DC man in custody following 130 mph pursuit across Indiana border Indiana

(WXMI) — A suspect is in custody after leading authorities on a vehicular pursuit reaching 130 mph in Southwest Michigan Tuesday evening.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office (SJCSO) says police in White Pigeon tried to stop a speeding SUV before 7:30 p.m. when the vehicle took off eastward on US-12.

We’re told the chase took authorities east through White Pigeon and Sturgis Township. There, Sturgis police successfully deployed stop sticks.

The SUV continued south across the Indiana border, where authorities from LaGrange County and Indiana State Police (ISP) continued the pursuit, according to SJCSO.

Lee County residents: Less talk, more action in stopping dangerous drivers – Florida

Lee County residents are demanding answers on how deputies will deal with dangerous drivers because the safety of their communities is at stake.

A double shooting during what deputies call a street race has stirred up concern in Lehigh Acres. That shooting triggered Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno to say he’s had it with the street crime in the county and has changed the pursuit policy as a result.

Marceno says he’s pulling out all the toys, helicopters, drones, and stop sticks, to stop street racers.

Man Charged After High-Speed Pursuit Kentucky

A man was charged after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit on Pennyrile Parkway Friday afternoon.

Christian County emergency personnel say the pursuit started in Hopkins County and Kentucky State Police joined after it crossed into Christian County.

The man reportedly fled at speeds of over 100 mph and passed vehicles in the emergency lane before spike strips were used to disable his vehicle around the 13-mile marker.

Headlines: Police chase latest, shots fired, construction accident settlement – Massachusetts

Two men have now been charged following a car chase that began in Connecticut and ended in Hastings. Police had to use spike strips in the vicinity of Lawrence Street in Dobbs Ferry on the Saw Mill River Parkway. Police say Ibn Foster and James Riley of Newark were caught a few minutes later in Hastings after abandoning the vehicle.

Police in Poughkeepsie are investigating several reports of shots fired on Wednesday afternoon. The reports came from Washington Street, where officers found shell casings and bullet holes. No injuries were reported.

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — West Valley Police shut down the road near 4900 South Bacchus Hwy. to protect the public after a reportedly suicidal man allegedly pointed a gun at multiple people, shot the gun, and took off at high speeds, according to West Valley City Police Department.

According to authorities, police received a call around 1:20 p.m. on Mar. 24 to report a family member who was allegedly suicidal and carrying a gun. Police said they could not respond as rules have recently changed to avoid a suicide-by-cop incident.

Just before 4 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle wanted for shots fired, armed robbery, home invasion, and gun theft that happened near 24th and Hadley around 2 a.m. Police said the two people inside matched the suspects’ description.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — Two men are arrested following a high-speed chase early Tuesday morning in Moorhead.

28-year-old Jovan Gagnon of Mahnomen fled during a traffic stop.

But the chase was called off due to the high rate of speed.

The vehicle was later spotted near Village Green Boulevard and stop sticks were used to stop it and Gagnon and his passenger, 44-year-old Shawn Mosca of Detroit Lakes, made a run for it.

The Iowa State Patrol said that shortly after 4 p.m., Clarke County deputies attempted to stop a White Chevy Silverado that was driving recklessly on I-35 northbound in Decatur County. The driver of the Chevy did not stop, and a chase began.The Chevy continued on I-35 northbound into Clive, where The Iowa State Patrol placed stop sticks. The driver of the Chevy crashed into another vehicle at Hickman Road on I-80/35.The driver of the Chevy was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. They have not been identified.The driver of the other vehicle is OK.

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a David City man following a pursuit near Grand Island Wednesday morning.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., a trooper observed an eastbound Chevrolet Equinox traveling at over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near mile marker 296. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield and accelerated. The trooper initiated a pursuit.

WHITE PIGEON TWP. — Deputies said a man led police on a high-speed chase through two Southwest Michigan towns before crossing the border into Indiana, where he was arrested.

Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police tried to stop a white SUV that was speeding through White Pigeon. Instead, the vehicle fled eastbound on US-12 at up to 130 mph. Police followed it east through White Pigeon and Sturgis Township.

The vehicle eventually ran into stop sticks that the Sturgis Police Department had set out. It then headed south into Indiana. White Pigeon police and St. Joseph County sheriff’s deputies followed the SUV until LaGrange County sheriff’s deputies and Indiana State Police took over.

A man was arrested after a Tuesday afternoon standoff in the area of Marion Avenue in downtown Punta Gorda.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, James Alan Currie, 51, was arrested after deputies tried to pull him over.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office had warned Charlotte County deputies to be on the lookout for Currie, who was suspected of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft of a firearm and grand theft in connection with a March 20 burglary in North Naples.

On Sunday, March 19 Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Zachary Allen obtained information that Jeremy David Moss was in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine. Deputy Allen was able locate the vehicle being driven by Moss near College Drive and Richmond Road. With the assistance of Texarkana Texas Police Officer Cole Bredenburg, Deputy Allen performed a traffic stop in a business parking lot.

Yuba County pursuit suspect caught in Lincoln after chase lasting over an hour California

LINCOLN — Authorities were in pursuit of a man who was spotted sleeping in a stolen vehicle on Sunday, according to Lincoln Police officers.

Identified as Anthony Squitieri, Yuba County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to contact the suspect while he was sleeping, but he fled in the vehicle when he woke up. Officers initiated a chase but were unable to capture him.

It wasn’t until the early morning of the next day, March 20, that Lincoln Police officers found the vehicle in a parking lot near Lincoln Boulevard and Sterling Parkway. Squitieri and a woman were found sleeping in the backseat.

Jessie Craig Spears, 54, of Suncrest Orchard Road, North Wilkesboto, was then arrested on charges of felony fleeing to elude, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of meth and several misdemeanor offenses.

New York man charged after car chase ends in Pa. Pennsylvania

A high-speed chase that started in New York state ended in Pennsylvania after state police deployed spike strips.

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) charged 42-year-old Michael Gelencser of Derby, New York, with fleeing and eluding and related charges after a car chase that lasted approximately 60 miles.

That incident happened back on March 8 when PSP was contacted by the New York State Police that they were pursuing Gelencser for suspected DUI along Interstate 90 and were headed toward the state line.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday the hit-and-run at mile marker 94 on southbound I-75 was reported to the FHP. A short time later, troopers located the vehicle being driven by an alleged impaired driver, traveling south on Interstate 75, at mile marker 89.

MILTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Three people were arrested after police attempted a traffic stop in Avon early Saturday morning.

According to Massachusetts State Police Spokesperson Dave Procopio, at around 12:06 a.m., a trooper saw a 2012 Toyota RAV4 that had no rear license plate or rear bumper on Route 24 in Avon. A police pursuit was conducted after the driver did not stop.

Another trooper ahead deployed a tire deflation devise across the roadway. The SUV struck the stop sticks which damaged both tires on the left side. The vehicle continued and exited Route 24 onto Route 93 and exited onto Blue Hill River Road in Milton. It came to a stop on Trout Brook Avenue in Milton.
