Juvenile Getaways and Stolen Cars: Minor Arrested After String of Car, Purse Thefts in Wallingford – Connecticut

A minor has been arrested in connection to a string of purse thefts that happened in Wallingford Wednesday morning.
The police department said they notified of three purse snatching incidents involving multiple minors that were wearing masks and driving a stolen car.
The first theft happened on South Whittlesey Avenue at about 10:25 a.m. Officers said three minors wearing dark clothing tried to steal cars in the parking lot. One of the cars was damaged in the process, police said.
About five minutes later, a second theft happened at Sunoco on North Colony Road. Police said three minors took a purse for an unoccupied car and fled.

Juvenile Getaways and Stolen Cars: ISP: Female leads police on chase in stolen company car – Indiana
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. –Police were attempting to stop a vehicle in Boone County that did not have a license plate, however, the driver led the officers on a pursuit in a stolen company car, according to the Indiana State Police.
The chase went west from I-465 to I-865, until going north to I-65, with the driver reaching speeds of approximately 115 mph. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office deployed stop sticks which brought the vehicle to a stop along the exit ramp to Highway 52.

“Obviously, it’s an escalation to gunshots,” Jacobson said Tuesday, two days after the event that attracted what on video appeared to be hundreds of people to the parking lot of Lowe’s. While the stunt show, which was reported about 1 a.m. Sunday, was similar to past events involving illegal drag races at Long Wharf and on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, in this case “somebody decided to fire a gun and a woman was shot in the crowd,” Jacobson said.
The victim was a 17-year-old from Waterbury, he said. Police previously said the woman was shot while running away after vehicles allegedly struck pedestrians in the crowd. Her injuries were non-life-threatening and she is expected to recover, said police Lt. Scott McDermott, who commands the Police Department’s East Shore District.

A California man is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit.
Kineth L. Lowe, 48, of California, is in custody on suspicion of felony resisting arrest by fleeing, felony unlawful possession of a firearm and numerous warrants from other jurisdictions. According to a Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office news release, Lowe is being held without bond.

GLENDALE, Wis. – Four kids (ages 12-16) were arrested after police say they led Glendale officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen Hyundai, with speeds reaching nearly 100 miles per hour. Police used stop sticks to bring it to an end.
The chase happened early on Thursday, April 20. Police said the Hyundai was stolen out of Saukville earlier in the night.
Video shows multiple officers chasing the Hyundai being driven recklessly, with officers deploying stop sticks. The driver kept going, even as the tires gave out.
“They should not be behind the wheel – period,” said Tracey Dent, community activist.
Video of the chase is hard to watch when you know the ages of those in the car.

Juvenile Getaways and Stolen Cars: Teen Crashes Parents’ Car In Warsaw After 2-County Police Pursuit – Iowa
A police pursuit that began west of Columbia City early Saturday morning ended in Warsaw. The teen driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Specifically, the 15-year-old male driver refused to stop. He did so when an officer tried to pull him over for speeding, according to Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Brian Walker. The teen—whose name was not released—had unauthorized control of his parents’ vehicle. He was also the vehicle’s sole occupant.
Subsequently, the pursuit started west of Columbia City and ended in Warsaw. Warsaw Police Department placed stop sticks at some point, and then the teen could not maintain control of the vehicle, according to Walker. WPD Public Information Officer Capt. Brad Kellar said WPD assisted with the pursuit. Ultimately, the crash occurred at the southwest corner of Winona Avenue and Buffalo Street. Kellar said the juvenile suspect was taken into custody after the accident without incident.

CANYON COUNTRY, Calif. (KABC) — First, an armed robbery suspect barricaded himself inside a vehicle. The incident happened for hours at the end of a cul-de-sac in Canyon Country. This followed a chase involving sheriff’s deputies.
Finally, the standoff ended after nearly six hours. Deputies flushed the suspect out with tear gas and took him into custody.
Specifically, the incident began around 6:20 a.m. with a report of a robbery. This occurred on the 2800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

MONROE (WWJ) — A Sunday morning police chase from Ohio into Monroe County ended when the driver’s tires deflated due to spike strips, allowing sheriff’s deputies to take the intoxicated woman into custody.
Just after 1:30 a.m. on Apr. 23, Monroe County dispatch got word of a police chase on northbound I-75 involving officers from Washington Township, OH, and heading into Michigan.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (WBTV) – The Kannapolis Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, April 23.
Initially, an officer, traveling on Rogers Lake Road, noticed a vehicle. The vehicle matched the description of one involved in a recent drive-by shooting. Therefore, the officer attempted to pull the 2016 black Jeep Patriot over using lights and siren. However, the vehicle continued onto Kannapolis Parkway.
Police said that at this point a passenger in the vehicle displayed a weapon. Then, the passenger began firing at the officer.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – Tear gas ended a nearly hour-long standoff in Lawrence. Authorities deployed the gas inside a vehicle. Now, one man sits behind bars.
The Lawrence Police Department says officials arrested Louis G. Galloway, 32. Galloway, from Lawrence, faced arrest Sunday night, April 23. The arrest followed a standoff lasting about an hour.
Officials said the standoff started in the 100 block of N. Michigan St. Police pulled over the car, and Galloway refused to exit it. He had frequently carried weapons in the past. He caused officers several significant injuries during prior arrests.
