
A pursuit ensued northbound on Hwy 101 and reached speeds of 90 mph.

3 people arrested after allegedly robbing Home Depot in Keene, leading police on chase through 3 states – New Hampshire
Three suspects from New York City were arrested after police said they led officers on a chase through three states after allegedly robbing a store in New Hampshire.Keene police said around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, they responded to the area of Ash Brook Road for a theft of merchandise from Home Depot. The suspects entered the store and began filling bags with items and were reported to be wearing face coverings had had guns, police said. Officers aid they led Keene police on a chase through Chesterfield, at times going more than 100 mph before crossing into Brattleboro, Vermont. A Massachusetts State Police trooper then spotted the vehicle in Greenfield but said the driver kept speeding away even after driving over a spike strip.They were eventually spotted near Greenfield Community College, where K-9 Sig eventually helped track them down. The suspects were identified as three men, Jahnie Cox, 20, of Brooklyn, NY, Patrick Singleton, 20, of Queens, NY and a 17-year-old juvenile from Brooklyn, NY. Massachusetts State Police said the stolen items were transferred to Keene police.

Southern Watch Commander Andrew Dunnage said a ute and a van were stolen from a service provider on Percy Ct, in the Alice Springs suburb of the Gap, shortly after 7pm on Wednesday.
A short time later, police received reports both vehicles were driving “erratically” through the town centre.

Suspect faces charges after Dorchester Co. pursuit – South Carolina

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The North Charleston Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection to a hit-and-run and pursuit Wednesday.
Officers were patrolling the Highway 78 area around 6:15 p.m. when they spotted a car that was believed to be involved in a hit-and-run, police spokesperson Harve Jacobs said. Officers activated blue lights and began to pursue the vehicle, but it kept driving.
Officials said additional units were able to slow traffic in the area and set up spike strips along Highway 78 near the I-26 overpass. The suspect’s tires were damaged, and the pursuit ended on Bacons Bridge Road, Jacobs said.
Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended the suspect without incident.

Lenoir Man Receives Federal Prison Sentence For Firearm, Drug Crimes – WHKY– Wisconsin

A Caldwell County man has been sentenced to prison time on federal weapon and drug charges. U.S. Attorney Dena J. King announced Tuesday (June 27) that 47-year-old Jeremy David Greene of Lenoir was ordered to serve 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. He was convicted on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to information in court documents and Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, in April 2022, law enforcement received information that Greene was selling large amounts of methamphetamine in Caldwell County. Greene also had outstanding arrest warrants for state law violations. WHKY previously reported on his April, 2022 arrest.

Suspect leads police on chase in stolen pickup – Colorado
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — One person is in custody after leading police on a chase in Commerce City early Tuesday morning. Police are still looking for one more suspect involved in the incident.
At about 2:50 a.m., officers with Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) were dispatched to the 7100 block of East 49th Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a white Chevrolet Silverado that had been reported stolen, according to CCPD.
As officers approached the pickup, the driver fled from the scene, CCPD said in a release. Officers did use stop sticks and deflated at least two tires of the Silverado, police said.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody following a police pursuit in West Allis Tuesday morning, June 20.
It began around 4 a.m. after officers were dispatched to reports of a person attempting to gain entry to a car in the area of 77th Street and Greenfield Avenue.
While searching the area, officers located two vehicles in an alley near 73rd and Washington with their lights off.
The officer activated his emergency lights and siren and both vehicles immediately reversed through the alley and fled the area, police say.

Redmond father and son arrested in drive-by shooting – Wisconsin
A father and son face charges of attempted murder in a drive-by shooting in Redmond on Monday, after police used spike strips and a police dog to stop and arrest them near Black Butte later that day.
Mark Johnson, 45, of Redmond, and his son, Iceton Johnson, 18, of Redmond, are suspected of shooting a 42-year-old man multiple times in the driveway of his Redmond home Monday morning, according to the Redmond Police Department.
The victim’s name is Esaui John Mutchler, according to charging documents filed Tuesday in Deschutes County Circuit Court, and Deschutes County District Attorney Steve Gunnels.

Sunbury police warn about the danger of high-speed car chases – Wisconsin
The department went on a 20 mile chase on Tuesday morning, ending in the suspect evading capture.
SUNBURY, Ohio — A high speed chase started on Miller Road in Sunbury early Tuesday morning and ended on Interstate 71 near 17th Avenue. At one point, the suspect reached 106 miles per hour. Officers had to disengage from the chase and were not able to stop the driver.
Chief Deputy Shawn Wade with the Sunbury Police Department said chases are becoming more and more common.
“These last few years has been unprecedented. I don’t understand it and again it’s not a situation that an officer wants to be in, or do we want to put the public at risk,” Wade said.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Flashing lights lit up a section of Hwy. 10 in Moorhead when a wild, high-speed chase ended in the median.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department says on Monday, June 26 around 9:15 p.m. they tried to stop a stolen pickup along Hwy. 75 near Georgetown, MN.
Authorities say the driver wouldn’t stop for the deputy and sped off, going 100 miles an hour. Eventually, officials say they put out stop sticks and deflated three tires on the vehicle, but that didn’t stop the driver either and he kept going 50 tp 60 miles per hour.
A short time later, deputies used stop sticks again and deflated the fourth tire, but that didn’t even stop the driver.

Madison Police Release Information Regarding Police Pursuit Through Madison That Ended In Milton – Texas
Friday June 23, 2023, Jefferson County Law Enforcement received information regarding a kidnapping from a Women’s Shelter in Bloomington, Indiana. At approximately 2:00PM information was received that a vehicle fitting the description was south bound from Dupont on Highway #7. The vehicle in question was a black Dodge Challenger. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Laura Pickel located the Challenger and attempted to execute a traffic stop. The vehicle fled southbound on Highway #7 and into the City Limits of Madison. Chief Deputy Pickel lost visual contact of the Challenger as it traveled at an extremely high rate of speed.
A short time later, the challenger was observed on Clifty Drive (Hwy #62) near the Madison High School, traveling East bound. A second pursuit ensued, involving the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Police Department, and Indiana State Police.

Milwaukee police pursue 2 Hyundais, 1 stolen, man charged – Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE – Stan Thomas, 21, of Milwaukee, is charged after prosecutors say he led Milwaukee police on a chase in a stolen Hyundai. It was one of two Hyundais police pursued on June 20.
According to a criminal complaint, an officer investigating a report of people in Hyundais trying to enter parked vehicles near 77th and Greenfield came upon two Hyundais, one red and one gray. It was revealed that the gray one had been reported stolen.
Prosecutors say Thomas was driving the gray Hyundai. Neither vehicle stopped when police tried pulling them over, with one speeding east on and another speeding west.

MSP releases dashcam video of car chase in Cheboygan Co. – Michigan
Michigan State Police said Monday that the suspect in the Sunday carjacking case was identified as a 27-year-old man from Alma.
The suspect attempted to carjack a CPL holder at a gas station in Waters, troopers said. After the suspect assaulted the CPL holder, the CPL holder displayed his firearm and the suspect fled.
The suspect found an unlocked pickup truck in the parking lot with the keys inside and stole the truck and left at a high rate of speed, troopers said. The owner of the vehicle called 911, and state police located the vehicle northbound on I-75 south of Indian River.
The trooper followed the vehicle until an officer from the Tuscarora Police Department took position behind him, they said. The trooper activated his emergency lights and siren, but the truck did not stop, and a pursuit was initiated, troopers said.

Troopers with the West Virginia State Police responded to a call for an intoxicated man at a gas station in the 12,000 block of N. Mountaineer Highway in Preston County just after 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, according to a criminal complaint.
Troopers say they saw the man, later identified as 34-year-old Todd Houston, get in a car and pull out of the gas station’s parking lot without using a turn signal.
When troopers tried to pull over Houston, they say he led them on a multi-county pursuit that ended in Taylor County after spike strips were deployed.
Troopers say Houston lost control of his car and crashed into a guardrail at the intersection of Wickwire Rd. and Walmart Ln. before fleeing on foot into a nearby wooded area.
