Monroe woman arrested for drunk driving, fleeing police after chase across state lines – Michigan
MONROE, Mich. – A woman was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated and fleeing and eluding on Sunday morning in Monroe County after a chase with police.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 36-year-old Monroe woman was taken into custody on Sunday morning after a chase from Washington Township, Ohio to Monroe, Michigan.
Officials say Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call from Washington Township Police advising officers of a pursuit on northbound I-75 at approximately 1:38 a.m.
The driver exited the highway at Summit Street in Erie and continued north onto South Dixie Highway in Monroe Township. Police say the 36-year-old struck Stop Sticks that had been deployed at Dunbar Road.

Joliet Pimp, 2 Women In Stolen Car Captured On I-55: Grundy Sheriff – Illinois
JOLIET, IL — Ivan Davis, a known convicted drug dealer and a convicted pimp out of Joliet, was arrested early Sunday morning along with two female companions from New Lenox and Wilmington after Grundy County Sheriff’s deputies used stop sticks on Interstate 55 to capture three of the four people in the stolen car out of Joliet.
According to Grundy Sheriff’s officials:
- Around 12:40 a.m., Grundy sheriff’s deputies on overnight patrol received an alert from a FLOCK camera about a stolen vehicle from Joliet, in the area of Route 129 in Gardner.
- A Grundy County deputy spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to stop it, and that’s when the people in the stolen car took off and entered I-55 north bound.

Police chase begins in western WI and ends in crash in MN – Wisconsin/ Minnesota
–Multiple police departments, including the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, started to chase the suspect.
GLENWOOD CITY, Wis. — A situation that began as a traffic-related altercation in western Wisconsin ended with a police chase and a crashed vehicle on Friday night in Minnesota.
Glenwood City police initially reported a traffic altercation between two drivers, which included a 44-year-old man spraying a chemical irritant at another driver, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say the victim who was sprayed by the chemical then pursued the man onto Interstate 94.

High-Speed Chase on I-55 in Illinois Ends in Accident, Manhunt Sunday morning – Illinois
WILMINGTON, IL – Around 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning, a high-speed police chase on Interstate 55 in Grundy County led to a multi-vehicle accident and a manhunt for a suspect.
The pursuit involved the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, Braidwood Police Department, and Will County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Police, it began with an allegedly stolen vehicle out of Joliet being detected by a FLOCK camera in the area of Rt. 129 in Gardner, prompting Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies to respond. A deputy located the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the suspects fled, getting onto I-55 northbound.

A suspect is facing several charges after eluding police and speeding in a stolen car on the Springwater Trail.
A man wanted in connection with a murder in Oklahoma was arrested Monday afternoon on Interstate-40 near Holbrook. State Troopers and deputies from the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to the possibility that 23-year-old Tawann Richardson was driving westbound on I-40 in a stolen black Toyota Camry with Oklahoma plates. A trooper found Richardson on I-40 in Holbrook at around 3:40 p.m. The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but Richardson kept driving. Stop sticks were deployed and Richardson eventually lost control and came to a stop in the median west of Holbrook

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) – Five teens are in custody after fleeing sheriff’s deputies in west Michigan in a stolen Kia.
Kent County Sheriff’s deputies first tried to stop the car at 60th Street SE and Kalamazoo Avenue on the border of Kentwood and Gaines Township around 9 p.m. Monday. The driver fled, and the chase was called off because of traffic.
Around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, another deputy spotted the vehicle in the area of 60th Street SE and Kalamazoo Avenue. The driver again fled, but this time the chase continued, with deputies pursuing the suspects west on 60th.

PPB arrests driver speeding 100+ MPH, driving recklessly in oncoming traffic – Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau successfully stopped and arrested a driver engaging in multiple dangerous behaviors Thursday night.
The PPB says that its East Precinct night shift was pursuing the suspect for 23 minutes. The driver was driving recklessly into oncoming traffic, going the wrong way on one-way streets, and speeding 60+ MPH on residential streets and over 100 MPH on the highway.

Police chase ends in standoff on I-5 in Carlsbad – California
–CARLSBAD – A vandalism suspect who allegedly stole a ride-share vehicle in Carlsbad today and fled in it refused to surrender when officers stopped her on a nearby stretch of Interstate 5, prompting a road chase and an ensuing 90-minute freeway standoff that ended with her arrest.
Darneisha Hill, 39, allegedly vandalized a vehicle in the 6000 block of Paseo Del Norte, near Palomar Airport Road, shortly before noon, then summoned a ride-share car and was driven out of the area in it, according to police.
A short time later, officers responding to the reported crime pulled over the driver of the vehicle the suspect was riding in, Lt. Darbie Ernst said. When they approached it, Hill allegedly brandished a large knife and made threatening statements.

KENT COUNTY — Five teenagers are now in a juvenile detention center after deputies say the group lead them on a chase in a stolen car.
5 teens arrested in Kent County after chase involving stolen vehicle
On Tuesday, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office provided more details about the chase, including dashcam video.
It all started on Monday night, just after 9 p.m., when deputies spotted a stolen Kia in the area of 60th Street SE and Kalamazoo Avenue.
“They activated their lights. Unfortunately, the vehicle didn’t pull over,” said Undersheriff Chuck DeWitt.

Four DUII arrests made over five days, BCSO officials say – Oregon
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies recently made four arrests that included charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants in a five-day stretch, according to authorities.
BCSO listed the series of arrests on their Facebook page on April 18.
On Thursday, April 13, deputies arrested Cassidy Lynn Ling-Scott, 22, of Sisters for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Reckless Driving, according to BCSO officials.

Gary Simpson, 40, was arrested on multiple third-degree felony counts of violation of a protective order as well as failure to stop at the command of police and reckless driving.
Payson City Police report that the incident began at 2 p.m. when a woman reported that her ex, identified as Simpson, went to her home and threatened to kill her that morning.

BATES COUNTY, Mo. – A traffic stop on Interstate 49 results in a multi-department pursuit.
Bates County Sheriff’s Office indicates at 2:00 p.m. Monday, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired tags and illegal window tint. The vehicle initially pulled over but upon the deputy approaching, the suspect allegedly fled northbound.
The pursuit came to an end just north of Harrisonville when the suspect lost control after the deployment of spike strips by Cass County deputies. The driver was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle allegedly found prescription medication and a handgun.

The man at the center of a massive search following a shooting on a busy stretch of the interstate has been taken into custody. Police were searching for 18-year-old Charles J. Smith in connection with the deadly shooting along Interstate 70 in Oak Grove, Missouri. The shooting happened after 4 p.m. on Wednesday on eastbound Interstate 70. The Missouri Highway Patrol says someone in one vehicle shot into a second vehicle on the highway. The victim crashed into a parked, empty tractor-trailer. Emergency crews tried to save him, but it was too late. “The suspect fled the scene and was later pursued by troopers,” the Missouri Highway Patrol said in a tweet. “The suspect drove off I-70, fleeing on foot.”Thanks to witnesses describing the suspect’s car, authorities were able to track him down on Interstate 70. The chase led them to Sweet Springs, Missouri, and troopers used stop sticks to pop the tires and get the car off the road.

Police officers had to use stop sticks to stop the vehicle and arrest the man.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Indiana authorities say a man accused of reckless driving led police on a chase from Jeffersonville to Louisville on Wednesday.
Around 7:40 a.m., a Jeffersonville Police officer says he saw a black Toyota Corolla commit numerous traffic infractions and drove “in a manner that displayed disregard for the safety of other motorists.”
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the driver, 44-year-old Daniel Vaught, fled from the officers.
Clarksville Police officers successfully deployed stop sticks just before the on-ramp on West 10th Street.

Atul Kumar Goswami, 26, of Flushing, New York, is charged with failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, and speeding, though more charges could be on the way, authorities said.
The chase began in Amherst when officers spotted a tan 2015 Lexus E35 speeding and driving recklessly with a license plate that didn’t match the car, state police said. Amherst police tried to pull the luxury car over, but it sped off.
Officers gave up the chase out of safety concerns, but soon after, Hadley police saw the Lexus and picked up the pursuit. Officers put down spike strips on Route 9, which deflated the car’s tires but didn’t stop it.

Davenport man to police: ‘I am stoned – Iowa
A Davenport man accused of fleeing police in a stolen truck Sunday in Bettendorf couldn’t tell investigators to whom the truck belonged, but police say he was sure about one thing.
“I am stoned right now,” Anthony J. Maples, 41, told police after spike strips stopped a red 2004 Ford 150 Supercrew at Valley Drive and Belmont Road, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
Maples first fled from a Bettendorf police officer at about 10:30 p.m. when the officer, in a police vehicle, approached the truck in the parking lot of UnityPoint Health-Trinity’s Utica Ridge Road campus, 4500 Utica Ridge Road, court records state.

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Deputies arrested Kaiden Johnson, 21, Saturday morning following a highspeed chase.
Deputies saw Johnson going 75 mph in a 45 mph speed limit zone on NE Highway 314.
They tried to pull Johnson over before he sped away.
During the chase, he sped up to about 100 mph
Deputies eventually caught him by using stop sticks on East Highway 40.
That’s when Johnson told deputies he had drugs and they found cocaine and marijuana inside his car.

28-year-old sentenced to life in prison for shooting, killing his girlfriend in Kenton Co. – Kentucky
COVINGTON, KENTUCKY — A 28-year-old Kenton County man was sentenced to life in prison Friday for killing his then girlfriend in 2021.
Dillon Brewster was arrested October 20, 2021, then later convicted on multiple charges that included murder, kidnapping, and firearm possession, WCPO reported.
The day of his arrest, he led the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a high-speed pursuit for over seven miles. The chase ended when state troopers used “stop sticks” to halt the suspect vehicle near Troy.

Valley fire departments reassess safety after multiple stolen ambulance – Arizona
PHOENIX (KNXV) — In less than one week, two Valley fire departments had ambulances stolen from outside hospitals.
On Sunday, officials say a 45-year-old thief led police on a high-speed chase that ended with Gila River police officers puncturing the tires of a Mesa ambulance.
In Tuesday’s theft of a Phoenix ambulance, the suspect totaled the expensive emergency vehicle in a five-vehicle crash.
In January, a 28-year-old woman stole a Buckeye Valley Fire Department ambulance.
The brazen thefts of the pricey, GPS-tracked vehicles have all happened outside hospitals, where the keys are left inside.
Officials say there have also been attempted thefts that did not make the news.

LIBERTY TWP., Ohio (WKBN) — A woman was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after the Ohio State Highway Patrol said troopers were in a pursuit with her as she was going on Interstate 80 in Liberty Township.
According to Highway Patrol, Rachel Benton, 47, of Poland was the driver of the vehicle.
According to OSHP, troopers observed the car going the wrong way as it entered I-80 shortly before 1 a.m.

Male suspect hospitalized after felony traffic stop, vehicle fire in Longmont – Colorado
A male suspect was hospitalized early Saturday morning after a felony traffic stop in Longmont led to him setting his own vehicle on fire.
Robin Ericson, a spokesperson for Longmont Public Safety, said a Longmont officer had been working a vehicle crash near Third Avenue and Main Street at 2:25 a.m. when they saw a white Oldsmobile sedan slowly drive westbound through the intersection, running a red light. The sedan kept driving slowly, making multiple U-turns, and at one point after being stopped at an intersection on Main Street, the male driver revved the sedan’s engine and began speeding toward the officers. There was also a female in the passenger seat.

Nebraska state troopers arrest 27-year-old man, locate missing juvenile after pursuit on Interstate 80 – Nebraska
A 27-year-old man was arrested and a missing 17-year-old girl was found after a pursuit by the Nebraska State Patrol on Sunday.Around 8:40 p.m., a trooper saw a Honda Civic speeding, while traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 near Bradshaw, according to authorities.The Nebraska State Patrol said that the trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield and accelerated to over 100 mph and then the trooper started pursuit.Another trooper was able to stop the vehicle, which was determined to be stolen, near mile marker 383 using stop sticks, according to authorities.The driver and front seat passenger fled on foot, running across the westbound lanes of the interstate, the state patrol said. They were taken into custody shortly after by additional troopers and Seward County deputies.The driver, Edwin Portillo Barrientos, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, theft by receiving stolen property and multiple outstanding warrants.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)- Four suspects led Madison police on a chase around the city following a shots fired incident that began on Madison’s east side.
Authorities say just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, they received reports that someone in a vehicle fired at another vehicle near the intersection of Cottage Grove Street and Acewood Boulevard.
When police identified the vehicle that fired, a pursuit began. The chase ended near Voges Road on Madison’s east side after pursuing officers used spike strips on the suspect’s vehicle.

Hagerstown man flees PSP roadblocks, spike strips….in 1988 Ford Econoline RV home – Tri-State Alert – Maryland
17 April 2023- A Hagerstown man is free on bail after allegedly leading Troopers on a chase through Marion and Greencastle in his 1988 Ford Econoline motor home. Martin Luther Cudjo is free on an unsecured bail of $25,000 bail.
On April 13th around 11:30pm, PSP Troopers were on patrol in Antrim Township on US-11 when the allegedly found a tan 1988 Ford Econoline Mobile home travelling north that had no registration or rear-lighting. Troopers tried to conducted a traffic stop but the van didn’t yield, with Troopers eventually pulling up NEXT to the vehicle on the roadway motioning for him to get over. The driver, now found to be Martin Luther Cudjo of Hagerstown, MD, the started to drive over the right fog line as if he was going to pull over but instead pulled back onto the road and continued northbound.

Man, woman arrested after fleeing police in stolen vehicles: Fredericton Police Force – Canada
A man and woman are facing charges after police got in a chase with two people driving stolen vehicles earlier this month, a news release from Fredericton Police Force says.
On April 6, police saw a stolen Mercedes and a BMW driving in the Sheffield, N.B., area, the release says.
Officers threw a spike strip, stopped one vehicle and arrested a woman.
Police say the second vehicle’s driver rammed a squad car and tried to get away but was eventually stopped. The man driving was brought into custody.

ENCINAL, Tx. (KGNS) – The Texas Department of Public Safety foiled an alleged human smuggling attempt that escalated into a high-speed chase.
The incident happened on Friday after authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevy Impala.
The driver refused and sped up resulting in a chase on I-35.
Authorites used a spike strip to stop the car rendering the vehicle useless.
Several people got out of the car and attempted to flee on foot.
Four people were caught along with the driver, a 31-year-old man out of Waco.
He was arrested and charged with evading arrest and human smuggling.
